  1. Well starting with the basics, drivers don't kick in until the OS such as Windows loads them. So your latest update really shouldn't have caused any errors at the motherboard/BIOS level. You may be onto something with the temps. Do you have another M.2 slot you can move it to? Is there a heat sink for the M.2 drive?
  2. HWMonitor displays the current value/min/max for each sensor, so start it while your system is idle and let it settle at the min values before you begin stress testing. Then you can see how much the current and max values change from the idle baseline.
  3. Memtest86 is a great free tool to test and burn in your new memory! Boot it from a USB stick and let it run test passes all night. It's always a great feeling to see zero errors when it's finished! Another good tool to stress test your CPU and cooling is freeware Prime95. The torture test will run all of your cores at 100% utilization, with your fans at max RPM! You will quickly learn if your cooling plan is sufficient for a full load. https://prime95.en.lo4d.com/windows And you should run the free CPUID HWMonitor so that you can observe your temps, fans, and voltages in real time during the torture test. https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.htm
  4. Dang! That's a huge air cooler! Looks like the radiator under the hood of my car, LOL!!! 🤣
  5. Maybe now that all the other issues have (hopefully) been corrected, they will have time to address this. 🙄
  6. Well this got my attention:
  7. And if you really want to drill down and see what is using the most space on your drive, I highly recommend this free utility... Treesize free: https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free Want to Know Where Your Disk Space Has Gone? Get TreeSize Free! Even in the times of cheap terabytes a final truth remains: sooner or later every hard disk will near capacity. We have the solution. Use TreeSize Free to keep an eye on your disk space. TreeSize Free is compatible with any edition of Windows starting with Windows 8 / Server 2012 (32-bit and 64-bit).
  8. I set my page file manually to a few GB's. No problems here with 16 GB RAM!
  9. I have overcome those sort of issues with directory junctions (symlinks). Everything is happy on my secondary drive!
  10. Of course you did!
  11. You know with some installers, like those from AAS, Kilohearts, and PA, they are so fast and efficient that you may as well install your entire collection to ensure that you have the latest!
  12. I cannot state with certainty which release this issue originated with, only that I observed it with the most recent update. I have been asleep at the wheel since the group buy, apparently... 🙄
  13. I'm using a 2i2 3rd gen on my main PC. It's been very solid, and I don't need a lot of analog inputs, mostly just a stable platform for in the box VSTi's...
  14. My Acer laptop died and I'm actually using WASAPI now on my new Dell Win10 laptop. But it's just a toy & mobile office for traveling. My real DAW is a desktop PC running Focusrite ASIO on a Scarlett USB. And if I was ever going to attempt any remote recording with the Dell laptop, I would unplug the Scarlett and take it along!
  15. I discovered that all of my PA products had updates on June 28th. Basically the same changelog as above for each of them. Take a look at the PA support page, and scroll down to the "Plugin Update History" and expand each of your products to see if they updated. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/support.html
  16. Is NI going to end-of-life the 1.x installer and push out the v2 to all? Is it recommended for all v1x user to upgrade now?
  17. The EZD3 Core Library updates are dated 2022-6-17. The EZdrummer 3 update v3.0.3 is dated 2022-6-28.
  18. Right! I started with a 250 GB SSD that was almost full. But I have installed all the programs that I ever plan to on this system, so the 500 GB just bought me some breathing room. At 280 GB used now, I have set a hard limit for myself of 300 GB used on "C:", or else something gotta go!!! 🤣
  19. ASIO4all works fine with an on-board audio chip, such as Realtek. You know, the type that ships in most consumer laptops. I used ASIO4all in my Acer laptop, but not for serious use. For me, it worked just OK for DAW playback using virtual instruments. Just don't try to use ASIO4all with a professional audio interface! FYI, Cakewalk did a market study way back during the Sonar Platinum years, and discovered that the majority of users launching Sonar were using on-board audio. What a surprise!
  20. 500 GB is plenty big enough for my system drive M.2 SSD. My current "C:" drive SSD is only 500 GB. I run a lean system drive that is 40% free space now. That means I can easily take scheduled nightly full system drive images and fit several of them (retain 3 days) on a 1TB external WD Elements HDD. My system drive only contains Windows 10, my programs, and my plugin DLL's/VST3's, etc. All of the other content and sample libraries that I use go onto my "D:" drive SSD (which is 2 TB currently). My download archives go onto another internal WD HDD.
  21. In my first comment on this issue I mentioned that only the patch details are missing from the browser (thus meant to imply that the original patch sound remains loaded). No need to reload the patch! The details are refreshed if you just browse to another patch name in the Syn 2 browser, but do not load it, & then browse back to the patch name you had originally loaded (the loaded patch name remains displayed at the top of the Syn 2 UI).
  22. Other hosts too. Checked it with Reaper and Studio One.
  23. Thanks for confirming it! It's not a showstopper by any means, but annoying that IK missed that one. IK "Coming Around Again".
  24. My MB is all ready to go for M.2 NVME. Checked the manual and only one of my two M.2 slots is shared with a SATA port, that gets disabled if the M.2 slot gets used. Even that's not an issue since I'm only using 4 of the available SATA ports as is. Got the M.2 drive in my shopping cart...
