Ok @Noel Borthwick .. Im just replying here so all can see .. I just tried out this new ( not released as of yet ) Audient ASIO Driver that was sent to me by AUDIENT earlier. As per our remote session last monday, to work around the issue at hand, you had changed the DEFAULT FORMAT ( in windows SOUND SETTINGS playback driver properties ) to 44,100 Hz to coincide with the same setting in CW for the projects. meaning temp wise, if any tracks in CW were at say 48000 or 96000 then this manual trick would need to be applied each time. With the new driver installed I deliberately changed the DEFAULT FORMAT to 96,000 Hz as you can see in the image below & also DEFAULTED the EVO 4 for Windows rather than the built in REALTEK . I then loaded CW and loaded a few of the projects we were testing with. ALL PLAYED FINE, no more drop outs. It does look like they have resolved the issue with this driver. I will try the same thing on my LAPTOP later on and see if result is the same. As an aside I also noted that in CW prefs / Playback & Recording, with ASIO set as Driver Mode, it was also listing the FL Asio Driver. In fact when I launched CW it gave me an error about that FL Asio Driver .. I simply removed the FL Asio Driver in Programs and Features. Error gone. I have no doubt better off with that gone anyway, stick with the AUDIENT ASIO driver in all apps

Fair enough BUT for most hobbiests RME stuff is significantly more expensive than others - ST£850 + for an interface https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=rme&crid=1SDOGCUT4JY87&sprefix=rme%2Caps%2C145&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-a-p_2_3 Maybe if you are making money out of your music like commercial recording etc then OK ..

Yip. Big multi function rotary knob top of EVO also with 5 function buttons controlled by it. The back has the 2 XLR/Full Jack inputs in the middle and 2 full jack out puts for speakers etc. And yes one Headphone jack at front but as i am through my sony stereo amp with source direct feature that gives me the 2nd Headphone Jack if needed I like its size though - about 3.5" across, 1.5" back to front, 1.5" height ( approx ). Easy to move around, solid feel to it, though plastic. Taking it out and about good too because everything except for that big rotary knob on top is flush, but even that is solid, so wont catch off anything in a bag. I move it from my Desktop to my laptop and back daily.

@chris.r I wouldnt let this "hiccup" turn you off the EVO 4. As a guitar player particularly, same goes for BASS and any other stringed instrument .. the full jack JFET DI interface is the job, plus as you said the very low roundtrip latency possible. As noel outlines above in the meantime there is a workaround that isnt too stressful https://evo.audio/products/evo-4/features/

https://audient.com/ https://evo.audio/products/evo-4/features/ https://evo.audio/products/ https://audient.com/products/audio-interfaces/id4/overview/ Hi guys, I HAVE STARTED THIS THREAD AS I NOTE A FEW HERE ( AND ON FACEBOOK CW GROUPS ) EITHER HAVE OR ARE CONSIDERING GETTING AUDIENT INTERFACES LIKE MENTIONED IN TITLE TO WORK WITH CAKEWALK. DO NOT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF THESE INTERFACES ( there is a workaround detailed in Noels response below in the meantime ) During the early access program thread ( now closed ) for the 2021.01 update I brought up an issue i was having with my new AUDIENT EVO 4 Interface, the ASIO DRIVER, which was producing Dropouts ( Error 0 ) when ever I used it to the point the minute a project was loaded I would get dropouts and even hangs. SO @Noel Borthwick kindly liased resulting in a remote session and concluded the issue was definitely the AUDIENT ASIO Driver and the way it was written, IT IS NOT A CAKEWALK ISSUE. Here is Noels thoughts: I have been back and forward with AUDIENT about this ( CCing Noel ) and they have now sent me a BETA new driver to try saying: "Our software team have released a new driver version, V4.1.10, which should alleviate problems with poor performance in some DAWS" So I will try this and report back. I noted the driver link is to an ID4 driver, I have asked them does this matter as I dont have an ID4, I have an EVO 4. However I just tried this and it seems to work but thats only from a quick test, will get more comprehensive when i have time later on ( its 11am here in Ireland, so work ) PS - The Evo 4 works fine using WASAPI and other Driver modes. ASIO is the issue and the driver

There is this as something to get and then Carbon electra FREE along with it: https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/58-Inst-Bundle/7218-ImPerfect-Expansions-Bundle ImPerfect & Expansions Bundle - $16 "You can now get ImPerfect along with all expansion packs, giving you ImPerfect with a huge amount of brand new additional presets, in one unique package." -
Sorry for that @Wibbles .. But hey its a good addiction if you make the most of it and get the 26 free samples everyday. You will build up a nice library AND the advantage is all are stored in your Cloud Library in the LC App and dont need to be downloaded to CW until they audition/work with a track. Plus if you go with a plan you build up a heck of alot of points every month that can used to buy more sample packs. All stored in the cloud after purchase. Dont forget with plans you also get 50GB+ of space in your library to upload your own samples and free up space on your HD.

