All things being equal, CbB (aka Cakewalk by BandLab) was previously known as Cakewalk SONAR Platinum which was around for over 20 years. When Meng acquired the Cakewalk assets he chose to make it free and it's highly unlikely he would ever close it (in yours or my lifetime).

However, nothing is certain and those who love Reaper or Studio One or Cubase or any other DAW, could ask the same question and the answer is the same.

'85 for me. TR-505 and Juno 2 keyboard. As a starter, with some off brand MIDI Sequencer for the IBM PC. After the sequencer company went under I bought Voyetra Sequencer Gold Plus before getting Cakewalk PA3 and on and on and on.

My (now, ex) wife and I were in the Chicago airport and we noticed The Crash Test Dummies (of the Mm Mm Mm Mm fame) were there too. 

I've never asked for an autograph, but she was star struck. I have their second CD (which was in my travel case at the time) with all but one of the members autograph (IIRC it was the drummer who was travelling separately) thanks to her.

To my ancient ears listening on Sennheiser HD-600 headphones, the references mix is cleaner (less muddy especially when the full band comes in).

By cleaner I mean all the instruments have more definition.

I was Grammy considered for everything I ever recorded. 

Then they reconsidered.
