7 mini dumps saved from crashes so far this year [solved]
Max Arwood replied to Max Arwood's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I think it was the video driver - It has been WAY better since they were updated. Thanks for all your help. I also dumped 200 Plugins, 32bit. Also at lease I know which ones are 32bit and can insert and freeze them. I'm excited about what is to some in 2020. I got to get working on that dual boot! Thanks again, Max Arwood -
synthmaster not being recognized by cakewalk
Max Arwood replied to Leighton Cooper's topic in Instruments & Effects
1) Where did Synthmaster install it's VST? 2) Is this path included in Cakewalks VST scan path? Max Arwood -
The bottom seems to soft to me. I have only had my new studio up a few months, so .... I'm not that sure about Freqs yet. I could recommend MCompare. It is one of the best purchases I have made in a good while. You could also set up a multi track song - Put yours on the top track then load 8-10 of your favorite songs in your songs style. You can mute all then solo yours the the commercial song. You might want to lower the commercial song by 8-10 db to get a premastered volume. It is a good test. The bottom sounds too low. There also doesn't seem to be any sub material. Don't know if you meant to do this. Sometimes this is good to help get more volume without distorting. Max Arwood

Thanks. Yes they were there. Experimenting and forgot to remove them! I updated the Nvidia drivers they were 3 years old! I’m sure that should help. Working with VST inventory tool. I sure wish you could delete vsts in it! Just doing it manually. Fixing these two things should reduce the amount of crashes. Thanks again! Max Arwood -

#2 - I do this from time to time. First Save the project! Open both projects at the same time. (there is a check box in preferences to allow this) Go to source project under window (main control bar) Triple click the track number (to be sure all track info is selected) I like to use Edit->copy special. (sometime I don't need everything) Go to window and choose target project. Add audio or Midi track Move play cursor to the beginning of project. Edit-> Paste special done. It looks like a lot of clicking but it only take time to load the second project. Copying and pasting the track only takes a minute. Max Arwood

First times with Cakewalk : where is audio editor section and many others...
Max Arwood replied to Dimitri's question in Q&A
Cakewalk has fast fade slow fade and liner fade modes. Move cursor to top end of audio clip. Be sure track control is set to edit clips. When your cursor turns to a triangle like a fade right click then it will show all 3 modes of fades. -
Reverb too. Plate, or a really long reverb or a combo of both.

All these are helpful. tecknot - that will come in handy for a few things. I didn’t know you could do that. It does work! Thanks David - I never used take lanes that much. I did spend some time working with them thanks to you! I guess I should start using them. Thanks master the mix - reference gets a runner up. It’s not as smooth as MCompare. MCompare seems to be the best solution. It has a AGC with a mute till matched feature. It automatically matches the volumes of 16 different songs /reference tracks to your track. The biggest edge over Reference is the silence till match is made. Without this there is a loud blast of the reference track before the AGC adjust. It throws off your tonal memory without this feature. Also as you move to a quieter section of your song MCompare will readjust your reference tracks with the AGC to rematch the reference at that point in the song. Thanks to all!

Is there a way to tell the difference between versions of plugins? The only one that is easy is VST3’s I wish there was a program that could scan a folder and tell which one each type is. Thanks

1) Automation 2) Vocal Rider (or similar) 3) Compression
