  1. It's been working out for me for more than 6 years now on the old PC. I use mostly VSTi for my instrumentation. I don't record anything live except my voice. I don't use big programs like Superior Drummer. I use EZ Drummer & EZ Keys. It's just a hobby for me. If I wanted to really go pro I would buy something like a Creation Station ($4000.00 on up) just for the PC. Then I'd go for Pro Tools, Superior Drummer and all the other higher class stuff. For me it's just for fun and taking it as far as I can with what I can afford. ๐Ÿ™‚JB
  2. So far pretty good, but mind you, I haven't done much work on it yet. I only have it a little more than a week and I've spent most of that time reloading (and re authorizing) the programs. Check back with me in a few months.๐Ÿ˜‰ What I can tell you is everything I had on my old system is on the new and I tested everything and they all seem to be working. If all goes well, after the initial warranty (1 year) I might put an additional drive on it for expansion purposes. ๐Ÿ™‚JB
  3. Hi Andy! ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks so much for posting this. It's good to know I'm not the only one with these issues. Your link takes me to 4.87.4.709_Installer_843.exe. The email I got from an Adrian Hogg from Focusrite tech support is 4.87.4.709_ScMC_1.10b6.exe. This might be the same driver because the 4.87.4.709 is the same. The difference might be because your interface is a 2i4 and mine is a 6i6. I can't DL on my new PC because of my security settings on that but I could on another PC in my house and put it on a stick. Might try that, but might wait on further word from Focusrite. Your explanation is intriguing. Thanks so much. EDIT-Another thing, Andy-Does you 2i4 use an external AC adapter? My 6i6 does. I wonder if that has anything to do with the Power Option changes. Adrian didn't send me any info on this. Just a link to the drivers. ๐Ÿ™‚John B
  4. I posted this a few months ago when I had my Windows 8.1 PC running my Focusrite 6i6 interface. It would occasionally go into a BSOD with different error messages ranging from "System Exception" to "Bad Pool Caller" and IRQL errors. I asked Focusrite tech support for help. They linked me to beta drivers to try. I tried them. Problem persisted. Their final recommendation: Upgrade to Windows 10. Last week I bought a brand new Dell Core I5 running none other than Windows 10!! Twice this week I got the damned error again on the new PC!! I contacted Focusrite tech support and they linked me to beta drivers, which they asked me to try again. I don't know if I want to. My Firefox browser will not allow me to access the site the beta is on because of security (certificate) reasons. Does anybody else have a Focusrite interface that is presenting these problems? ๐ŸคจJohn B
  5. OK. I'll tell ya. I have a project full of about 15 VSTis. I moved it over from the old (platter) system to the new SSD system just to compare. On the old platter system this project with its 15 VSTis took about 5 minutes to fully load. On the new SSD system it took less than 30 seconds. To me, speed in loading is a big factor too. I'd rather spend 5 minutes creating music than waste those 5 minutes waiting for a project to load. ๐Ÿ™‚JB
  6. "Confusion is all around us. What is the truth and who is lying?" Even more so now then when you put this up on July 22. It gets crazier every day second. Truer words were never spoken. My friend, you really know how to white 'um. ๐Ÿ˜€John B
  7. That's good to know. My place gets kinda dusty so I like to open my PCs up and blow them out occasionally. Thanks for the tip I appreciate it. ๐Ÿ™‚JB
  8. My situation has been remedied. It was because my old PC is Windows 8 and the new is Windows 10. On the 8 PC I disabled the default audio drivers so it only loaded the Scarlett on boot up. I didn't disable the default on the new one, so if you don't do that you have to go to the little "speaker" icon to the right of task bar and pick which drivers you want to use. Having not known that, it kept coming up on the default audio drivers. Since I bought the Scarlett at Sweetwater they were gracious enough to Team Viewer my system and discovered the problem (by a Mac guy, yet). You learn something new every day. Thanks for your suggestions. ๐Ÿ™‚ JB
  9. Mine's one of those NVMe drives. I haven't "popped the hood" yet because I don't want to risk voiding the warranty, but they say these are about the size of a stick of gum. Amazing! ๐Ÿ˜€
  10. Hi; I just got a new PC dedicated to music production. The installation and configuration of it from the old one is completed. I didn't run into as many glitches as I thought I would (fortunately). My question is about the fact that (as per my request when I ordered it from Dell) it has a Solid State hard drive as opposed to the old fashioned platter drives. I've heard that, while they are a boon to users for their speed in loading (which I can attest to already) they don't enjoy the longevity of the old platter drives. Until I did some research on the subject (after I ordered the PC) I found some critics of the SSD drive for this reason. It has to do with how many read/write cycles it has to perform over its lifetime. Any thoughts on this? Could become an interesting group discussion. ๐Ÿ˜€ John B
