@Bapu I would be a bit nervous of that .. I find DAT tapes are not the most robust of items. My unit works for me but if using it with DATs from others I would be a bit nervous if it damaged them like mangling the tape etc .. the issues with many tape type devices back in the day. As in there is a damage risk

Yip I have .. its a sony portable DAT and I just did exactly that recently. DATs I had from 90s. Only way of getting them off the Dat player is via a stereo mini jack into the Audio I/F ... works fine though. I also have orig I/O box for it but its outputs are coax and good old optical Only prob for you maybe .. Im in Ireland ( south coast Cork )

So back in the 80s BLANCMANGE had a good few tracks out topped by Living on the ceiling ( vid below ). Anyway they have a new album out called Private View, really like it, a definite grower. I like the simplicity + the space in tracks. Also the liberal use of arpeggios ... Sounds of Kraftwerk, Joy Division, Bowie. Whole album on youtube but also on Spotify, Itunes etc. all the sounds I would say you may find in the ARTURIA suite of VSTis LIVING ON THE CEILING:

@paulo I get what you are saying here but in this case I think Per Gessle really pulled it off while being very sympathetic with a familiar Fredriksson presence throughout. I would think Marie would be very proud of this album. Per really was/is the brains and creative behind Roxette. Maybe the slightly awkward looking bloke next to Marie holding the guitar but all the songs were his pretty much, he is the perfect pop song creator that was always a signature of Roxette. Have a Listen to "You hurt the one you love the most" ... its the new "Listen To Your Heart" ( bit of Phil Collins in there too ) As for the name remaining, my view is it keeps Marie there in spirit also. Listening to this album I can hear her all through it via the female vocals of Helena Josefsson and Dea Norberg. Have a read of this fan review. He pretty much has similar concerns to yourself: https://renownedforsound.com/album-review-pg-roxette-pop-up-dynamo/

Yes. Great pop material. But sadly @craigb .. Marie Fredriksson died in 2019. Ultimately in 2002 she was diagnosed with a severe brain tumour which caught up with her in 2016 when they had to stop touring. Have a listen to this album, really upbeat with lots of Marie on it via singers Helena Josefsson and Dea Norberg. Listen to You hurt the one you love the most ... its the new Listen To Your Heart ( bit of Phil Collins in there too )

So after the sad death of Marie Fredriksson in 2019 .. the other half of ROXETTE, Per Gessle ( hence the PG Roxette name ) has released a new album called Pop Up Dynamo. I have to say I really like this. Stepping into Maries shoes are singers Helena Josefsson and Dea Norberg. I think they did a great job, very sympathetic and a familiar Fredriksson presence throughout with some great pop up beat tracks like from Roxette of old. Of course Per is / was the main song writter. Here is the whole album on youtube. Im very partial to many tracks on it particularly HEADPHONES ON Here is a review where he talks about dusting off old keyboards If you want to go retro, get the right stuff, he smiles. So, I dusted off both the Jupiter 6 and 8, as well as my Prophet 5. A key or two was stuck, but after some TLC they were fit for fight again. Synth pop rules! http://roxetteblog.com/2022/10/28/pg-roxette-pop-up-dynamo-eleven-new-songs-with-a-classic-twist/

THIS is Jeff Beck for me. Never muscling in there to cram zillions of notes into a track. Just tastefully playing to fit the track In 1992 he appeared on an excellent concept album by ROGER WATERS ( ex Pink Floyd ) called AMUSED TO DEATH ( Recording started in 1987 ). So sit back and listen to his guitar on the BALLAD OF BILL HUBBARD. You may cry .. about WW1. It sends shivers down my spine every time I listen to it I will admit a tear in my eye listening to this ..

TBH @paulo I intend caps more as a highlight thing than shouting. In the OP ( which ironically you also did in caps ) I wrote: "GREAT to have PETER GABRIEL back with NEW ORIGINAL Material." I was using caps to get across that its great to see PG on the go with Original new material and an album/tour on the way.

In Europe May/June and in USA in the fall https://petergabriel.com/news/i-o-the-tour-announced/ "The tour will then continue in North America in the late summer/fall with dates and ticket information to follow." Band live is: Tony Levin - BASS David Rhodes - GUITARS Manu Katché - DRUMS Brian Eno - SYNTHS and BELLS Additional backing vocals are from Ríoghnach Connolly of The Breath The BEST gig I was ever at was here in Ireland in 90s at a big venue in Dublin called THE POINT. It was Gabriels SECRET WORLD Tour. Incredible, still have shivers thinking about it today. Being in Ireland SINEAD O CONNOR guest appearance did DONT GIVE UP, BLOOD OF EDEN

The thread title content regardless of length is what draws people in .. just like a newspaper headline online in facebook etc. People in media organisations specialise in just that .. crafting headlines. Lets be honest, most people read the headline on soc media and come to conclusions just with that headline, never read the article. Then comment "expertly" on the post with the headline NOT having read the article at all

Continue with this And learn whats left, especially the core plugs I select to use. To that end I have started via the 60 days free usage of GROOVE3. Lots of tutes there for Native Instruments, Arturia. Special attention finally to guitar VSTs like NI Electric Starburst https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Session-Guitarist-ELECTRICS-Explained

W/O the coupon at PB it is sort of unusual the package is far more expensive than at the plugin owners site - €60.48 v €46.10. Normally it would be at the "retail price" and then maybe less
-
Interestingly from Europe access to PB that offer is €60.48 before applying the coupon. After coupon its €48.14 And at PB the Free Gift has 3 items one of which is audiolens which is already included in this Izotope offer At IZOTOPE the same package is €46.10 in cart w/o any coupon required

Got it
-
Coming up as UNAVAILABLE .. I imagine will be live shortly?

https://www.izotope.com/en/shop/izotope-holiday-bundle.html So this includes new Audiolens referencing app paired with Ozone 10 Elements (NEW!) and Neutron 4 Elements (NEW!), plus Insight 2 for metering and Stratus by Exponential Audio for reverb clarity. I have the previous bundle with the Ozone v9 Elements and Neutron 3 Elements. So is it worth this $49 to upgrade them to leter versions listed?
