SPAN is a free real-time “fast Fourier transform” audio spectrum analyzer plugin for professional music and audio production applications. 6. CRTIV Shumovick plug-in for professional music production applications produces a creative dynamic noise-floor padding effect. This effect is most effective on beats and synth sounds used in electronic music production – EDM, hip-hop and the like. The noise-floor effect created by this plug-in is correlated to the spectral content of the sound being processed. As a result, on beats, this creates mellow noise bursts that make bassdrum sounds a lot softer, with a bit of stereo-field enhancement effect. On synths, on the other hand, such noise-floor effect may boost the power and density of the sound. Shumovick can be also effective when used on sterile-sounding basslines where it can add a bit of “pillowy” noise background. In practice, Shumovick can be also used on acoustic drum buses adding “vintage” feel and aggression to them. Shumovick is, however, not as effective when used on full mixes, but can be also used on full mixes in some music genres. CRTIV Shumovick is a relatively CPU-demanding effect plug-in, so it requires a higher-end computer processor for a comfortable use. However, the CPU requirements can be lowered by adjusting plug-in’s processing band count. CRTIV Shumovick features: Noise-floor signal envelope controls Noise-floor signal equalization Selectable processing band count 64-bit floating point processing Preset manager Undo/redo history A/B comparisons Contextual hint messages All sample rates support Zero processing latency User interface color schemes Resizable interface Retina and HighDPI support CRTIV Shumovick is available for purchase online for US$39.95. CRTIV Shumovick is free for Voxengo Premium Membership owners. Demo version of CRTIV Shumovick can be downloaded freely at the Voxengo web site: https://www.voxengo.com/product/crtivshumovick/?eref=ml

  13. Here is the e-mail that was sent out: Today we have discontinued our PickPack Rent-To-Own model! Let me give you the Good News for all ACTIVE PickPackers first: If your PickPack plan was cancelled by us today - and we have cancelled ALL active plans a few minutes ago - you now OWN all 10 plugins you originally selected in your Pick Pack. Full and unlimited licenses. This one is on us! No further payments will be deducted from your credit card or PayPal, even if you have just started PickPack recently. Whatever the remaining balance for your PickPack plan would have been, this is our gift to you. Please note: If YOU have cancelled your Pick Pack in the past (or stopped paying, which is technically the same), you will unfortunately NOT get your 10 plugins as full licenses. We hope you understand. Now, why did we stop PickPacking? Something bigger, more flexible and ultimately better is coming July 15th! A few days ago we have already started to improve the Dynamic Discounts for those of you who love to simply buy plugins, and we have lowered many plugin prices recently as well. So buying plugins will be more affordable in between promotions from now on. Buy 6 plugins, get 60% off any day of the week, for example. Then - and this will be the main news next week! - we are about to launch a totally new system, which will enable each and everyone of you out there to use large numbers of our titles at really affordable pricing! We are sure you have seen some of the NEW plugins we are releasing July 15th. Lots of new brands, and a total of 14 new plugins to be released in July and August. We have seen many of you commenting on social media, worrying about how you will be able to access all of these plugins without breaking the bank. Don't worry, we've got you. We will present you with the Deal Of Your Lifetime next week! Over time, our portfolio has grown to 100+ plugins from 28 brands, and we are determined to make ALL of them available to as many people as possible, and as fair and affordable as possible, of course. Please stay tuned! Dirk & The PA Team
  14. I agree but at least this one is a "modernized" version: it has a side-chain HPF and a mix knob whereas the original doesn't have those features. Still, too pricey. I need a 19 dollar price. 😎
  15. MF sends you a card in the mail that has the serial number on it.

  17. I still have my eye on the "bx_XL V2" M/S mastering limiter for the 20 dollar voucher plus 9 dollars. It looks like a very interesting mastering limiter. But I'm going to wait until the last minute to purchase in case something more interesting gets put on sale.
  18. https://www.voxengo.com/product/correlometer/ 26-Jun-2019: Voxengo is happy to release version 1.1 of Correlometer, an analog-style stereo multi-band correlation meter plug-in for professional music production applications. Correlometer is available in AAX, AudioUnit, VST and VST3 plug-in formats (including native 64-bit support), for macOS and Windows computers. This version includes the following changes: Added horizontal lining. Added standard infrastructure elements, including preset manager. Fixed flickering during avg.time and band number changes. Fixed incorrect mouse-wheel behavior on the "Bands" control. Correlometer is a free analog-style stereo multi-band correlation meter AudioUnit, AAX and VST plugin for professional music production applications. It is based on correlation meter found in PHA-979 phase-alignment plugin. Multi-band correlation meter is an advanced way to check for presence of out-of-phase elements in the mix. Broadband correlation metering reports overall phase issues and may misrepresent problems present in select spectral bands, while multi-band correlation meter easily highlights problems present in mid to high frequencies that are not easily heard by ear, but may still reduce clarity of the mix. Another application of multi-band correlation metering is phase- and time-aligning of channels and tracks, especially bass and bass-drum pairs, guitar mic and D.I. source pairs, two-microphone stereo recordings, etc. Correlometer can display 4 to 64 individual spectral bands, with adjustable band quality factor that controls the degree of band’s selectivity. Averaging time of correlation estimator can be adjusted. Correlometer supports side-chain inputs for easy correlation estimation between separate audio tracks. Correlometer features: 4 to 64 band correlation meter Adjustable band quality factor Adjustable averaging time Side-chain input Resizable user interface All sample rates support Zero processing latency User interface color schemes Retina and HighDPI support Correlometer can be downloaded freely at the Voxengo web site: https://www.voxengo.com/product/correlometer/?eref=ml
  19. It works. I use it when I get a one-mic'ed acoustic guitar track that needs to be wide in the mix. You have to adjust the knobs to get the best sound for whatever instrument you are using it for. I think it uses a combination of Haas effect and comb filtering to get the stereo field. It is mono compatible.
  20. It was a great show. The workshops were great. The SW staff was super friendly and helpful. They had continuous shuttle busses from the parking lot to the event. I never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. Typically, it was a five-minute wait. All the various mfg's had outdoor tents with their gear: Roland, Yamaha, Bose, Gibson, Fender, Shure, etc all had tents. Mfg reps and/or SW sales reps were there to talk and answer questions. There was an "open box" tent where deals were to be found. There was also a "flea market" tent with gear for sale from private individuals. Lots of food trucks were there. I brought sandwiches and pop in a cooler from home and rode the shuttle back to my car for lunch. Parking and getting into the event was free. SW also supplied free bottled water in ice bins. The weather was perfect: no rain and not too hot. I'm definitely going back next year. I may take advantage of the free field they provided for tent campers, and camp there so I can stay both days. 😊
  21. I'm going. It is a 4 hour drive from Cleveland. This will be the first Gearfest for me. Plus, I've never been to Sweetwater so that in itself should be a good time.

  23. K12U and K12UCE (Collectors Edition) are both the same price for the upgrade. Why would someone not get the CE? It has more content. Am I missing something here?
  24. Oops, I thought I was posting on the CH forum! Anyways, trivia question: what was the name of the midi controlled, rack mount, sampled bass player (rompler) that had interchangeable eprom chips that you plugged into a ZIF socket? I almost bought one back in the day... too expensive, though. I think it was between 3 to 4 hundred dollars in 1985 money.
