user6851820567124302
Hi. I hope somebody can help me (please). I'm using sonar for a few years. This year began the problems. Before now, Sonar X3e works very fine. First I must use with administrator privileges for use Miroslav Philarmonik 1 (or open it without sounds). A lot of popping with Miroslav Philarmonik 2 (I did talk with Philarmonik support and we did all and Sonar still with problems). After that, Sonar began with crashes with Philarmonik 2. Then crashes randomly with or without Miroslav. Now I have no sound at all. Just a pop when I press play. And crashes opening a existing proyect. Sound card works fine with everything else (video, audio, movies, games...), but Sonar X3e. I did reinstall Windows 10 (64b). Did not work. I did reinstall Sonar X3e several times. Did not work. I did reinstall All VST and all the sounds. Did not work. I did reinstall sound card drivers. Did not work. I tried install ASIO4ALL drivers. Did not work. I tried say a lot of bad words. Did not work. I tried open projects with shift and open vst one by one. Did not worrk. I can do nothing now. None, zero. Toddskins
Did it ever work in Windows 10? I use X3e in Win 7 just fine.
Brando
There are lots of posts about issues with sound blaster based sound cards being hosed by Windows 10. Just one example below. There are lots of low cost audio cards our there that would be a better choice for SONAR than what you are trying to use. May want to consider upgrading to Cakewalk by Bandlab while you are upgrading too. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/lost-sound-after-latest-windows-10-update/92063df1-e228-4e68-a5b0-ee9bb9c891aa Edited March 1, 2019 by Brando
scook
Probably won't make a difference... Rename AUD.ini in %appdata%\Cakewalk\<SONAR version> Try other driver modes
user6851820567124302
Thank you. I did, but still the same problem opnening a proyect: I tried driver modes before, didn't work.

chuckebaby
For what its worth, Sonar X3 was never supported Windows 10. Windows 10 was released in 2015, Sonar X3 2013. I mean it should work. but you have to take that into consideration when adding up the abnormality's.
user6851820567124302
Did work perfect until a few month. I did try with win8 compatibility but is the same.
scook
Are Windows and SONAR set to the same sample rate? Does X3 work with the internal sound chip?
user6851820567124302
Hi. Looks like all ok: I tried 44100, 48000, 96000 and is the same, can't ear the projects:

Starship Krupa
Dump Sonar 3Xe for heaven's sake! Every minute you spend farting around trying to get it to work now that you can use Cakewalk by Bandlab for free is wasted time unless you're on one of those TV shows where you live in primitive conditions in order to win a prize. "So, user6851820567124302, how is your project to attempt to use the technology of the early '10's to create orchestral music on a computer coming along?" You have Miroslav 2 and a 3.5GH i7 with 24GB of RAM to run your DAW on, why are you insulting them by using a DAW from 6 years ago? If your system were working fine and you didn't want to touch it, I'd get it, or if it cost a lot to upgrade to Cakewalk, I'd get it, but your system is hosed and you're trying to get the obsolete version of the program to work? Don't do that, that's a waste of time and computer resources! Throw Cakewalk on there and you can even get help from Bandlab staff. And it's a better program. msmcleod
Sonar X3e Producer works fine for me on my Win 10 Laptop (Windows 10 Home 64 bit). I thought at first I may be running as Admin or with some compatibility options, but I'm not. However, even using WASAPI the buffer size has to be at maximum. CbB is is practically at the minimum buffer size. There's no contest really - by all means install X3e to get the extra plugins / softsynths, but use CbB. Base 57
X3 works on Win 10. I have SPlat, X3e, 2, 1 and Sonar 8.5 on my Win 10 machine. They all work fine. I am with @scook and @Chuck E Baby ; delete the "Aud.ini" file. (If that doesn't work then perhaps more RAM an SSD and a few Waves plug-ins will.?) John Vere
Were's CJ when we need him? He'll tell you to take an elevator to the top floor of the tallest building in town and toss the Audigy card off! I speak from personal experiance... I wasted a year trying to get one to work. They just have terrible drivers, thats all. I just opened X3e on my W10 computer and other than it's missing a lot of stuff I now use, it works just fine. But I am using a proper ASIO audio interface so of course it will. My guess is a W10 update really trashed your Creative drivers.
user6851820567124302
I tried bandlab cakewalk. Ty for the tip. Exactly same problem. So, must be win10 with some update tha are creating a issue with creative drivers. Sucks.
