  1. Oh I'm a sucker for these kind of libraries. Well, on the wishlist it is then...
  2. I thought we were on 26? Or did I miss something.
  3. True, that's why I said: Work as hard as you need to succeed in your goals. I was just ranting against the working hard just for the sake of working hard so you can inform your insta following that you are 'hustling' and they need to do the same. They don't. It's toxic. They need to put in the work to achieve their own goals.
  4. You are so right on 'the grind'. I hate that term and that mindset. And it doesn't only apply to streamer/content creators. There is this weird entrepeneur culture where I live where they do exactly the same. Proud to do 80+ hours a week. The obligatory selfie at 3 am for the insta. You see it in beatmakers on youtube. The "I made 736 beats in 84 hours straight" videos. The need to 'hustle', whatever that may be. It doesn't impress. But it gives a wrong message to newcomers who think they have to at least match that. Forgetting that they are not competing. That doesn't mean you don't have to work hard or put in the hours to be succesful, but working hard/long hours shouldn't be the goal on itself. I think you hit the nail on the head, they don't create a product or service, they turn themselves into a product. If that's your goal, fine, go ahead. But don't pretend it is anything else. You are not producing music, you are producing a producer.
  5. Just in case, I wasn't trying to knock United Plugins. I have Royal Compressor, Autoformer and Voxessor and I like them. Especially Voxessor for a quick spoken word treatment. I really have to use Royal Compressor more.
  6. I wonder what the new code will be in 48 hours. The suspense is killing me.
  7. Imagine working months to create a fun vocal tuner, only to have Waves beat you to it by a couple of weeks. But to be honest, I'm personally not really impressed by the demo video. If you don't have something which can do this, €19 seems like a reasonable price. The competition (Waves, Antares, Eventide) seem to have more functionality at a slightly higher price.
  8. I have this one (also for 15 I believe) as well as the hardware (Behringer 2600). I use this one when I dont'want to start everything up, but also as a preset list for the hardware ?
  9. Haha thanks but I was being a bit facetious. I have a basic understanding of what type of compression to use when and I do have my favorites. My general point was that I'm not a professional and I have accumulated more than any pro would dream of, without the exact skill to problem solve and grabbing the right compressor where I need it. I still like having the options, but I had to come to terms with my own limitations. So I swallowed a bit of ego and gained (well, didn't spent) money. ?
  10. I kinda agree. I find myself buying more creative plugins (reverb, delay, etc) lately than the standard mixing stuff. That's not to say I don't buy any mixing stuff at all, but it's getting more and more rare. I still want an API buscompressor just because (and PA has a pretty good one I believe) and maybe some saturation because I like having different flavors. But I don't see myself buying more than 1-2 plugins from PA this year. In hindsight it is a bit silly, I don't have the skills to really know when it's best to use an opto compressor or a FET, but i have loads of them.
  11. Thanks for reminding me I have to install this one. Have bought it some time ago but forgot about it. Happens sometimes when I purchase while at work and cannot install it immediately.
  12. From the website: "Test Drive is a time-based activation of the TR-808 instrument and patch collections. After August 31st, access to the TR-808 and its corresponding patch collections will only be available as a Lifetime Key purchase or in Pro or Ultimate memberships."
  13. That's about as low as it gets. I think the lowest I have seen them go for was 59 a piece. So together it is now 50.
  14. Happy 808, everyone! Heat up your week and enjoy 50% off Octane for the next 24 hrs. 15. https://www.echosoundworks.com/free-kalimba This has probably been free all along, and I have other freebies from Echo Sound Works. I couldn't find a topic about it, so here it is. It is free, but full Kontakt required. Although there is also a Logic X and Ableton version included. Which probably means there are wav files included.
  16. https://www.adsrsounds.com/product/presets/production-master-808-day-sale-8-for-8/ Not bad in terms of quantity for money. Listened to some previews and I think it is worth the $8. 17. Very nice for them. I bought some of their sample packs and they are quite useful.
  18. I don't hope so. But, it's too bad NFT's have that reputation (and rightly so), because there is something to the concept. Very basically it's just another form of ownership and distribution. We used to buy vinyl, casettes and CD's. Then we downloaded MP3's (we still do). Then we streamed everything (we still do). The latter is just modern radio, there is no ownership anymore. So it's the far end of the spectrum. I am of the opinion that eventually ownership will swing back. It already does with vinyl sales on the rise. So owning a certain piece of music, and not just the media which it comes on, in addition with the nifty technological things you can do with it, will be the future imo.
  19. Go easy on me, I should have known. Last time I looked into this was like 10-15 years ago. Back then there wasn't any good Android app.
  20. The sounds from the synth are great from what I can tell from their website. Gritty.
  21. I will acknowledge your choice, but I can't like your post. I hope you understand. Tim brings an interesting option. Stream from your laptop / desktop to an app. I guess I'm not the only one with terabytes of mp3's somewhere on a dusty external drive.
  22. Still, if Winamp is coming back, they better bring along the classic skin.
  23. Oh I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention. I was talking about Winamp but I see you were talking about Foobar2000.
  24. Everything other than the classic skin and layout is blasphemy.
  25. I cannot check right now, but I believe I'm on this version as well. No reason to change. As for the new Winamp...I actually think this is very clever and interesting. There's an entire generation of people who instantly recognizes the name. What if...and this is not going to happen but....what if is would be some combination of youtube / soundcloud / Spotify / Tunein (or whatever radio app) / Distrokid (or whatever distributor) etc. They talk about fair income for creators and releasing music, so there is a model behind this. I'm very curious as to how they are planning to market this and what it will be.
