2. Thanks to this thread, I decided to re-audition a couple of the Sonitus effects. First the delay... fine, has a few nice features but nothing spectacular. Second the Modulation... It held up a bit better than I remembered. The reverb also sounded decent. The EQ I had used a fair amount (it used to be embedded in the tracks before they came out with the Pro Channel, starting at Sonar 3 or so) The compressor I was not impressed with. I had a clip of acoustic guitar which I had recorded from my soundhole pickup into my Komplete Audio 6 instrument input. As recorded, it was quieter than I wanted, thin, and didn't have a consistent volume. My first thought was to try a compressor on it. I have a few, and was going through my list to see what sounded best. Most helped to varying degrees, except for the Sonitus one. It just made the guitar sound thinner and screechier. For the most part, though, I gave up on Sonitus around the time that the Kjaerhus classic line came out.
3. I've never used Mixbus, but the impression I got was that most people don't like to track or edit in it, but really like it for mixing and mastering.
4. I wouldn't mind if they included installers for some of the legacy Cakewalk products. I understand this could get complicated when it comes to licenced content included with older versions of Sonar, but for standalone products like Z3ta or Rapture is seems to be the sort of thing they will need to do anyway if they want to market these.
5. I crossgraded to Studio One as well. CW works better for me for most of my compositional needs, although SOP is loaded with a lot of cool features too. One that I think would be a good candidate for CW to steal is the scratch pads. It's a great tool for working out arrangements.
6. Me too. Also waiting for Motown and Stax drummers, as well as Bill Bruford.
7. No, what I was thinking of was VST Persist Compatibility (VPC), which would have been an extension to VST3 standard, etc... http://forum.cakewalk.com/VST-Persist-Compatibility-VPC-m3408323.aspx# Supposedly this is something that both Logic and Reaper handle.
8. I've been able to program both GR5 and Amplitube to scroll through adjacent patches.

10. Any announcements re Cakewalk?
11. That's the one I would have suggested.
12. I have a lot of projects with instances of Kontakt 5 loaded (and a few with K4). Over the summer I will probably take advantage of the sale on Komplete upgrades and will find myself with Kontakt 6. I remember hearing something about a feature that would let you replace older versions of a plugin with newer versions. Did anything ever come of that, because it might be nice if I could effortlessly replace the K5 instances with instances of K6.
13. Really? I saw they were giving Carbon as part of their new freebie product Komplete Start, but I thought it was a Reaktor Player ensemble.
14. I would much rather Bandlab allocate their resources to any of a hundred other things first.
15. Pick up the latest version of Computer Music. They have a large number of free instruments and effects included, many of which are exclusive lite versions of more popular software (ie Bazille CM, Synthmaster CM, Rhino CM, etc). Also, but I don't know if this is still supported, but in CM 200 they gave away a full copy of OG Rapture and in a later edition they had a giveaway of Home Studio with Rapture Session.
16. It's been 8 months and they haven't even set up a store to sell things like Z3ta 2 or the Adaptive Limiter yet. Even if that were anywhere on there task list, I wouldn't expect a Mac version any time soon.
17. abacab's list is pretty good. I'll add... Green Oak Crystal, aka the poor man's Absynth. Reaktor 6 Player has two ensembles included, Blocks Wired which is modular monosynth weirdness, and Mikro Prism, which is a type of physical modeling synth.
18. Yeah, the time modulations can do a lot of interesting stuff. Otherwise it's kind of like having a better version of the step sequencer from Rapture in a plugin.
19. They definitely should have an LE version of RP included, and have the option to buy the full version.
20. Are the impulses in a standard format or proprietary ?
21. I think you can also adjust the sample start time.
22. Try this... <http://patcharena.com/downloads/comment.php?dlid=95&ENGINEsessID=91307369ffc25507b85dbd03f5316071>
23. I decided to put up a number of patches I made for Rapture using the waveforms from the excellent Muz3um soundset. http://patcharena.com/downloads/comment.php?dlid=1443&ENGINEsessID=8b207b4c841546eacecb555476d73ea0 Hope you like these. As long as you are picking up Rapture presets, you might want to check out my ill-timed 30 for 30 set. http://patcharena.com/downloads/comment.php?dlid=1429&ENGINEsessID=1511cd12d45c3a1a706c5f940397d297
24. This is odd, all of a sudden I don't have that problem any more, at least when opening existing projects or starting from an empty project. This has been a minor annoyance for years. My best guess is that when I opened the KA6 control panel to check on settings, it may have reset.
