  1. I keep forgetting I have TH3. I always reach for Guitar Rig 5 or POD Farm Gold. I have to mess with it more. What do you think about its sounds compared to GR5 and PF?
  2. Don't know what your input requirements are, but this USB-C interface by SSL looks really interesting, and at a great price point. I have the Echo Layla 3G as well, but I know it's out of production and not supported any longer. It's only a matter of time before I'll be forced to get a new interface.
  3. I have a question. Can't you assign a different MIDI channel to each MIDI controller, and then assign the corresponding channels to the soft synths you want to drive? I have the same MIDI controller (I think) and changing the MIDI channel is a pain to remember. That's why I have the keep the manual handy. Rant over. Curious.
  4. Sweetwater did a review of the two models and it's on YouTube. I was pretty impressed. I don't see that anyone else is, so I won't post the link here, but worth looking into before I buy my next interface.
  5. Hey Group-- I was really excited to get an email that SSL started making smaller USB audio interfaces. Then I saw the really, really low price and my knee-jerk reaction was, uh oh. What's everyone's thoughts on these? EDIT: Here's SSL's site with the details. Still wanted to show the retail price with the above link.
  6. Hello Sven-- I've used UAD plugins in CW for many years without any scanning issues. My biggest task is removing all of the listed UAD plug-ins that I haven't purchased, but that's only a short-term inconvenience that's easy to remedy. (Now WAVES plugins is a whole different story!) There might be something else going on with your DAW--but it's not a UAD or compatibility issue.
  7. Hey Group-- I have to chime in here because I had an experience that I think is worth mentioning. I submitted my work for online evaluation and heard the critiques of it in real-time. Ouch, yes, but helpful. You see, I had recorded the acoustic position of my Godin LGXT electric guitar which uses saddle pickups. They are top-of-the-line, but multiple (lots) of people listening to the track noticed it was a DI and not a mic'd acoustic and the responses were unfavorable. One comment was that a $100 acoustic guitar mic'd would sound better than acoustic saddle pickups using DI. Lesson learned, and I now mic my acoustic guitar. I also want to add (and if someone mentioned this I missed it) that mic placement is important too. As a noob, I thought I wanted that mic right in front of the sound hole. Not so much. That's where all the noise and thuds come from. You want it near the hole, but not right in front of it. There are many articles on mic placement, but this one is fairly comprehensive overall. Keep trying! None of us sounded great doing anything at first--I promise you that. In fact, I would say that if many of us could go back and listen to our first few works, we would say they suck by today's standards, and probably the standard of the day when they were recorded. That's how you get better. You try new stuff.
  8. Well, guess I'm the only one. As an update, if I hit ctrl+s and save the project and then try to close CW 1 second later, I'm still prompted if I want to save the project. :-(
  9. Re: 2019.12 Feedback So far things seem OK, but there is one small issue I noticed since this update. I've used ctrl+s to save for longer than I can remember. Now when I do that, when there have been no changes since the last save, when I go to exit the project, I am prompted by CW if I want to save the project y/n? Just kind of weird.
  10. Hello Group I have a midi high hat where I manually went in and changed each note's velocity to make it sound human. Now I want to reduce each note's velocity by the same amount but I want each note to maintain its velocity in relation to the other notes. As an example, if the hi hat notes are 100, 90, 95 and I want to drop them all by 5 and end up with 95, 85, 90. How's that done? Thanks, Stephen
  11. Yeah, I'm only adding completely mastered audio tracks to Vegas. Not sure if you're adding tracks to the vid in Cakewalk, but you might want to look into a current version of Sound Forge. It handles multi- tracks and unless I'm mistaken, can integrate into Vegas as your audio editor. http://forum-archive.magix.info/showmessage.asp?messageid=907690
  12. Yeah, and we're waiting on the 3D too! I want those instrument icons to come out and smack ma! 😜
  13. I'm not sure if this is expected, but when I added the quotes file it reset my display timeout to 10 seconds. I put it back where I had it and now it's all good.
  14. Hello Group Thinking of asking for W10 for Christmas. Anyone done an in-place upgrade from 7 to 10 and everything was cool with your CW projects? Support ending and not being able to upgrade my video software are my main reasons. Thanks!
  15. I did end up using a patch from AAS Plastic Pop collection. OT, but it's really strange that when I record that synth, it's recording an audio file and not a midi file. I typically like to record in midi for editing and a/b patches. What did I do wrong there?
  16. That's the one I have. The Plastic Pop collection. I'll look through it again. Thanks!
  17. Awesome, thanks. I have AAS, but not that patch. I'll look for it.
  18. Hello-- I'm referring to the high range key you hear playing a lead melody right when the song starts. I also know enough about music video production to know you can't rely on what instrument's being "played" in the video to actually be the instrument in the recording. I just thought a fan or someone with the actual synth might know. I like the sound. I had something similar with a Korg Poly 800 II back in the day.
  19. I almost bought me something like this before BL took over. The thing is, as new functions are introduced into the software, your keyboard shortcut labels become obsolete. Logitech = https://logickeyboard.com/shop/cakewalk-sonar-editing-pc-keyboards-992c1.html
  20. ?? of course. Start/stop the play head.
