  1. ARC 3 with the Mic, ($104.99 using Jampoints). That was as you can see on Tuesday 8-10. Checking FedEx tracking says it will be here on Tues 8-17 (I'm in the Seattle area), so I expect it will take a week to CA. It has NOT showed up in My Products as of yet, but I get the impression we have to register ARC 3 first. My Products shows I have TRackS5 Custom Shop so will I be offered TRacks5 Deluxe? Stay tuned... I do see a crossgrade/upgrade path to TRackS5 MAX for $299 in my account, but nothing to TRackS5 Deluxe. t
  2. Not my genre Dave, but I think Wookie has given some sage advise. t
  3. +1 there Inquiring minds want to know! another +1 Overall ?'s t
  4. Indeed you are right! I played a Tennessean back in the day and had forgotten that not all Gretch's have the "thumbnail" fret markers. And the Volume knob in front of the pickguard should have been a dead giveaway. t as usual I could have looked this up... per Babiuk's Beatles Gear: "George's Gretsch Duo Jet was made in 1957. George bought this instrument in the summer of 1961 after seeing a ad in a Liverpool newspaper."
  5. Lets not get in a p-i-s-s-i-n-g contest here. BUT What is labeled and marketed as Orange these days, you think is a faithful reproduction of what was an Orange amp back in the day? CORRECTION: From Wikipedia The Orange Gibson Years 1993–1997 Following Mathias' death in 1989, his sons Peter and Richard continued the business until 1992 when the company was sold to amplifier enthusiast Jeff Lewis. In 1993, Gibson licensed the name to manufacture Orange Amplification. Gibson decided to have their Orange amplifiers made by Matamp in Huddersfield again in order to keep the "Made in England" identity. The first Gibson era Orange reissues released were the Graphic 120 and Overdrive 120 launching in 1994 followed by the Graphic 80 and Overdrive 80. Sonically, there was a marked difference between these reissues and the original 1970s Pics & text heads. The capacitors fitted in the EQ section had Series Two Overdrive Head values. A small number of Orange Super Bass 120 reissues were also made based on the circuit of the 1979 Series Two Super Bass. The 1990s Orange reissues were not commercially successful and it was mutually agreed that the licence would not be renewed. In February 1997, Gibson handed the Orange name back to Cliff Cooper. I might actually be wrong! t
  6. $1.14 after applying "virtual cash". IIRC, @bitflipperhighly recommended the MDynamicEQ. t does anyone need/want the 101, @cclarry can I give it away?
  7. fortunately I had just "pulled the trigger" on the 4; not that I couldn't use the 8 mind you... t
  8. See you made it easy! Thanks Lars t "You're just what I needed"
  9. say YES Larry so I can pull the trigger 2TB or 4TB; I can't decide. the 8TB is the "best buy" on a per TB basis. t ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  10. This is the "NO-BRAINER" price point; yes? t my only quandary now is do I jump the bones of the 4TB at $379????? decisions, decisions; I feel like a deering in the headlites...
  11. I don't "mix" on the 990's, I don't have speakers in the office (well proper Near Field Monitors). I use DT770's (closed back) in the studio when tracking someone else, (my CR and Vocal booth are not "isolated" from each other) they have the Sony (can't remember the model) cans with the retro fitted "cuffs" that look like the ones worn at the airport. Total isolation, no backing track gets into the vocal or instrument mics... t
  12. The SVT in Amp4 is all you need; IMHO IMO t
  13. Depending on how many "goodies" the buy gets to I'll have to consider it. As I said I just picked up the BM AC-30 and... well it didn't "shiver me timbers" t
  14. I don't have the May collection, but I did buy the AC30 its based on; meh Randall Smith?, not a big fan (anyone who tries to patent circuitry that's been in the public domain for decades is a parasite) never played a Mesa I felt I could live without. (Now Rivera's that a different story, but I digress) What's an Orange amp sound like? I would hazard a guess you don't know any better than I do. Korg bought the name I think?, someone will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure... (a guy wanted me to build him a cross between an Orange and an Ampeg; how would I know what that would sound like, why am I asking you?...) Slash is built on the Silver Jubilee; right? I'm more a "Plexi" guy but the Jubilee and the 2210's are great amps. (I'll pass on the 900 series, I know guys like 'em. Mostly those who never have "ridden" a good "Plexi" me thinks...) flame away folks, I let it "hang" out there, I got broad shoulders and opinions to match I guess t
  15. Yeah, pretty much everything Jerry does is! I'm a fan, what more can I say... t
  16. I neglected to add that the iridium sounds great! ? What's in the pedalboard? You boosting the signal before it hits the Iridium? I've never been a "pedal" guy; in the day it was one cord from the Paul, straight into the Plexi stack (pretty much wide open... well "dimed" anyway, I didn't have one of them fancy goes to "11" Spinal Tap Models) I did have a Tweed Twin that went to "12". (the dual rect, 40 watter, not the later, much coveted, "high" output one; it had four "big bottles", I assumed it was 80 watts, aren't all Twins? what did I know at the time?) But I never "abused" the Twin, bought it on "spec" for $25; pretty much the no-brainer deal price at the time... (Wholesaled it out at $300, top retail at the time was $500ish, right buyer, something else had caught my eye, needed cash...) I've been watching Tim Pierce's channel, he has a literal ton of vintage amps, but he always has some kind of "drive" pedal in front of the them... maybe that's the diff between "real" guitar players and "hackers" like myself... (I do put you in the former, not the latter, category btw) t boy I rambled a bit there, must be "age" catching up with me, sorry 'bout hijackin' your thread...
  17. You pulled the bass up? Seems a little too upfront on the DT990's here. (bear in mind I've been adding a caveat to all my posts about where my ears are at these days...) You haven't worked on the drum track?, its seems to "lag" a bit at times. The snare is late sometimes; maybe. And the snare rolls kind of remind me of John Densmore; seems like he's always a bit late coming out of a roll. ? oh boy, I'll probably catch some crap for that... I like the tune, but I've mentioned that before. t
  18. If I'm co-producing that's the only change I make. ? ? ?'s t unobtainium bestaminium! I've been riding an AXE II XL Plus of late
  19. Sounds good on the DT990's here. Without the original to compare to, can't comment on the relative "improvement". But I know I "liked" it then and I "like" it now; so there is that. Love the freedy j/Lynn colab fer sure! t
  20. Notes as I listen: 1) Bring the guitar up a bit in the intro 2) Liking the BGV's ?'s 3) Agree the midi horns are a bit too, well "midi" (wish I knew how to properly implement NI "Pro Horns", I have it somewhere...) 4) The "solo" guitar is a bit more pronounced, but I'd try an increase of a dB or 2 5) Do like the beat a lot! 6) "Open your eyes, open your mind" you're preaching to the choir here, but I like the message! 7) big ?'s on the outro (ending) well that's my running commentary Fred ? ?'s up and a backfield in motion from me! t
  21. Some fine bass lines here, so a ?'s from me. Some very cool synth lines as well; definitely a plus there. t
  22. Michael, given where my ears are at these days I'm reluctant to give the you're asking for. I did enjoy the listen and it seemed balanced here on the DT-990's. And I find them to be pretty "honest" cans; so there's that... HTH, t and you left me "hanging" waiting for that final "resolution" on the last note (that never came); well done on that!
  23. Jesse goes all hippity hoppity, and we're not talkin' Peter Conttontail here! I love this Jesse! Rap on my brutha t how did I miss I'm on Fire? why am i asking you? ?
  24. ?'s! left my comments over at BandLab ? t
