APD Deal: Lemonaide AI One Year Subscription - 84% Off!
Brian Lawler replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Love MIDI tools, but generally allergic to subscriptions. Not biting. From the video demo, I think I get better, more "tunable" results from Melody Sauce. MS doesn't do chord progressions though. https://www.lemonaide.ai/pricing -
APD Deal: MAGIX Music Maker 2024 Premium - 87% Off!
Brian Lawler replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Bought the upgrade. Spent the loop credits "just in case". So far it hasn't crashed, which was an issue with my last version. "AI" generator thing is a hoot. BTW was able to use the credits for bundles, so more gigs of stuff. -

If you have an older version (I had 2022 from a Humble Bundle), check your upgrade price with Magix direct- Mine is $20. -
APD Deal: Harmony Bloom MIDI Generator by Marionieto World - 60% Off!

Legit no-brainer. I'm not a bit disappointed that I bought from the dev for $29. -
I checked earlier today and mine was there. I made the free "purchase" a couple days ago. They didn't notify, it was just there the next time I looked.

I did have an issue with some of the UJAM plugs when I built my current Windows PC last month. I somehow ended up with pieces of older versions trying to coexist with newer ones. In particular it was hanging Komplete Kontrol scanner. I ended up having to uninstall it all AND dig in and delete folders that UJAM left behind in the Windows "user" directories. It is a PITA to install when you have a lot of UJAM stuff- you can't just trust it to click them all. You apparently need to install each one and move down the list. I think that is part of what caused my problems. Anyway- all been working in Studio One and Ableton since then. I also only use/keep the VST3 versions, except for the few that are still VST2 only.

Reverb is $14 crossgrade. I think I still have <100 reverbs...

I've been driving the demo for a few days and I am pretty disappointed with the included patches, to the point I just about bagged it. I have NOT auditioned all 700+ of them (surely over 100), but there is an awful lot of harsh FM-y similar sounds. Very few make use of MPE (I have a Linnstrument). Digging in and tweaking gave me a lot more satisfaction, as far as the filters and fx, tied to MPE. The resynthesis "IRIS" is a weak point. This YT pretty much matches my own experience with it. Kinda long, but he put an index below.

The best MIDI app just gets better and better.

I don't FB, but good point on the lack of activity. Nothing new from them on YouTube since '22 either.

Venomode/Phrasebox are still available, perhaps not at APD (PB has it, or direct). Alas, FLStudio MIDI routing is the worst. I think version 20 implemented a capture mode for MIDI VST output though. Otherwise you need to do it the way FL users have put up with since "the beginning"; install a MID looper (LoopBe, LoopMIDI, etc) and use it as a "repeater" so FL can read the data as a unique MIDI device. I think you can do it with Patcher too, but every time I decide to give FL another "go", I end up getting frustrated with the crap MIDI device support and set it aside. Frustrating, because it has a lot of other features going for it.

After installing and using it for a bit, YES- that update list I snipped from AAS was misleading. Those are new to version 2.x vs. 1. I did a little digging and found the detailed changelog here: https://www.applied-acoustics.com/multiphonics-cv-2/resources/ Note separate listings for Mac vs Windows.

I count myself lucky that the NA update went OK for me, but a LOT of people appear to be having problems. NI forum: https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/29009/the-sheer-joy-of-3-10-2/p1

Spire 30% off $129 (been under $100 several times in the past) Expansions 40% off. GREAT synth tho. https://www.reveal-sound.com/

I don't know about the base program size (edit- the installer is 81 megs libraries separate) , but the libraries / expansions are each in a single archive file, so no, you can't delete parts. Factory one is 6.4g and Factory 2 is 2.7g. It IS easy to keep them on a separate data drive though.

That's true, but I would argue that only the Musio app needs to decipher them. The programmer actually explained why he used the naming process in a YT video last year, but I don't recall the specifics. I moved my Musio sample library manually once, and moved it again to a new PC. There is a utility built in that will do it, but I didn't know about it at the time. It was able to load up the samples without re-downloading, so a recovery from backup should not be an issue. Just an FYI- they also do updates to the samples (there is a version # shown per patch), so you have to download again if they were updated.

Use the UJAM app to update.

Oh yeah! $199.99 Rather insulting to system builders, but it is an option.

I bought Win 11 Pro from Stack Social three weeks ago. So far, so good. I was willing to pay more than foreign based sites ($32 plus tax; they are in the US) in case I had an issue. I bought Office Suite for my daughter from them last year and she has had no issues. You might read this: https://www.pcworld.com/article/397575/how-to-get-windows-11-cheap-or-even-for-free.html
