  1. Sale is until 18-9, so act quick. Normally €99, now €49,50 https://www.imaginando.pt/products/vs-visual-synthesizer VS - Visual Synthesizer Easily create visuals that react to your music and MIDI. Trigger, change and modulate parameters from both audio and MIDI sources, to inject movement into each layer’s "polyphonic visual voices". From ambient geometric loops, to rhythmically pulsating patterns, VS extensive modulation options ensure you are always in control. Aswell as a standalone app, VS - Visual Synthesizer comes in a range of plugin formats, which can be run inside a DAW like Ableton, to react directly to your compositions, live in realtime. In terms of MIDI interaction, this gives you huge potential to create amazing visuals right inside your DAW.
  2. Indeed, a while back I was a bit of a snob I think. I wanted to have the third party stuff, because it had to be better right? Well no. It may be better in a certain particular situation, sure. But I find myself grabbing the stock stuff more and more. And with Suite, I'm sure I haven't even scratched the surface. Not to mention the sound libraries that are included (+70GB). Even Spitfire stuff.
  3. There is no way I'm adding a blacklight to any room in my house...
  4. There is A LOT of useful native stuff in Ableton Suite. I have loads of third party stuff, but when I made the switch, a lot just became obsolete. Well not really because we keep telling ourselves we like choices before we buy our 24th EQ. Just the stock (glue)compressor and EQ alone get used a lot. Not to mention the creative FX that are included. The LFO suits my workflow so well. Redux is great, I use the amp more than Guitar Rig or Amplitude (well it's made by Softube , so ok...), reverb and delay are so easy to dial in, drumbus is still awesome, making racks and parallel chains is so easy, sampler and drumrack are my weapons of choice, the numorous MIDI probability and modulation options are overwhelming, external instrument just works, analog is a great synth, Max4Life is just an endless playground with SO much useful stuff (and a lot of it is free). My 'only' wish is that they would add more send/return tracks. Sometimes I reach the limit of 12. Just make it 24 and I'm good.
  5. Nope, started with 12U in the summer of 2020, got the 13U upgrade in june 2021. So I guess I will look at the 14CE upgrade in 2023? Must have slept a year ?
  6. This is a great deal and seems like a no brainer. But with rising energy costs I'm on a very strict 'not in my wishlist, not buying' budget. And even if it was, I'm basically holding off every non essential purchase. Let's wait a few months.
  7. I always go that route with NI. I wait a year for a sale. But I think last time they had a winter sale comparable to their summer sale, so I might have gotten that one? Have to check my Excel sheet.
  8. Indeed, and for me personally the newly added stuff is very interesting. So much so that I'm contemplating upgrading from Ultimate to Ultimate CE. But not full price, waiting for a sale.

  10. It was, but I believe it wasn't available for a while.
  11. Oh I'm a sucker for these kind of libraries. Well, on the wishlist it is then...
  12. I thought we were on 26? Or did I miss something.
  13. True, that's why I said: Work as hard as you need to succeed in your goals. I was just ranting against the working hard just for the sake of working hard so you can inform your insta following that you are 'hustling' and they need to do the same. They don't. It's toxic. They need to put in the work to achieve their own goals.
  14. You are so right on 'the grind'. I hate that term and that mindset. And it doesn't only apply to streamer/content creators. There is this weird entrepeneur culture where I live where they do exactly the same. Proud to do 80+ hours a week. The obligatory selfie at 3 am for the insta. You see it in beatmakers on youtube. The "I made 736 beats in 84 hours straight" videos. The need to 'hustle', whatever that may be. It doesn't impress. But it gives a wrong message to newcomers who think they have to at least match that. Forgetting that they are not competing. That doesn't mean you don't have to work hard or put in the hours to be succesful, but working hard/long hours shouldn't be the goal on itself. I think you hit the nail on the head, they don't create a product or service, they turn themselves into a product. If that's your goal, fine, go ahead. But don't pretend it is anything else. You are not producing music, you are producing a producer.
  15. Just in case, I wasn't trying to knock United Plugins. I have Royal Compressor, Autoformer and Voxessor and I like them. Especially Voxessor for a quick spoken word treatment. I really have to use Royal Compressor more.
  16. I wonder what the new code will be in 48 hours. The suspense is killing me.
  17. Imagine working months to create a fun vocal tuner, only to have Waves beat you to it by a couple of weeks. But to be honest, I'm personally not really impressed by the demo video. If you don't have something which can do this, €19 seems like a reasonable price. The competition (Waves, Antares, Eventide) seem to have more functionality at a slightly higher price.
  18. I have this one (also for 15 I believe) as well as the hardware (Behringer 2600). I use this one when I dont'want to start everything up, but also as a preset list for the hardware ?
  19. Haha thanks but I was being a bit facetious. I have a basic understanding of what type of compression to use when and I do have my favorites. My general point was that I'm not a professional and I have accumulated more than any pro would dream of, without the exact skill to problem solve and grabbing the right compressor where I need it. I still like having the options, but I had to come to terms with my own limitations. So I swallowed a bit of ego and gained (well, didn't spent) money. ?
  20. I kinda agree. I find myself buying more creative plugins (reverb, delay, etc) lately than the standard mixing stuff. That's not to say I don't buy any mixing stuff at all, but it's getting more and more rare. I still want an API buscompressor just because (and PA has a pretty good one I believe) and maybe some saturation because I like having different flavors. But I don't see myself buying more than 1-2 plugins from PA this year. In hindsight it is a bit silly, I don't have the skills to really know when it's best to use an opto compressor or a FET, but i have loads of them.
  21. Thanks for reminding me I have to install this one. Have bought it some time ago but forgot about it. Happens sometimes when I purchase while at work and cannot install it immediately.
  22. From the website: "Test Drive is a time-based activation of the TR-808 instrument and patch collections. After August 31st, access to the TR-808 and its corresponding patch collections will only be available as a Lifetime Key purchase or in Pro or Ultimate memberships."
  23. That's about as low as it gets. I think the lowest I have seen them go for was 59 a piece. So together it is now 50.
  24. Happy 808, everyone! Heat up your week and enjoy 50% off Octane for the next 24 hrs.
