  1. When I open AD2 in Waveform it doesn't render properly. The GUI is shifted down in the frame and I can't select anything.
  2. I played with it a bit and the MIDI generator is kind of fun. Addictive Drums 2 didn't work for me, it doesn't render properly. If they fix AD2 and other VSTs I like work, I may get the MIDI Producer expansion.
  3. I like the funk kit. I mix and match kits and beats and use that funk kit quite a bit.
  4. I'm all for an arp editor, but I will point out that cthulu is only $39. https://xferrecords.com/products/cthulhu
  5. For what you're trying to do also consider a MIDI splitter.
  6. Are we looking at the same web site? That studio pro has a base price of $2319 and adding an audio drive + sample drive makes it $2800. Where is the $2-3k mark up? I took a quick look at Dell and couldn't customize exactly, but it would be close to $2500. The mark up over Dell may be $3-400. That seems reasonable to me. I haven't bought from Jim so I'm fairly objective.
  7. Many years ago, Herbie Hancock had two drummers on electronic drums for his Future Shock tour, although one also played a fair amount of percussion. Great Show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDzqrO78V38
  8. Yeah, I've noticed a fair number of drummers and percussionists using an spd-sx. I got one to input midi, but it's fun to trigger loops on some of the pads as well ...
  9. Not drums, but that reminded me of seeing the who back in the 70's. They used tape or a tape loop for baba o'reily; I remember looking around for a keyboard player 😀 It was only years later that I read they were using tape. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZBhgZBjiLE
  10. Yes, but why? Do you want to use it live, or record the processed signal?
  11. Going back to the 80's I've seen drummers use sequencers to play high hat parts on some songs. Some bands like the grateful dead had two drummers. Does it matter if it sounds good?
  12. It depends on what you want to record. If you're recording guitar do you want anything over 15K? What about vocals? Vowels likely top out at 1.4k and consonants around 8k. The Royer R-121 is popular for both. It's 30 - 15K. They run around $1200. https://www.amazon.com/Royer-R-121-Large-Element-Ribbon-Microphone/dp/B00328HPIM
  13. Considering it's now free, yeah upgrade. I don't know Homestudio so I can't say ...
  14. I have a Quad Capture that I use with a laptop, Windows 10, and it's up to date. No problems here.
  15. I use a 32" Viewsonic QHD monitor (2560 x 1440) @ 125% scaling and everything looks fine to me.
  16. Bandlab has a number of products - two of which are Bandlab and Cakewalk. Cakewalk is just the latest version of Sonar. You download Cakewalk and open your projects in it. I haven't used Bandlab, but my understanding is that it's an online tool that you need to upload your stuff to. I suspect you want Cakewalk by Bandlab. If so you need to download it and install it on your computer. It's not clear from your post what you're writing about.
  17. From the website - (S-Gear v3.0 will be a free upgrade for customers with a v2.9 license)

    Virtual wah wah

If you use an expression pedal some amp sims do have wah pedals. You can also use an expression pedal to control vst filters or eqs and that is basically the same thing.

Are you talking about an on/off pedal, liked a sustain pedal, as opposed to an expression pedal?
  20. I've used Macrium Reflect free to do what you're saying a number of times. No problems. I don't remember the details, but I thought I cloned the disk, installed it and then used disk management to enlarge the partition. I could be wrong, it's been a while. My DAW is around eight years old now, I started with a 256 gb system SDD, switched to a 512 gb, and eventually a 1 tb.
  21. Yes, you can record midi from keyboards and use them to drive software synths, and you can play midi through your external synths. How you connect depends on the HW, usb or midi. Check youtube or the tutorial section here. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/35-tutorials/
  22. It turns out the problem I had with the M1 in Live was operator error. I did a file save combi and that didn't save it. I tried file save all and that worked. When I opened the project to work today everything was fine.
  23. I agree and plan to report it. With the M1 I created a new combination and it didn't seem to save it properly, but I haven't used the M1 much until now. I tried saving everything yesterday and today I'll see if that worked. If the vst 2 works it will save me from having to recreate the combination every time I open the project.
  24. I was playing with the Korg ms20 as an fx with guitar last week and was surprised to find you can overdrive the input on the filter. I'm impressed. On the other hand, I'm using the vst 3 version of the M1 in Live 11, but it doesn't remember it's settings.