Yip .. I am seeing quiet a few Client older systems with Windows 10 20H2 issues .. My own Dell i5 Inspiron 17" laptop is in this boat. I attempted once to upgrade to Windows 10 20H2, ended up with the bluescreen repair stuff on reboot .. had to revert back to the previous 2004 and left it at that since. I will not upgrade to Windows 10 20H2 until forced to do so. It is still as an OPTION to install in the Windows Update window, I will not be taking that option for the moment

Sonar and Cakewalk versions and I'm confused.
aidan o driscoll replied to Bad Mac's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
So keep your X3 installed alongside so as to have access to the extras that came with that at the time. CbB install then picks up all the extra instruments etc installed by X3. Leave X3 installed .. doesnt take up much room, you wont be using it, just there to give you access in CbB to the stuff you got with X3 that was not be licenced by or wasnt bought out by Bandlab in 2018. BUT you still own legit because you bought X3 at pre that time and have a right to use still -
How is it up against the UJAM stuff?

audio engine Take Lanes cause Audio Engine to Crash [FIXED]
aidan o driscoll replied to FIP GeBall's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Hi @Noel Borthwick ... I would need to recreate but Im sure it was 1. As i think I solved it by replacing one of the 2 incidents of Cherry Audio DCO-106 with an Arturia 2600 VSTi playing the same line. So as mentioned by @chris.r it looks like its a DCO issue rather than CW? However out of interest I will try 2 separate DCO incidents in Ableton and Reason, see if same issues. For the giggle by all means download the Cherry Audio DCO106 demo and try it and see? https://cherryaudio.com/instruments/dco-106 It seems to be related to this in DCO106 actually. The number of voices, so happens for certain patches: When DCO tracks frozen still glitches a bit the odd time, but would need to solidly verify that. OK, I deleted the 2 incidences of the DCO from the track, glitch free ( when i say glitch I mean track while playing would crackle and/or momentarily lag, start/stop while playing with other tracks ) -
audio engine Take Lanes cause Audio Engine to Crash [FIXED]
aidan o driscoll replied to FIP GeBall's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
After much investigation I have narrowed down my issue to this. Take lanes causing Audio engine drop out. I have a small few tracks though. 2 Audio tracks with wav loops and then 2 tracks with Cherry Audio DCO-106 VSTi synth, ONE of the DCO-106 tracks has 2 take lanes with midi. If I play the track soloed, after 2 loop arounds the audio engine drops, while playing its glitching. If I delete the 2 take lanes, rest of project plays seamlessly. I have an AUDIENT EVO 4 I/F .. latest drivers and firmware. I have increased the ASIO Buffer size to 2048, still glitching but not dropping out. Its a core i5 Dell Inspiron with 16GB ram, nvidia card with own memory, 2TB Hybrid Drive. Any ideas? EDIT .. Im beginning to wonder is it a Cherry Audio issue. I just moved the track contents inc take lanes over to an Arturia 2600 V3 track, no problems here, no dropouts, no glitchy sounds. On the DCO I was using the TAKE ME ON patch. I have another DCO track using AMBIENT KEYS patch. Once I moved the errant track from the DCO to the 2600, all other tracks play fine at 512 buffer size SO maybe its the PATCH & a setting there in?? -
Clicks and dropouts on new rig
aidan o driscoll replied to David Grammerstorf's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
@David Grammerstorf I am encountering the same issue on my Core i5 laptop ( 16gb ram, nvidia card, 2tb hybrid drive ). My audio I/F is a new Audient EVO 4. I cannot play through a whole track without hearing distorted sounds, drop outs ( Audio Engine Dropout 18 ) even if I solo each track. Like you I have the latest updated drivers for evo, messed around with both sample rate and asio buffer sizes. No avail, same problem. I posted about this here a few weeks back, no real solution. I do reckon it seems to be under the latest CW update that this is happening. I am going to try the same vstis in Ableton and Reason now just to see if I get similar BUT I think I did that previously and it seems to be definitely particular to CW. I am using a wav bass drum audio track + 3 Cherry Audio DCO-106 synth track lines. I am now at a point that I cannot work with CW .. Actually can you downgrade CW to previous version? -
I assume being modelled the Arturia is alot more editable/tweakable?
-
As far as I know Arturia are actual coded Synth VSTi's and not relying on samples which the Syntronik does, a rompler?

Some companies suspending UK trade (could affect deals)
aidan o driscoll replied to Vernon Barnes's topic in Deals
Of course what some SOFTWARE companies could do and ARE doing is opening an EU office in the EU. Many are doing so in Dublin across the Irish Sea. Plus on mainland Europe. -

And now add this just breaking: So we could now have UK after Jan 1st trading with the EU on WTO rules until deal ratified in March .. So definitely that now means Tarrifs and Excise tween the 2 because WTO insists on this across all members and all members will insist, thems the WTO rulez .. ironically one for all and all for one, so much for taking back control and pure sovereignty -

Some companies suspending UK trade (could affect deals)
aidan o driscoll replied to Vernon Barnes's topic in Deals
Its not just tax regimes, its also way more paperwork adding to the product price of outgoing/incoming stuff. So buying online from UK biz could cost you extra excise and so on as UK from Jan 1st is a Third country where EU is concerned. TBH that deal is so thin .. Boris and Co for internal consumption are pushing it as biggest thing since sliced pan because they have to and spinning it accordingly, dont believe the hype. And another thing to seriously watch out for. Back around 2017 Theresa May at a big Checkers meet of her cabinet decided to NOT INCLUDE SERVICES in any deal with EU. She only included tangible goods trade type thing. The UK economy is 80% SERVICES and 20% Goods Trade, so the latter was the sacrificial lamb so to speak. The deal as of Jan 1st has no agreement ( only aspirations of future talks ) on how SERVICES will work between UK and EU, and in this regard all the cards are with the EU until a deal is struck on services. This thin Brexit deal is not really good for anyone. Im in Rep of Ireland ( which has part of UK on this Island - Northern Ireland ), we know this, lots of pain on the way even with a thin Brexit deal come Jan 1st. And as for Services eg City of London, financial, legal etc .. who knows
