Pitch Innovations Rhythm Box Intro Sale for $9
Brian Lawler replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I got an email promo from them a couple days ago saying it was a tool for people who use only a computer keyboard (no midi), so I didn't give it a second look. Probably not of interest to this forum. -
Everything 30% off https://www.vengeance-sound.com/index.php Code "Summer30" (does not stack)

4TB Samsung 990 Pro PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe Internal SSD for $299.99
Brian Lawler replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Had to pay $40 more for this (boot partition and "favorite libs" partition) when I build my PC four months ago, but it smokes (in a good way). -
https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/ All products (Photo, Designer, Publish). Re-set if you used a free trial before.

One caveat, and someone correct me if I am wrong (or it does not always apply): When I did a batch resave of a K5 or K6 library in K7, it could no longer be loaded in K5 or K6- you get an error message. I was following old advice on batch saving everything for faster loading, but don't do it if you have projects using older Kontakt versions that you want to open again.

Steinberg is a rather app happy cluster-kluge with their stuff. Install assistant, Download assistant, Activation manager, and Library manager should be all-in-one. I guess I can dump the eLicenser Control now, since I've upgraded away from it.

Well, it not only works for me on Win 11, it fixes an issue I had with several of my expansions not showing in the Maschine 2 browser. Fully agree however, that NI has been VERY slow to address many issues with their software that users have been complaining about for a long time. 3.12.1 - 2024-07-05 FIXED Fixed an issue where the application did not start on some Windows system 3.12.0 - 2024-07-04 July 4, 2024 - Contains NTK Daemon 1.19.0 This is the first of many lightweight crash and bugfix patches that we’re shipping out to users. This specific release was focused around the startup and activation issues that users were facing, as well as an incomplete product list showing up in Native Access for many users. We’re also shipping some quality of life updates, and are hard at work internally to make sure issues like these don’t slip by unnoticed and untested again. Our next release will be releasing shortly as well. We have completed the Locate All feature and will be shipping that in 3.13.0. But we will also be deprecating support for MacOS 11, so please update your systems now if you want to get access to new products + update your NA. FIXED Addressed an issue that caused uninstallations through Native Access to instead become broken. For affected products, one reinstall should resolve the issue. Addressed an issue where products were missing from a user’s Native Access client Addressed an issue where users would be permanently stuck on Loading Products Fixed an issue that caused excessively long Loading Products times. More work will be done. Patched the broken Knowledge Base article in the Add Serial’s Success modal

Halion is kind of like Falcon from UVI. Samplers and synthesis. Screengrab is Halion 7 (full) included instruments. It is not HiDPI friendly though (like Cubase, but my eyeballs are ancient).

Regarding the archtop: "Get much use"- No, I am a collector. It does have a great tone, although brighter than my Guild X-500 hanging on the wall. I have always used flatwounds on it though, because I want the mellowwww -

The thing about NAS boxes is that they can provide almost any kind of service you want. Web site host, FTP server, SMB fileshare, IPcamera storage, media streamer, and on and on. The more you have exposed to the Internet though, the more attack surface you present. You can absolutely use all those goodies inside your home network, but use a good router with extensive firewall capabilities to keep "the world" out. I use a Ubiquiti router, but guess what- they have had vulnerabilities too. Security is hard, unfortunately. I use four 3TB WD "Red" drives- they are designed for NAS (constant) use. I have them configured in a 4 drive RAID array where any one drive can fail, but you won't lose any data. The software will notify you (set up email alerts) and you just hot swap the drive with a good one (tool-less and easy). I had a "soft" drive failure a couple years ago but I just used the QNAP utilities to map out the bad sectors and let the system rebuild the array. It is still chugging away. Be sure to have an air-gapped backup strategy. I use little 5 TB USB spinners that are only plugged in during backup or recovery.
