  2. YouTube video on the v6.6 update.
  3. 89 € each. There are two 49 € Pianoteq expansion instruments that cover basically the same instruments. So, is it worth an extra 40 € times 2 for the MIDI that comes with the Toontrack VIs? Not too sure about that. I think I'll wait for a sale.
  4. Can a TB3/4 port handle the data rate? Absolutely, as long as your CPU and graphics driver can keep up. On a modern laptop, that shouldn't be an issue. And I am eagerly awaiting your next video. I just checked your YouTube channel. There's a missing video. What happened to my favorite, the space opera one?
  5. I know it was unintentional, but FYI, @Fleer is a prof in Belgium, and is quite male, thank you very much. Hence the LMAO emoji.
  6. Windows does Thunderbolt just fine. My Lenovo P17 has two TB3 ports. I use one for the TB3 SSD and the other for the port extender, which has USB3, USB3.2 with a T7 SSD attached, a Blu-ray drive and an HDMI port for the second display driver (the P17 has 2 graphics chips, one for the internal 4K display and one for the external display). Everything works flawlessly. Not a single glitch.
  7. I have two 2 TB Samsung T7 USB3.2 external SSDs, one for work files and seldom/never used Kontakt instruments, and the other for backups. They're great. I spent the money for a 2 TB Samsung X5 Thunderbolt 3 external SSD for a samples drive. It was between 2 to 3 times more expensive and 2 to 3 times the size. And it runs warm. But where the T7's are about 9x faster than a 7500 RPM spinner, the X5's are about 40 times faster. I've never had a single glitch running a sampled VI.
  8. Here's looking at you, Word Pervert v5.1. Lord, I hated that word processor. It was the Motorola standard for DOS/Windows users. There were so many releases of v5.1. They never changed the version number. Each new release came with PAGES of release notes in 4 point type. New releases added features that totally hosed backward compatibility. I'd receive a WP file from a colleague that was totally borked on my PC, so I'd have to contact him/her and ask for the file date of the .EXE file, and then negotiate who was responsible for fixing the incompatibility. My most used and most hated command in Word Pervert was "Reveal Codes".
  9. It's WAY longer than 2 years. I had a v4-v5 license that I needed to replace when v6 was released. I bought my v6-v7 license in early December, 2019, over 4 years ago! And v7 is just getting going. I just hope they make enough money to stay in business. I'd be more than happy to pay that $60 every 2 years. That's about how often Studio One gets a major version update. I can't find a receipt, but I think I pay 2-3 times that to PreSonus every couple of years.
  10. St. Paddy's Day. Paddy for Patrick. Patty for Patricia. Unless there's been some surgery involved.
  11. I picked DDLY up for free years ago, and pretty quickly uninstalled it. I don't know what iZotope is doing, but several different apps had trouble scanning and authenticating it. And it's not the only iZotope product I've had that problem with. I have uninstalled all of their products, even the ones I paid for, and have put them on my "never again" list, along with Waves and Slate.
  12. FWIW, NI's Komplete Kontrol S Series keyboards have always supported aftertouch. So, why did I replace a perfectly good S61 MkII with an S61 Mk3? Because the Mk3 supports polyphonic aftertouch, whereas the MkI and MkII only support channel aftertouch. 👍
  13. For @PascalHP who is probably not familiar with the Coneheads, a semi-regular skit from the TV comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL). SNL is still on U.S. TV, but has never recaptured the essence of the first two years on the air from October 1975 to the spring of 1977. I was a student at the University of Wisconsin - Madison at the time. The bars would empty out at 22h30 on the Saturday nights when it aired. Everyone went home to watch the show and then went back out to the bars when it ended. It was then made into a movie.
  14. I'm another. I moved to Arcachon on the Atlantic coast 45 minutes west of Bordeaux and 2 hours north of Spain almost 3 years ago. So, Pascal covers the northwest, Zo covers Paris and I cover the southwest. Now all we need is someone from Lyon and Marseille or thereabouts, and we have France covered. Bienvenue, Pascal !
  15. The Eden is currently on sale for 49 € instead of 99 €. Applying this promo code reduces the price to 39 €. So, 60% off of list, not 60% off of the current sale price. Still a pretty good deal. I'm a bassist, and this is tempting, but I'm going to pass. I have a lot of bass amp sims and if I'm honest with myself, I don't need any more. Still, holding the line of my GAS for anything bass related is as difficult as holding in a Taco Bell f*rt in a crowded elevator. I made it this time. Whew.
