  1. I think you can simply copy take lane clips and paste them in individual tracks.
  2. I have W10 1909 (2004 won't install), CW 2020.05 and GS-2 VST3 V2.3.2 and GT-2 Properties Page looks fine and GT-2 plays fine. So don't see a problem.
  3. I'm not fond of that auto selection feature either. And, like you, my favorite timeline selection method is to drag in the timeline using aim assist. I'm learning to ignore the, to me, useless big green selection range and work underneath it.
  4. I did look at the Undo dropdown and nothing was there.
  5. Exactly. I don't think I have any clip groups to loop. So nothing should have happened. What happened had nothing to do with looping. The popup indicates that clips were bounced but no new clips have been added to the project audio folder. My question is what happened and why?
  6. Looping a selection independent of tempo is easy in Cakewalk. Turn off Snap to Grid. Drag on the Timeline to make a selection. Press SHIFT + L to set Loop Points. Press the Spacebar to continuously play the selection. Press again to stop. Drag in the middle of the selection on the Timeline to move the selection. Drag the Loop Points to widen or shrink the selection.

    CTRL+L Mistake

What happened when I pressed CTRL+L in project shown below? Since there are no groove clips and no clips were selected I would expect either nothing would happen or maybe a select a groove clip message would pop up. But that's not what happened. Is there anyway to terminate erroneous commands once a popup appears? Nothing I tried worked. The project shows an existing loop selection at the end of the 2nd verse and I've made a new loop selection in the Timeline of 1st verse. I intended to press SHFT+L to make a new loop selection. Instead I got confused and pressed CTRL+L. Big Mistake. Cakewalk got busy and non-responsive. Then the hidden data slip editing error message shown in the screenshot popped up. I tried to cancel or close it. No luck. I tried to close the project. No luck. So I clicked OK. The mixdown progress bar popped up in the Control Bar and when it finished a saving project message appeared. Once that cleared, the same message reappeared. This happened I'd say more than a dozen times. When it was done, I was able to close the project without saving. So I don't think any damage was done. Unbelievably I re-opened the project and did the same thing a second time and the same thing happened again. So it's repeatable. After that I was able to figure out that I should be pressing SHFT+L which removes the existing loop points and added the new ones as expected. The project has 40 tracks many contain no clips and some with clips are hidden.
  8. Thanks. I didn't realize that the entire index is on a single page. I'll try that.
  9. Problem is, you can't really search the website which for me is a real problem. I quite often, probably most of the time, don't know where to look but can come up with a keyword or two by trial and error. The pdf document is very easy to search.
  10. I use clip gain on vocals to level them out. To me it's the easiest place.
  11. Thanks for the reminder. Another good reason for using the media browser to load tracks.
  12. Do you use the Perfect Tunes, CD Ripper or MP3 Converter apps?
  13. On my Android phone this link sends me to TicTok. Nevermind my mistake.
  14. Might be a good question to ask Bandlab.
  15. That makes sense and historically, I've taken the same approach. I think I'm softening up (or maybe getting more reckless) because I've become very comfortable with Windows 10 and am not so worried anymore about fatal flaws. I'm hoping that when I do have problems, I can provide feedback and then drop back to my last working build, like I did when 2004 blue-screened twice.
  16. I just joined the Windows Insider Program. Is anyone else in the Insider Program? Any thoughts on whether or not it's worthwhile? I'm thinking as a Cakewalk user, I'll be providing info on Cakewalk performance to Microsoft which seems useful to Cakewalk users and I may get some tips on optimizing my PC for Cakewalk. Before making this post, I searched the forum for posts on the Insider Program and didn't find anything less than a year old. Looks like it's not that popular with Cakewalk users and might mean it's a bad idea. Also I recently tried to install the 2004 update but it failed twice. It appears a lot of people had that problem. So I figured I'd wait a few weeks to try it again.
  17. I don't think that Cakewalk uses GPU processing, but some VST plugins use OpenGL, particularly for sophisticated graphical audio data displays. In my case my CPU is an older i7-6850K with 6 cores and 12 threads. I had an older AMD R7-250 video card. I use the iZotope Music Production Suite which has, what I consider, an awesome user interface using lots of sophisticated graphics. I've also verified that iZotope plugins use OpenGL. With my existing R7-250 video card I would get lots of pops and cracks anytime I opened certain iZotope plugins. Opening several iZotope plugins and interacting with the graphic displays would cause playback to stop even at the highest audio interface buffer size. I could see that the problem wasn't driving up or overloading my CPU and decided to upgrade my graphics card to a RX 580 to make more OpenGL processing capacity available for iZotope and any other processes that could use it. The result was a night and day improvement allowing me to drastically reduce audio interface buffer size in some situations and allowing Cakewalk to use more of my CPU's processing capacity. Here's a thread to the SoundonSound forum I used to get advice in addressing the OpenGL problem. The advice I received helped me understand the problem and select a replacement graphics card. At the end of the thread, I posted a summary of my conclusions from the graphics card upgrade. Hope you can open the link and read the thread. And I hope it's useful to you.
  18. Sorry. I misspoke. I tried but there was nothing to select. scook's suggestion of selecting the orphaned envelopes using Shift+Click allowed the envelopes to be deleted using the Right-Click dropdown menu.
  19. Try the test that @Noel Borthwick suggested to re-educate yourself.
  20. I know, I've seen big improvements in working with envelopes over the last year or so.
  21. Wow that works! How did you know that? Found it on page 1694 of the Reference Guide! Cakewalk has got to have the best DAW reference guide ever! When each of the "ghost" envelopes are "SHIFT+Click"ed the Edit Filter shows "Send Level" which is probably a remnant of a send level envelope that was deleted, probably without deleting the envelope first.
  22. I don't think that will work. The two greenish "ghost" envelopes that I want to delete to de-clutter the display don't exist and can't be selected in the edit filter.
  23. I didn't delete any automation lanes. Opening automation lanes was intended to make it easier to show that there was only one remaining automation envelope, but it appears to have caused confusion instead. The two greenish "ghost" envelopes don't exist and can't be selected in the edit filter. So I don't see how they can be deleted. Other than cluttering the track display they don't seem to be causing any problems. In the past, closing and re-opening Cakewalk has removed "ghost" envelopes. Hopefully that eventually happens here. I have since added two additional envelops to that track and will add more.
  24. How do I remove the leftover automation envelopes shown in the image below. The only remaining track automation envelope is shown in the automation lane below the clip pane. The other automation shown in the clip is clip automation. The leftover envelopes don't seem to be affecting any controls but they do add clutter on a track that I plan to add more automation to.
