  1. true, and I'm guilty as charged. The new lindell series 80 is amazing DearVR - very niche but very good Focusrite channel is good VSM3 is recommended I use the Lindell 254 on everything Zo is the man for these kind of recommendations of course - check his video reviews edit: also never, ever buy at full price - there are frequent sales with massive savings ...and that's why we're here. edit v2: if you have money to spend TODAY then take a look at the arturia plugin collection - linked somewhere on this forum. I don't know if you have any other Arturia products as you may have a crossgrade offer. They sound first rate and it's a very good collection.
  2. spooky - I did the same and it said to update to 1.2.2 so I did, it downloaded and installed and normal service was resumed ? maybe today is the day to buy a lottery ticket
  3. If you run the portal it now downloads the correct version and releases you from the timeloop
  4. agreed - but they are US based so they don't normally account for that in the 'base' price. In the UK websites selling to 'home' users are obliged to include it.

    another legend gone

I sincerely apologise if you feel it's inappropriate - that wasn't my intention. And the death of anyone is tragic, whether or not you enjoyed their music doesn't really seem relevant, at least to my way of thinking. I'm flabbergasted as to why anyone would think it was posted as a joke. I leave it at that.

    PA Sub to Own

I don't think there is much wrong with the subscription model for some people - although I don't really believe that the $250 gives you that much extra. Depending on when you buy it might not even get you 1 plugin. I believe the problems with PA are in the way they are pushing that over people who like to "buy outright" (or buy a permanent licence to use) their software. As you have seen already with the voucher minimum spend, they can, and do, change their terms and conditions whenever they wish. Also as somebody who owns most of the PA plugs that they are likely to want there is zero incentive to rent as the price is the same. My personal feeling is that PA have changed quite a bit over the last few months, their support has been much less 'customer focused' and their main aim is just to maximise profit - and long term revenue. I have no objection to that as such, everybody deserves to make money from their work, but as somebody who has a lot of money invested in them already I'm disappointed to see this change of focus. Even our monthly vouchers are hard to spend.
  10. I shall give a try :) I only have the 2 BF freebies so it didn't seem worth it
  11. I don't think I installed the Sonokinetic Manager (?) - but if you log into their website you can download the update manually - they are fairly clearly flagged
  12. I must have missed this earlier in the week https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/12/arts/music/lyle-mays-dead.html
  13. might give this a go - plus you get the 2 AAS sound packs...

    PA Sub to Own

don't forget the "piotr conundrum" (copyright simon 2020 ) - there will NEVER be a right time to to actually use your voucher - when all the stars align and the wind is from the south west etc etc.
  16. run the XLN online installer to update https://www.xlnaudio.com/support/xo-1-1-3-february-05-2020- apparently it's a from over a week ago....shows you how much I (don't) use it
  17. very quick update in case anyone is hesitating I'm not a reviewer like Zo, but I know what I like - these are very good. I paid 199 euro and zero buyer remorse.
  18. if it's any consolation - Larry even beat me to saying he'd posted that link earlier. I'm starting to think Larry may well be some kind of AI bot ?
  19. playing with it now ....sounding good minor whinge - why not install the pdf manuals locally ? PluginAlliance do this well. If you try to open the manual it sends you to the website - where you have to scroll to find it then open it. anyway back to the eval
  20. just downloading now - and yes I think $49 is no brainer
  21. update : same infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop - infinite loop
  22. for me: 14 new plugs for £175 - so about £12 per plug. Dunno what they sound like but I think Arturia do the prettiest looking stuff so that tipped me over the edge.
  23. I only had the christmas freebie - was 199 euros for me
