This has happened fairly quietly.

Personally I’m excited I own several DW bits and they are quality kit. The emergence of hybrid drum kits and a mix of Roland e-Drum tech and DW hardware and drums shells. Oh the possibilities…

It's a cymbal of the economic times. A re percussion of being snared in a world where we all must dance to the beat of only one drummer - the relentless, monotonous dirge that is climate change  - aka the  Al Gore Rhythm.

People were excited when Roland bought Cakewalk too.....

I think we should not equate that disaster, which was honestly surprising considering Roland’s initial interest in hardware for DAWs. Roland and DW do really well on drums.

Some people were equally elated when Gibson took over Byron.

In fact, I think it may have been the same chap.

At the risk of sounding dumber than all you guys already know I Am ... Who/What is DW?

Drum company. Like Ludwig, Tama, Yamaha.... you get the idea.

My apologies, being a multi instrumentalist I do take some knowledge for granted. DW stands for Drum Workshop and they make higher end drums and hardware in the US.