  11. @Old JoadThanks for listening, OJ. Also thanks to all @KurtS, @jack c., @noynekker, @John Vere, @treesha, @David Sprouse, @Bajan Blue, @Douglas Kirby, @mark skinner, @bjornpdx, @Miguel Carzola, @DeeringAmps & @Lynn Wilson Thanks all so much. So sorry if you weren't notified of my response because I failed to use the@ function so that you get notified. I think I got all who were kind enough to listen. If I missed anybody, so sorry. ๐Ÿ˜€John B
  12. Thanks, Lynn-Means a lot. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜€JB
  13. Excellent work on an interesting topic, Lynn. The tune and the video are both very well produced. Around my area (southeastern Pennsylvania) we've been seeing more and more Cicada Killers which are hornets about 3 to 4 times the size of regular hornets. They're very intimidating in appearance. A yard about a block away from me has an infestation. Not only are they flying all over the yard but are burrowing large holes all over the guy's grass. But there is a noticeable shortage of honeybees all over the USA. A trend I hope doesn't continue. Many people do not realize just how important to humanity these little guys are. ๐Ÿ™‚John B
  14. Thanks, scook. ๐Ÿ˜€ I downloaded the Command Center but it would not take my username and password from either the old or new accounts so I'm just going to pass on it for now. I didn't use them much anyway and it's not worth the trouble right now. ๐Ÿ™‚JB
  15. I bought a new PC for my music. I reinstalled CbB to the new system and upon opening some projects from a few years back I found that the Bluetubes were missing? Did I just miss downloading them from another location in Bandlab or were they discontinued? John B.๐Ÿ™‚
  16. Never mind. Forgot to plug in the PC end. Senior moment. ๐Ÿ˜
  17. Hi; I would be forever grateful to anybody who can tell me where (what folder) Focusrite interface drivers need to be installed to on a Windows 10 PC. They are not going to where they need to go on my new PC Thanks John B๐Ÿ˜€
  18. I wasn't running CbB at the time, just a WAV file through Media Player. The HDMI connection was from the PCs video card into the video monitor HDMI input. I don't understand why the video connection is affecting the audio. Thanks for your input, Glenn. ๐Ÿ™‚JB
  19. Today I disconnected my SVGA connection from my PC to my monitor and tried the HDMI to see what would happen. Both PC and monitor have both. On the HDMI the PC booted up fine and everything seemed to load, including my Scarlet 6i6. All seemed fine until I played a sound file. The sound file looked like it was playing as the seek bar was moving but there was no sound. I went into Control Panel and the drivers appear loaded but there was no sound produced on either speakers or headphones. When I switched back to the SVGA everything went back to normal and the sound file played fine. I tried this several times with the same results. Then, I swapped the Scarlet with my old UX2 Pod Studio with the HDMI and everything worked OK, so it must be a Focusrite driver issue. Why would a video card connection cause audio not to work? I'm getting a new PC and I'm not sure, but I think it's going to lack an SVGA out to monitor, but I know it will have an HDMI. I'm hoping this anomaly won't show up on the new PC. Any thoughts? ๐Ÿ™‚John B
  20. Not in Cakewalk, but Audacity. Why?
  21. Thank you, Noel. ๐Ÿ™‚ John B
  22. Hi; I started a post several weeks ago about an IRQL error. This happens from time to time and the higher the bottom number (Memory) on the Cakewalk Performance Meter goes, the closer it gets to a crash. The error isn't always IRQL. Sometimes it's something like "System Exception" or something like that. I googled some of them and they are all related to memory. But when I check my Resource Monitor it stays the same in regards to memory. After the error resolves and they system reboots & the performance number goes down to about 8% and works its way back up. My question this time is, what does the bottom line of the Performance meter tell us? On my system it seems to be directly connected to how long it will be until a memory crash (BSOD) happens. It seems to be a warning system. Another interesting aspect is my Scarlet interface is a 6i6 which has AC power and I boot the PC up first before I switch on the Scarlet. The error never happens before I switch on the Scarlet. This indicates bad drivers but it also happens when I swap out the Scarlet for my old UX2 (which I've been told by Line 6 is also defective). Focusrite has had me try different drivers to no avail. Might I benefit from a new interface? My system specs are all on my sig. I'm running Windows 8.1. I will NOT upgrade to Windows 10 on this PC. This wasn't a problem before about a year ago so I doubt a new OS will be the answer. Wondering if anybody has any thoughts on this. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚John B
  23. Thanks Miguel. Glad you like it. Keep listening. ๐Ÿ™‚ John B
  24. Wish I could understand the words, but the song is way cool! Especially enjoy the chorus. ๐Ÿ™‚John B
