Blown away David, you little rascal ..so much talent here. I have no idea why your work makes me smile .. perhaps it's the unpredictability of where you think your being taken and where you go ... more of this please ?? Stay well Steve

Sorry for your loss, and as Gary has written I also feel your sadness which is so evident in your playing. Stay strong Steve

Didn't say but just to add, it has a Paul Young vibe . Love this song, however I still feel the drums are a bit repetitive .. but hey ho ... love the end too BTW ? Take care Steve

Think it needs a bit of tidying up here an there like Jack has pointed out, and it's a little thin in places ( Hammond ) ... so in my sketchbook it's not quite there yet, but I know you (well sort of) and my bet is you'll do a remix in time. Take care Steve Steve, I took you suggestion and remixed this. I hope it helps with your suggestions. Many thanks! This whole song has thickened up and it sounds really professional. It sounded like there was a little more compression and you pulled up the lower end, which I feel gives the song what it needs .. guts! Great work mate ( and I wouldn't say that if I never meant it ). ATB Steve

As you know I became a fan of your work a long time ago and this is a great song with your unique vocal. For me I would have brought the drum track in around 1.40 so as not to make it too repetitive but it's small fry and I love the track as is. Great post ATB Steve

Love this atmospheric and professional video and sound track, the whole thing works and gels, the 2001 reference is a nice touch, Excellent work ! ATB Steve

LOVE the vocal, mix is excellent as is this bit'o'work and the lyrics are dammed good well done guys it's a winner here. ATB Steve

Your gonna hate me ... I think this piece, although the glue between this or that, still needs the feel of someone playing the sound with ups and downs, perhaps a pause with a cello playing at counter ... this 'bump' does not work for me, the violin patch is far too repetitive and harsh but leads into a really great bit at the end which is, most probably the bit that works most, for me anyhow .. There, I told you you'd hate me. Still love your stuff though Steve

Hi Paul, Yep, I'm with you on the tech side, it's not really my thing to do instrumentals with only synths .. just seems too easy to produce and there sooo many arps and triggers and weird & wacky samples now I think the old ways are missed by my 70 year old ears ...Thankfully there are some great musicians and songwriters here on this site which I'm humbled by. Their skill in playing proper instruments and writing lyrics is never lost on me ... Like 'If I Never' as an example of both types using old and new ideas when writing a good song, that does for it me as a ( 2nd rate ) singer/songwriter thanks for the listen and comment. ATB Steve

Thankyou Bjorn, I know it's not really worthy but I'm glad you realise it was a bit of fun with this NI freebee. Stay well Steve

Smashing lyrics ! You have loved and lost, that's for sure . Tom has great input when it comes to this song, so it's worth the time to see if he's comments work in the mix. My only crit is that the vocal, although good, seems a little rushed, to me it seems your trying to catch up with the beat, but as said I love the words you chose for the story and like the other guys here the 80's feel. Well done ATB Steve

Thanks for the comment and your time Steve

Native Instruments are doing a give away for their 25 anniversary .. and a competition so I did this for a bit of fun. Head over and see how good this bit of kit is . Oh and my entry ? https://metapop.com/spak/tracks/xmas-rain-drops/209323

Very Very nice mate .. I wish I played guitar with your accuracy, I think Lynn nailed it ! ALB Steve

A too long but nice playing ... Wot no Hammond ! LOL

How did you feel about this when you finished it David ? There's a lot of unseen work in this and I think you did a good job .. but I have to say I prefer Émilie Fend acoustic version( Augustin Barrios Mangoré 'Vals op 8 No 4 with a Götz Bürki guitar ) however overall this is a great bit of instrumental playing and I love it ... and your interpretation .. well done ? ATB Steve

Really nice song and I love the vocal harmonies which seem to me organic and not a voice harmonizer ... unmistakable you. Very much enjoyed it ? Steve

Smashing song and the vid works well ... I could get lost in this stuff ... great work mate ATB Steve

Really loved this bit'o'work. It reminded me of a song I heard some years ago, but I'm not sure what it was ... I felt it was Floyd'ish in a way and I really enjoyed it so thanks for the posting ... BTW you need dry spells to find out what it was you started all this stuff for ... ? ATB Steve

Thanks guys ...Still doing my kitchen so no new stuff, but the boss gave me a day and I thought I would try the Bandlab mixing app on this old song. Found it to be very good, how do they do this stuff for nicks ? Thanks Bandlab? This was recorded using my old but still working Tascam 688 ( now mixed down ) so whilst I agree with Tom here I can't loose the 16th H/H ...shame but I might have a go at doing it again, it's just at 70 the old voice ain't got the horses it did have ?. just for the record I used my DX7 for the organ ... still a great bit'o'kit. Stay well Steve
