Simeon Amburgey Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) OK, things are getting very close and I am very excited to be putting this together. Thanks all of you for the suggestions and support. Special thanks to @synkrotron, @Grem, @Matthew Sorrels and @Jim Roseberry Can’t wait but moving slowly to make sure I get it right. Special thanks to be quiet! for the case and power supply. Edited December 11, 2019 by Simeon Amburgey 2 1
John Bohlen Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 You think 600W for the power supply is enough? 1

Man, I was just thinking through that just now.? be quiet! sent me the power supply in the picture above but I had purchased their 700w before they send the other one. So I might keep this 700w just to be safe. 1
synthmeister Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Awesome build. Tom's hardware estimates 9900k idle at 13 watts and torture test at 249 watts with 5.0GHz overclock (I think you would need a more serious cooling lol). If you run less/no overclock, power consumption is much lower. 700 watt should be fine IMHO although if you are using the CPU and GPU aggressively, you might want a bit more headroom. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-core-i9-9900k-9th-gen-cpu,5847-11.html https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator https://www.evga.com/power-meter/ 1
Grem Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 @Simeon Amburgey my build is going slowly too! Wanting to be sure so I am taking my time, and as I try to take my time and do a good job, life happens! This is the longest build I have ever done!! 1