  16. I just checked, and Thomann is correct that the S Series MkII keyboards support aftertouch. What's new with the S Series Mk3 keyboards is that they support POLYPHONIC aftertouch. Sorry for my confusion. Here's a link to the S Series Mk3 User Manual. One possibility may be using your VSTi plugins inside of Komplete Kontrol (which is something that you would need to do anyway if you want to use the color display and knobs to control those that offer NKS support). Check out pages 8-12. There are a couple of other possibilities documented in the manual that you can consider. Komplete Kontrol S Series Mk3 User Manual in PDF Another option is to check out Gig Performer for those switching tasks. It's an amazing piece of software for both live and studio use. It may be exactly what you need. One of the devs is a touring keyboard player. The devs were formerly with IBM Research. G.P. is truly next generation after Mainstage, Cantabile and Forte. There is a super supportive community of users available in their forum. I've been using G.P. in my studio for years, and love it. Gig Performer Gig Performer forum Gig Performer YouTube channel
  17. I have owned a Panorama P6 and still have an S61 Mk2, but it's in the box that my new S61 Mk3 came in. I don't use Machine, so didn't need the Machine-specific buttons on the Mk2. The Mk 3 supports aftertouch (!), which the Mk2 doesn't. Also note that you don't need Komplete Kontrol to directly control Kontakt 7. It supports the Mk3 directly. My P6 had a great semi-weighted keyboard, but I had a couple of issues with it. One, the color display partially died, but more importantly for me, there was a bug is the Nektar sysex file for direct support in Studio One. I provided Nektar with exact steps to reproduce, and even told them on which specific line in the sysex file the bug occurred. All I ever heard from their support was "it works here". I had also heard of others with driver issues. It just seemed to me that they did just enough software development to get new products out the door, and then moved on to other things. I landfilled the P6 and bought an S61 Mk2. I sold it when I moved to France and then bought another one here. It was working perfectly, but I wanted the aftertouch support on the new Mk3. If you live in the EU, I could be talked into parting ways with my Mk2. A quick note about sliders on MIDI keyboards... Unless your software supports soft pickup (you can move a slider without changing the parameter it's linked to until its position matches the current parameter value), you'll find using them a challenge. My P6 had 10 sliders, only one of which was motorized. Unfortunately, the motorizing was buggy and never worked in my setup, meaning I just had 10 non-motorized sliders. YMMV.
  18. Cream hasn't been updated in YEARS.
  19. OK, after playing around some with the iLok License Manager and hiding a bunch of plugins that I had previously unauthorized and trying to connect a very old USB iLok key which my laptop failed to recognize in any of the three USB ports I tried it in (this is why I hate it, and I go WAY back to the original Centronics printer port iLok dongles where each one was keyed for a single program and they all wanted to be first in line or they failed to be recognized, so I was forever swapping dongles in and out; end of rant), I opened Softube Central...and got the same error message! But...after clicking on "Keep" and scrolling down the list, I found a second entry for the VCA compressor and it showed as activated on my laptop. That was why it was working for me. Whatever, it's a glitch on the Softube side. I don't think uninstalling it will fix the problem. I need to play around some more with it, but in any case, it works fine for me. EDIT 1: I should have read the Page 3 posts before responding, so there are others in the same boat. I wonder if this is due to the VCA compressor being around for so long. Did Softube use a different authorization scheme before switching to iLok, like PSP is doing on a one-by-one basis with their plugins? EDIT 2: This has to be a problem with Softube Central. My Account on the Softube website shows 5 plugins, and VCA comp as Authorized. There is no second VCA license shown, but S.C. shows 6 owned plugins, with VCA duplicated. Also, there's only one VCA key in iLok, and it shows 1 of 3 available authorizations used. I just rewatched the original Ghost in the Machine movie last night, so, yeah, there's a ghost in S.C.
  20. This may be super obvious, but before looking for some other cause, I just want to verify that after Softube added the license to your iLok account, you used the iLok License Manager to activate it.
  21. Clicked on "Get Free", activated via iLok Activation Manager, download and installed via Softube Central (already installed for my other 4 Softube plugins) in less than one minute total.
  22. Black Rooster Audio makes some excellent plugins. I have their bundle, including this one. I just want to point out that the sale price is exactly 1 € cheaper than the regular full price for Klanghelm's superb variable mu compressor MJUC, which has 3 different "models" available. Klanghelm MJUC variable mu multicompressor I really like the Klanghelm dev. He does excellent work. I have all of his plugins, too. And you've gotta give props to any dev who names his saturation processor SDRR (***, Drugs, Rock and Roll). 👍🎸 I'm sure you know the word that the forum auto-blipped.
  23. I ran the UVI product manager and it didn't show any updates available. I wonder what happened on your end.
  24. I picked up this update almost a month ago.
