  1. I don't know where you this pulled this arbitrary $100.00 figure from. And you say it doesn't include Melodyne or Izotope, what makes them the exceptions, because you think they're so 'advanced'? Anyway here's a perfect example for you. The latest plugin I tried that I'm considering buying well over $100.00 is Vertigo's VSC-3 comp. It kicks ass & totally worth the coin for me, maybe not for you. I could think of several more but the point is moot.

  4. It's relative. A deal is only 'good' if it warrants it for the user. There are plugins I'd spend more than $100.00 on rather buying ones costing less that I might not need or ever use. DRM rarely comes into mind for determining a purchase, unless it's totally whack.
  5. This is the latest maintenance update for all Cubase 10 versions. In addition to several fixes, 10.0.20 includes improvements for the color handling, the context menus, the hitpoint detection and other areas within Cubase 10. A number of plug-ins have been updated to include updated graphics for high resolution displays... some of them even have had a complete re-design. Our tip: check out the updated ModMachine. downloads- https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/downloads/cubase_10.html

  7. I tried it out this morning, it's an excellent plugin. Easy to use, fully featured. If I didn't already have a few of the same quality I'd probably buy it. Think there might be a few issues with it though. It acted & sounded a bit strange, could be minor release bugs. I need to spend a bit more time with it but overall a solid release.
  8. Could be I'm thinking of another dev. although I thought there was some type of offer around the time of the Plate release.
  9. I haven't tried this yet buy I'm sure it's a good plugin. One might consider it a deal at $100.00. I just meant there's no intro price for this new release.
  10. Right, not a deal it's the regular price. I only remember him doing few sales in the past.
  11. $50.00 is the price point for all his paid plugins.
  12. Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun ValhallaDelay is our take on classic and modern delay and echo units. Tape Echo, BBD, old-school digital, pitch shifting - we've got you covered. ValhallaDelay offers the classics, and expands them into new dimensions, with the unique Ratio and Quad delay styles, the Ghost mode (which adds frequency shifting), and a powerful diffusion section that can create anything from smeared echoes to ethereal reverbs. ValhallaDelay has seven different delay Modes: Tape: Modeled after vintage tape echoes, with all the features and quirks that were loved in the old hardware. HiFi: A higher fidelity Tape Echo, where the ability to precisely sculpt the sound is in your hands. . BBD: A dark, low fidelity bucket brigade delay model. Digital: A cleaner, higher bandwidth delay, with the ability to dial in digital dirt. Ghost: A Valhalla DSP original! Combines the tape model from the HiFi mode with frequency shifting and a unique diffusion algorithm, for sounds that will split your skull in two. Pitch: A digital delay with added pitch shifting. Perfect for micro-shifting vocals, adding harmonies to synths, creating vast shimmering soundscapes, or shrieking sounds that forever spiral upwards or downwards. RevPitch: Reverse pitch shifting! Everything that goes in, comes out reversed. Five tape Styles, for controlling the number of delay voices: Single: Same delay length & modulation for left and right channels. Dual: Independent delay lengths for left and right channels. Ratio: The right channel is set to a ratio of the left channel, and the feedback of left and right channels is mixed. Perfect for sounds that slowly transition from delay to reverb-esque. PingPong: A delay that bounces between the left and right channels, with the ability to set the left and right delays independently. Quad: Models the multi-head tape echoes of the 1960s and 1970s, with up to 4 delay taps on tap. Cool features: Delay lengths ranging from 0 msec to 20 seconds. Dial in choruses and flangers, slapback echoes, longer delays, or long Frippertronic loops. Sync the delay to the beat, with straight/dotted/triplet options. Or, control the length via milliseconds. Age control, for adjusting the artifacts of the delay mode. Clean and shiny, old and dusty, or anywhere in between. Powerful Diffusion section, that can be used to smooth out the attacks of delays, or can be an amazingly smooth and lush reverb in its own right. Up to 20 seconds of diffusion time possible! Era control, for selecting between different variants of the delay modes. Available NOW! $50.00 https://valhalladsp.com/shop/delay/valhalladelay/
  13. Actually there is a sale going on, Ethnic Inspiration and Solo Opera special pricing until April 30. Also Orchestral Tools is delighted to report that Organic Samples is now available exclusively at Orchestral Tools.
  14. My first Brass library was Sam Horns using GigaStudio back in 2002. They were updated to Classics for free & they're still in my templates today. I've always like their sound, think they're priced fairly. I use them along with VSL, Albion, HW Brass; each have their own +/-.
  15. I agree, inexpensive doesn't always mean a good buy & vice versa. I'd rather invest in a great plugin I'll use rather than ones that will end up being used only once then forgotten about only because they're a good deal. I learned that lesson a few years ago when my plugin count reached well over 2500!. Add up those seemingly great deals & you'll find you could buy the ones you really wanted instead. I've been removing many plugins off my system altogether. I typically use use the same basic type eq's & comps, if they don't get me where I need to be it's usually a problem in the audio track itself. My projects in Cake starting around 2000 were made using 16b 44k, many of the internet collaborated files made back then by others were 192 mp3s! Also learning along the way my files were not always recorded properly as well. Nothing out there will help some of those poor quality files! Now it's demo & buy only what I'll really use in the next coming years. If one higher priced plugin replaces 5 others I already may have that fall short then to me that's the better deal in the long run.
  16. I can understand that, a few other things with Acustica's technology besides the cpu hit. I'm also really like Vertigo's VSC-3 the more I use it. I'll be picking that up at some point for sure.
  17. Tim Petherick's for N4 for one, I demoed both few years ago & bought Tim's. Can't remember the differences but I know price was a factor, Tims was £25.00. Tight low end & sheen. It doesn't remind me of either Air or ProQ.

