I sure hope someone can help get you going again. I talked myself out of regressing to windows 7 multiple times!! I knew it was close to a must do soon upgrade. I have also thought about a new sound card since mine is even older that your!! lol!! To get the bang of my old card - 8 ins-outs SPDIF, ADAT..... I will just cost more than I need to spend right now. My computer is a really old i7. I have thought many times about moving up. Just need to go slow and figure out what would help the most and do that first. I have other friends that use Echo products. They don't seem to have problems on win 10 and BL Cakewalk. Max Arwood

New find - Last night I was doing a bunch of MIDI editing - when I noticed the MIDI track in PVR had no keyboard on left side. It only had some tiny numbers. I finally figured it out - that track was frozen. Is that new? Can we get the Keyboard back? I was trying to calculate home harmonies, but no keyboard. Max Arwood

I have an even older echo card. I have Layla 24/96. It seems to work fine. Don’t know if my latency could be lower with a newer card. Mine a pci card. It seems to work really good with thread scheduling 3 .Latest Windows and layers Bandlab cakewalk I have a really old i7 processor. I think my drivers are V 8.3. I would like to rent a high end card for a week to see if it is any different! I did restore points two different ones. No Help. Restored Macrium backup from 06-01. no help. Backup software trashed older versions for lack of space - What bad timing. Copied several old versions of .ins to new version. MOTU seems to have all the input channels but only 1 output channel. I reinstalled the MOTU drivers - several versions. Did a hardware reset on the MOTU. Still nothing. How can I tell if its hardware of Software? Where does Cakewalk store the friendly names of the midi drivers? Where does cakewalk get the information from windows about the number of channels? Also My Tranzport control surface is missing in cakrwalk but is loaded in the too but . I don't think this is Beta version related. My machine was running the best is had run in years just the other day. *****((Could someone move this to the proper place for help)).********* MOTU MIDI Express 128 5yrs old . Added a midi track tonight. Tried to choose the instrument. Midi instrument definitions all gone. Can not add them back grayed out. Names of my MOTU channnels all gone. please help - Where is the file location for these? I could restore them from a backup, Thanksn Max Arwood

No Side Chaining

I can not believe how well my system is running with EA2! Noel did some magic programming on this version. I have not run without glitched and crashes since I upgraded to windows 10. I was also having an issue with Lexicon PCM reverbs, All that is gone now. All the rough playback - smooth now. I will have to say that these projects were loaded! Ball park of 55+ tracks with 64 plugins on the busses , 100 on tracks -all active and another 45 frozen VSTs. 5 soft synths - B4 II, CFX Grand, Superior 3, Kontakt 5 and Omnishpere (Some frozen) Unbelievable! Noel - I don't know how you sorted through all that code so fast and fixed all this - GREAT JOB!! Many Thanks To a Great Team!!!!! Max Arwood

The only thing I noticed is that your record to track it set to mono. It is the little button just past the record button. It you click it, it will change shape to look like 2 wave forms instead of one. Let us know if that helps. Max Arwood

Got hud working. Don’t know why but I had to delete the S staff view shortcut. Put in the T for hud. Put back in the S for Staff view. All working. Must have been a glitch in the shortcuts. I still would prefer the clips to be shift-Click the clips. My left hand is already on the shift from shifting to the volume Env or other Env, because the hud is 4 clicks away. It would save 75% of the clicks. If they could some how add the clip edit menu to shortcuts that would be ok. I think It would be hard to do because you can select a clips to edit without the track actually being selected. I think shift click a clip would be easier to program. Max Arwood

If the project is very large the -6 is a great idea. I use it too. Max Arwood

I always use delay send volume. It is just as easy to make an envelope for send as it is to make a mute send or off/on automation envelope. I like to use tempo timed delays on single words and short phrases The precision of an envelope can be easily adjusted extremely small - easily to set to a letter of a word - “T”om. t t t t t . This looks long but it only takes a minute to setup Add delay on a buss or track Cilck track Right click track effects area add fx send - delay effect on bus Set level of send as low as it will go Click clips filter edit button add env for delay send Move to word mouse marquise select the word Right click over envelope Choose add nodes at selection (this adds 2 sets of 2 nodes) Hold ctrl down left click and drag to the desirable volume Move to next word select and repeat from move to word For crazy stuff like Unfiltered Audio Sandman or Eventide Blackhole I make a separate track for the echo words and drop the echo on the track or buss. The buss can have other stuff like separate compression. Frequently I use Waves S-1 imager to push the reverb image to the outer extreme edge of the stereo field. One way is to make a MIDI volume envelope, that way you can change single notes or groups of notes easily. You can control a ton of midi stuff with envelopes. Go the the midi track and click on the Edit filter - It usually says "clips" by default. Volume is 1st in the pull down, but more MIDI controls are under MIDI. Hope this helps, Max Arwood

It sounds like automation is still on the track. When you delete a track you might not be deleting automation. To be sure the track is cleared use edit->Delete Special - be sure all boxes are checked. You can also delete automation there separate from the clip information. Max Arwood
