  1. Yes, that's what I was getting at ... except, wouldn't the first purchase unlock the $199.99 tier? So, my thought is for the first timers to jump in directly with $199.99 (which I can see could be ARC System 3 - software only).
  2. For those new to IK and have never purchased anything before, the price points for the big items like AmpliTube, SampleTank, MixBox, Syntronik, MODO DRUM, and MODO BASS are $299.99. However, once you purchase over $99.99, then you get crossgrade pricing, which is $199.99 for those same items. So, if you're looking to get one of those, buy something that's $199.99, then I believe that makes all those $299.99 items available as $199.99 freebies. At least that's what makes sense to me. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. If you don't know the differences between amps (like me, two years ago), I would get the collections to cover the major brands, each of which has its own sound. * Fender 2, Fender: low gain, Fender clean, Fender stomps * MESA/Boogie: high gain, but I like the TA-30 which can do Vox tones * Orange: crunch, high gain, also a bass amp For the other collections: * Joe Satriani: Rockman, Marshall, Peavey (released last year) * Brian May: Vox, stomps (released last year) * Slash: Marshall (updated 2018) * Jimi Hendrix: (released 2008) Fender, Marshall amps but are older so the newer collections/amps will be better, quality-wise * Leslie: I wish I got the T-Racks version instead so I could use it as effects for other virtual instruments Generally, the newer the release, the better the amp sim quality. I'll be picking up the ones I don't have depending on how many freebies we end up getting, starting with Satriani, then May, then Slash. Find out what gear the groups you like is using: https://equipboard.com/. You might see a pattern. For music from the 60s and 70s, it's Fender, Vox, and Marshall.
  4. Good to know. Is NKS supported on non-NI keyboards? That is, can one update a keyboard to match the NKS mapping? I have an IK iRig Keys I/O 49.
  5. Here are some reviews: https://www.musictech.net/reviews/software-instruments/brainworx-bx_oberhausen/ “MT Choice Award 9/10” https://www.strongmocha.com/2019/04/11/bx_oberhausen-by-brainworx/ “Rating: Five out of five stars” https://www.gearjunkies.com/2019/04/review-brainworx-bx_oberhausen/ “The bx_oberhausen is the closest emulation of a SEM I came across. The TMT technology really gives it character that so may plugin instruments miss.” The reviews all mention high CPU usage, though. I have Syntronik as well as Arturia Analog Lab V, both of which cover the SEM, but … GAS + $25 monthly voucher to make it $15 … how can I resist?
  6. 126 Participants to 3 free products Almost there. I’m still waiting for a deal at the $199.99 tier that’s better than using 60 Jam Points. On the other hand, some of my Jam Points are going to expire soon (from the group buy two years ago).
  7. If not an IK MEMS mic, then you want a mic that has an individual calibration file, like the Dayton EMM-6 or UMM-6 (USB). The ECM8000 I believe has a generic calibration file which may be close, but not individually measured.
  8. The threshhold is spending $50 within a year. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/news/article/items/customer-loyalty-vouchers.html Usually, the best time to buy is when they have a big sale (in the spring or in the fall), when they have most of the products on sale, and in addition, give out multiple $20 vouchers (usually 3) with no limit (though one at a time).
  9. I believe the calibration is built into ARC3 given the consistency of the MEMS mics. Here’s an interesting read on the mics. https://audioxpress.com/article/fresh-from-the-bench-ik-multimedia-arc-2-5-mems-test-microphone
  10. I logged into my MtM account and found only a single license registered. I dug around my system and found three more licenses that were all authorized, but not registered. Thankfully, I could find the licenses by starting the plugins, so now I have my four products showing up as registered. I had totally forgotten I had an Expose license--obviously I haven't been using it--but nevertheless, I still requested a password, and am waiting for a response.

    Nembrini DC30

The Voice DC30 is also discounted to $9.99 in the iOS App Store (normally $19.99). Nembrini apps are universal (works on both iPad and iPhone) and support AUv3 (latest audio plugin standard for iOS). Picking it up for iOS as it’s rated very highly by folks on the Audiobus Forum.
  12. The IK group buy two years ago (and the huge thread) was what turned me onto the Cakewalk Deals forum. My current wishlist: AmpliTube, MixBox, and SampleTron (all at the $199 tier). I have enough jam points to bring it down to $140, but hoping for a retail deal for even better.
  13. I have Samplitude Music Studio and Acid Music Studio from a previous Humble Bundle (neither of which I actually use since I use Studio One Pro). Any compelling reason to get this bundle for Sound Forge Pro if I have RX 7 Elements?
  14. Here’s the link from the email with the details: $9.99/month or $99.99/year Start Free Exclusive offer: First 60 days free Cancel anytime Free plugin updates Free course included Give your music a fully pro sound with 44 plugins powering the world’s top producers and mixers.
  15. I saw that it cost $12 to WUP my expired plugin. But, I have to spend $50 or more for the free plugin. Passing on it since the four plugins expired or expiring to get to $50 were all freebies that I haven't been using. All my 20 plugins are already V12.0.0. I guess I'll wait until I have a reason to update.
  16. Wasn’t that deal directly on the IK site? When you buy there, the code is automatically redeemed and immediately show up under your products, IIRC.

    Softube Tape

With the freebie, this is the best deal on Softube Tape I’ve seen. For those with Studio One, it’s one of the few plugins that supports MixFX.
  18. Find out what? My iLok License Manager shows 1 of 1 activations used for PhoenixVerb.
  19. Great news—I’m happy to be corrected! I was waiting for it. Thank you.
  20. FYI, MODO DRUM does not yet work on Apple M1. https://cgi.ikmultimedia.com/ikforum/viewtopic.php?t=26811
  21. My license of PhoenixVerb is good on just one computer so having another license would be useful for the second computer.

    PA Mega Sale

Got the ADA Flanger for $10 after voucher since that got talked up last time.

    BFD Summer Sale

I think with the latest release, they fixed the major issues. It’s still wise for you to save the old installers. If your licenses show up on bfddrums.com, I would think you’ll be fine w.r.t. licensing. Read up on forum.bfddrums.com. Did you get your freebie drum libraries (one of your choice for transferring, and others to restore the library/libraries from bfd1 or bfd2)? Nevertheless, if you run into any issues, open up a ticket at bfddrums.com. Just be patient as it may take a several days for a response.

    PA Mega Sale

Got SPL Vitalizer for 10. Waiting for voucher reset to further my GAS.
  25. I’d suggest searching for xtouch vs faderport reviews. I was surprised that in some cases, the xtouch came out on top (in feel).