  19. What is a GYRATOR? Originally proposed in 1948, a gyrator is a type of electronic network that can be used at the heart of equaliser designs as an alternative to its even older inductor predecessor. Although inductors are still popular with some designers looking for a vintage sound, they have inherent issues like ringing and odd harmonics. On the other hand, gyrators can work better than the ‘real thing’ and give the designer more freedom, a factor put to work in the VSE-2 to create, among other things, a tube-like distortion spectrum. VSE-2Unique Features Discrete Gyrator EQ based Hardware emulation Tube like Distortion Spectrum up to 1% THD Smooth and Punchy Vintage Console EQ Sound Unique A.I.R Mode (Enhancement of the auditory threshold) 18 selectable frequencies Hi Pass Filter 10Hz-400Hz Cut & Boost steps +-: 1dB, 2dB, 3,5dB, 5,5dB, 8dB with proportional Q Frequency bands can be switched indepently to "Broad" (Low Q) Additional Input and Output Trims to Avoid Internal Clipping Issues in your DAW. 21. Purple2 suite includes of: -Purple2 P1 (Vintage tube-based, passive program Equalizer) -Purple2 PAA (Tube-based passive program Equalizer reissue) -Purple2 M5 (Classic mid range tube EQ) -Purple2 M5V (Vintage classic mid-range tube EQ) -Purple2 H2 (Vintage single channel tube EQ) You may be wondering why we are introducing another M5 into the Purple2 suite? This is a legitimate question, but very easy to answer: we challenge anyone to find two equal sounding units of this kind. The case of our M5 and M5V is a clear demonstration that two faithfully sampled versions of two different models can have differences in terms of sound. For this reason, when we had the original unit in our hands (from which we derived our M-5V), we were really pleasantly surprised and decided to offer you a new "vintage" plugin, very colorful, given its tube nature, and immediate operation. Plus, you get Purple2 H2, which is a passive tube EQ renowned for the ability to both boost and cut the low-end frequencies at the same time and to add an unmistakable analog flavor to your mix. This emulation is derived from a rare and vintage 2U single channel program EQ designed as a compact version of our Purple P1 with a more transparent character. Purple2 H-2 differs from its bigger sibling however, in that it has different peak boost curves but the same Class-A output stage as the M5 (mid-band EQ). Perhaps the most noticeable difference is the fixed bandwidth for the HF Boost and fixed high-cut at 12kHz. Early Access- Intro 99.00€ (REG. 199.00€) Free upgrade for previous Purple customers http://www.acustica-audio.com/store/products/purple
  22. Re-package, rename (Albion to Albion ONE) then release again for an additional £149.00 upgrade fee. I preferred the first release better too. They removed certain elements & the sound was different than the original.
  23. Maybe they plan on using the same tactics as they did with Albion?
  24. That's what I'm afraid of, that & becoming proprietary at some point.
