Hello
So I'm watching a Creative Sauce video on Matrix view and he pulls out SI bass. I have strings and piano, but where did bass come from?
I did my CbB install over old versions, but I didn't upgrade every version when it came out, so maybe I missed the one that Included SI bass.
Ideas?

I have both of those sample libraries. They come with some good midi grooves you can just drop into your project and manipulate them as desired.

Maybe something different like this could worth to check. Solos are somewhat baked but their elastic technology make it possible to rearrange them.

This looks great!

Ah, so that's what's been happening! Fortunately, my glaucoma is totally under control.
Unfortunately, font size is often dictated by the amount of screen real-estate available. You can't just make everything bigger without sacrificing some other information. And Cakewalk has no control over plugin vendors' font choices. Just don't get your expectations too high is all I'm saying.
I hate to say it, but for those of us with sub-ideal eyesight the best solution is indeed a bigger monitor. I just replaced two 22" monitors with a single 34" screen. Even though the total display area has been reduced, I can now read the text much better. No more sliding things down to the main monitor just to read them. Pretty happy now with two matching 34" displays. Unfortunately, they are mounted one above the other rather than side-by-side (not practical, as they'd block my speakers) and my neck gets sore after doing a long editing session on the upper screen.
@bitflipper and you know what they prescribe for glaucoma!
I found that the larger the monitor and the higher the resolution, the smaller the fonts seemed to get.
I posted for help and the recommendation I got was to actually make the change in my Windows display settings. Problem solved?
Fast forward x years, and I can't figure out why some of my 3rd party plug-in GUIs have a section of the window cut off-- sometimes removing functions.
Yeah, you're right. The Windows display settings!!
Now, I just stretch my neck forward to see the functions in CW. +1 if they would bake in text resizing!

Indiginus has multiple electric guitar VST instruments. Prices are $50 - $60 US for each instrument. All require the full version of Kontakt so they do not work with the free Kontakt player. Indiginus Home Page
This is starting to look more like what I'm after.
Thanks

A few free Kontakt things I got (via the deals forum on here I think), that have individual samples in them are 8Dio Post apocalyptic guitar, and 2 by Jakob Reinhardt Crispy Clean Strat, and US Dream Guitar. Not sure if that is what you are looking for, the samples are one note each. Not for Kontakt, but I wound up buying Ample Sounds Guitar Strat and like it. I am interested in the Generation by Indignus also not Kontakt.
Thanks. I saw the 8Dio stuff, but I'll check out the others too!

If you look at the mixer in kontakt you will probably see that the snare and the sidestick are in the same channel/track. AFAIK you can't assign them to separate outputs in CW.

Are you looking for a library pre-canned phrases, or just a library that can do a good rock solo guitar sound?
If it's pre-canned phrases you're looking for, I'm not aware of any (if anyone does know of any - please let me know!!)
You'll probably have more luck at producer loops or a similar loop library provider, where they have a bunch of "toolkit" type samples you can drag into your project and manipulate. However, they're not cheap, and IMO they're very limited in scope.
The best results I've had for guitar solos, believe it or not, is from Band In a Box.
[EDIT] - Just found one!! :
https://www.wesoundhuman.com/collections/kontakt/products/rock-starter-pack it's half price at $49 atm.
Thanks for this. I was hoping there was an electric guitar equivalent to something like NI Session Drummer or the other Abby Road drum samples where you can either play each sample from a midi controller or use the midi grooves with drag n drop.
Not looking like such a thing exists. I'm mostly looking for rock guitar solos. (actually I'm only looking for solos) but I figured they'd be bundled with other stuff like strumming, chords, etc.

Hello
I'm looking for a recommendation for rock electric guitar solo samples for kontakt, preferably <$100.
If strumming is included, that's fine.
Thanks!

Hello
One of the posts, or poles on one of my Seymour Duncan pickups is really low down, almost below the pickup housing.
Is there a way to raise an individual post/pole?
Thanks

As an update, I did this last night and it worked flawlessly.
I wonder how many people know about this?
Thanks again all!

Basically it cost money to do it right. The Fishman triple play etc. I have a Godin guitar with the built in HEX pick up system and can send midi via my Roland GR 50 guitar synth module. But that system new would be well over $2,000. Anyhow, It still doesn't result in a "guitar strumming" midi track much better than just using the built in strums found on Strum Session. Midi is just not THAT organic. Requires heavy editing to fix all the glitches.
The trouble with guitar to midi no matter what the system is you have to play very, very precisely and clean with perfect pitch and picking attack . The pitch to midi conversion in real time demands a lot of processing power. It works like a guitar tuner. You probably have one and realize that you need to feed most of them a clean note for them to work. Especially the cheap ones.
I find it works best for simple one note melodies, but Melodyne will do this for free. But you need the Studio version to edit chords and it's not cheap.
Hey @John Vere
I've got the Godin LGXT. Which one do you have? (I have the same guitar synth too)

Can you not just create a project template from the old project, and use that moving forward?
Probably, but my new project is already a bit under way.

Hello Group
I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question because I feel like I should know this by now. (I'm not in my studio right now and I didn't see the documentation on the CW site).
I setup my screensets in my last project exactly the way I wanted them. Now, I'm starting a new project and the screensets aren't there and the import function is grayed out.
I'm guessing I missed a step in saving the screensets from my old project. This is where I need some help.
Many thanks!

Outstanding!
Thanks buddy!

Hello Group
I never start a project at zero, and I use the m:b:f time counter.
I never know how long my track is until I export it.
Is there a trick or feature in CbB where I can measure the time length of a project while it's still being worked on (not done or ready to export)?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this acquisition as a potentially bad thing.
I love Boogie amps. I wish I could afford a new one, but my used DC3 does the job.
My initial concern when I saw the news yesterday was that I hope Gibson doesn't drop Boogie on its head like they did Cakewalk.
Was Mesa Boogie in financial trouble? I know what the press release says, but that's always the glossy front a company spins to make everything look good.
Anyway, I know this forum is more light-hearted and punny, but just wanted to share.
I worked a bit for GC years ago at a store that carried Boogie. Boogie wouldn't allow discounts, no exceptions. They were the only vendor that did that.
My dream is Boogie amps keep their unique quality and their prices go down, a lot. Shh, don't wake me up!

Thinking of getting maudio oxygen pro for midi and daw control. Does Sonar support maudio oxygen pro as a daw controller?
Thanks
Paras.
AFAIK you'll just be assigning faders and pots with the learn features in CW. It's fairly universal so I'm sure you can use it as a controller in CW.

Hello Group
Just curious which algorithm you use on distorted guitar chords? I've tried melodic and polyphonic. I just seem to be getting way too much data with polyphonic.
Thanks!
