Vocals sound great, very clearly mixed and intelligible (I'm not a native English speaker, so when I can hear/understand the lyrics clearly, it is a great plus). Maybe you could try a little less reverb? It sets a space but now a lot lives in that same space. If you didn't do it already, perhaps just sidechaining the reverb signal to the original track would clear it up.

You are not mistaken, as far as I know.

Because @mark skinner thought it was a good idea to put vocals in a track, I decided to do just that. Behold my glorious singing voice! Behind the scenes story: I had a first run where I wasn't paying attention and went too long. So I had another go, but a camera(phone) had a crashed SD card during the saving process and it didn't work. I didn't know, so I lost 1 angle. But luckily I had an additional angle wih my work phone for a vertical video (I didn't like the previous cropped ones and that takes a lot of time to edit out, so I set up another phone). So I zoomed in, made it 16:9 and got rid of the poor zoom quality by placing a VHS filter over it. Anyway, synthwavey stuff, vocoders, drummachines and more. Got out my "I'll be back" shirt and 'neon' glasses to look the part. Enjoy!

Great, now my stupid behind (because aparently there is some autocorrection here which doesn't let me say a s s ) is singing. Video will be up somewhere this evening or tomorrow.

And here. Seems that posting the code online killed it. Could it be that the code was part of a magazine (Beat?) and a sudden influx of users made it suspicious?

Thanks! I sort of, unintenionally, do this. I practise these sessions during the week and sculpt the sounds. I save all those sounds and I take pictures of the settings on the synths without presets. So within the project, most of the time I have some recordings of tests, other melodies, other sounds and stuff. I like the idea of building a full track out of it. While it is not my immediate intention, there is potential in some tracks. For the vocals, yeah I'm not a singer. And that's an understatement. But I happen to know a few, one metal singer with a stunningly clear voice, my ex girlfriend which is, errr, complicated and a colleague who is gaining a lot of traction lately on tiktok. That being said, I have a Microfreak and am contemplating singing myself with the vocoder mic, no pitch needed ?

Thanks! I agree that the live playing of melodies on top was kinda missing in the previous ones. I think I was just anxious to do it because I'm not a great player. But in the end it is the most satisfying. l will try do so it more often when it fits the track (my latest electro thing was more drum oriented). It's so great when I just jam on top and it works (ok I kinda practice beforehand). Thanks again for taking the time and the feedback!

IK Multimedia Total Studio 3.5 MAX $177 or cheaper (<$99 )
Nick Blanc replied to e-cue's topic in Deals
Still 199ex for me on the IK site. I don't own any MAX bundle. I own almost all the individual products due to last years group buy. So no, I won't be upgrading. The only thing I'm interested in is the Fame reverb and some of the Tascam plugins. Not worth 199. -
Titanium is a nice plugin. Is it worth 59? Hmmm thereabouts.

You know those dreamy ambient soundscapes of which there are a gaziljon on Youtube? With generic descriptions ("I was longing for peace and....") and cheesy titles (dream the dream!). I'm joining the club. But seriously, I tried my hands at Wotja. The weird thing was, when I tried it with the built-in sounds, the CPU usage shot through the roof (I'm running an I9 12th gen!), so be careful. But when I routed the midi to a different track and switched off the internal sound, all was well. This was my first walk in the Wotja park, so I didn't really knew wat I was doing. I'm missing a lot of setup options I think, but the result was very pleasing. I tried another (not uploaded yet) where I routed the midi to 3 tracks, so a piano, pads and some granular thing are all playing at the same time. Oh it's 1 hour long, I won't hold it against you guys if you don't watch it till the end ("stick around till the end, you won't believe what happens next" *insert soyboy face).

Well, here is a new one. So far I'm keeping up with my 1 per week. I had the idea of that gritty Malevolent layered with the SE-02 and then some nice bright contrast with the Matriarch. But I couldn't really get drums to fit. I nearly gave up until I decided to fire up the Drumbrute, changed the beat to an electro type beat and suddenly it worked! Tried some new angles with the camera's, not a great succes as there's now only 1 camera that had me in frame and that is my lowest quality camera ?. Oh well, live & learn.

Yum Audio - Today is the day we release our new plugin THE GRATER.
Nick Blanc replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Nope, he was busy designing the UI. -
€199 is too much money right now (I recently bought the Lyra-8, so that's my music budget for a couple of months gone). And the Essentials bundle only has the 8bit synth and Drum designer i'm really interested in, so that's not worth the €89. I'll pass.

Me too, waiting for the summer to upgrade my Komplete.

Feel Your Sound New free package out now: 90s Rave Pianos
Nick Blanc replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Fun! THE 90s piano is from the Korg M1 (preset Piano16) and is available in their VST. Add THAT bass from the same M1 (preset Organ 2) and you're good to go. -
These plugins are also in your account for free if you purchased something from them in the past.

Nothing for me, but a reminder that until the 5th of March you can get about 90% off some bundled UVI products with Image Line. It seems you don't have to have FL Studio to qualify. https://www.image-line.com/uvi?utm_source=IL_news&utm_medium=ct&utm_campaign=uvi-IL_news-0223

Don't do it man! I've had multiple cherry flavoured beers, this one included, and they are all terrible (no offense Cherry Audio). It's a drunken lesson I did and will repeat many times over.

Ah the infamous vampire hunter and inventor of the word 'humongous', which, up to that point in time was simply called 'thy mother'. Of whom the story of how to meet her was not televised but widely known. Mostly amongst the seafaring folk. Which is derived from the Dutch "zeevarend", not to be confused with "zeearend" which is a sea eagle. The most American thing ever and still a better unit of measurement than inches.

Boy was I wrong about the coalplants per cubic drinkwatercontaminations system. I thought it was a nice thing that heating up 1L of water (which weighs 1 KG) with 1°C requires 1Kcal of energy. Turns out it's way better to tune a pitchfork to 440Hz, launch a rocketship to the moon, have the pitchfork resonate there and while ignoring a vacuum have the sound travel 310 hours (or 3674 Mount Rushmores per McDonalds) to reach earth again. Cherry Audio's new synth will do all of this. With polyphony!
-
Oops, my bad. It apparantly is. Soooo, what is the significance of 440? Besides the band Apollo 440. Speaking of Apollo, the moon mission used a mixture. Its a miracle the thing got of the ground.

Clean Machine - FREE Dynamics Tool By Amalgamated Signals
Nick Blanc replied to locrian's topic in Deals
To be honest, I had to look it up. I just knéw there had to be a term for this phenomena. And to be totally honest, soylent grin was the first thing that came up, but I wanted something more derogative to express my contempt. I have unsubscribed for less. -
They also have excellent service. I had a, let's say, dispute with a reseller (audioplugindeals) who were unwilling to help. But Wave Alchemy did even when they didn't had to.

Clean Machine - FREE Dynamics Tool By Amalgamated Signals

I absolutely HATE these kind of thumbnails. The sad thing is that it is supposed to work. We (the people of the internets) should make it a thing that the moment we see this cuckface behaviour, we should flood the comments with hints of what he/she should put in there. Like a baguette or something...? -
Impossible. I've seen you install recordings of a broken drumstick flopping against ballistic gel. This one is actually useful.
