I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Channel 1 might be bass, Channel 2 might be piano. Putting everything in one channel means everything would be the same instrument.

Say I have a track selected. If I add events in the PRV, and I forget to set the channel to the correct track, the events go to the wrong track. And sometimes, I am looking at a track and seeing events the belong to a different track! What good is that? It could be much better.

Suggestion: When viewing controllers on a track in the PRV, when you go to add another (by clicking the + in the lower left corner) it would be very helpful if the channel defaulted to the current channel instead of always being Channel 1.

I think I'll try saving projects as CWP files and every now and then as a MIDI file to satisfy my illogical desire to be pure MIDI. That will be less work than constantly readjusting all the settings. Thanks for the help/comments.

I just grokked the smart grid feature! If you watch the Note Duration in the snap-to-grid panel, you can see it change as you zoom in and out of the PRV. I suggest one more option. Snap to Grid Lines. It seems much more intuitive...isn't that what the lines are there for?

I have to continually reset: -Metronome Count in. -Metronome Midi Note. -Local Snap to Grid settings in the PRV (number of ticks). -Recording Mode (overwrite). -Track View/Midi: Show Velocity check box. Does anyone know if there is a way to make these persist? After the first twenty times of resetting them, it starts to get a bit annoying.

I just made a bug report on that very issue. You think you are selecting two full bars, but CW is only selects the notes in the bars...if there is 'white space' before or after the first or last note, the selection shrinks! And that is what gets pasted.
