  1. Thanks Nigel. I was on the verge of caving in but I know when SSS is next on sale I would be gazing longingly towards it so I might just wait for that!
  2. It is pretty tempting. I also have their TrackSpacer plugin which is an excellent tool. I have had Sharine and InSession's Shimmer, Shake Strike on my radar for a while although the latter is quite a bit more money (even more so while Sharine is on sale). For us folk in the UK you have to add VAT so Sharine works out at around 42 GBP at the checkout. Eli Krantzberg did a pretty decent review on it ...
  3. Ah sorry Larry, thought you had upgraded to 16. Yes I will probably do the same re the Humble Bundle as I have quite a few existing projects in Vegas which I wouldn't want to have to re-create in DaVinci. I am hoping that Vegas 16/17 will bring back some stability for me and I'm quite happy to pay the Humble Bundle amount to find out (as opposed to the $150+ offer that Magix keep sending me).
  4. How are you finding Vegas 16 Larry? I recently tried using Vegas 15 for a project and was getting quite a few problems including hanging in the middle of rendering; the percentage complete stopped increasing and the time to complete kept getting bigger. This was something I found when I used it before which I never encountered with version 14. Looking online it seems the problem is quite common (also with 16). Of course it makes it even more annoying that you have spent quite a few hours editing the video to make it perfect only to find that it fails at the render stage ? Anyway, I decided to try DaVinci Resolve 16 again and I have to say that it was a dream to work with and I got the project done really quickly after I watched one of the free tutorials here --> https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/davinciresolve/training . There are so many neat little touches that shows how much thought has gone into its development. The free version just worked without any issues and seems to have everything I need apart from DVD export (which I need occasionally to send family videos on DVD). For these I found the quickest at converting exported 1080p footage to MPEG2 was an old copy of Adobe Premiere Elements I still had installed (TMPEGEnc is actually an old favourite but annoyingly I cannot find my license) and I can also use Magix DVD Architect to create better menus if needed.
  5. They are definitely priced to sell! I already have Aquiver, Synferno, Space 1 and 2 and Ghost so I am just weighing up whether the other 4 are worth it.
  6. The ones that I use over and over are Miroslav Philharmonic 2 and Kirk Hunter Virtuoso Instruments and sometimes Halion Symphonic Orchestra. I'm no expert at strings but just use whatever sounds right to my ears in a song (usually pop/rock genre).
  7. I also decided to put the money to use elsewhere Mono. Got way too many string libraries some of which I think sound better than this to my ears.
  8. Also, check your email if you already own some of their plugins. I bought their Ultimate Bundle a while back and they have just sent out an email with an updates link.
  9. My thoughts exactly. I think the only plug there that I have been after for a while is Renaissance Vox.
  10. Yes I got that email too. I checked the upgrade price in my account from Gold which was 120 USD. Amazingly I don't have any of the individual plugs that make the difference between Gold and Platinum. I just don't want to spend that much on Waves at the moment. I guess Koby would be cheaper. https://www.waves.com/compare-bundles
  11. Can't find an emoji for "hangs head shame" ?
  12. Yes worth getting Mesh and only ~60Mb. I wouldn't have paid anywhere near 36 USD for it but it's okay for a freebie. It's worth taking a moment to read the PDF manual to set up the snapshots. This gives you access to 11 snapshots. It's just a simple case of copying the snapshot folder to the correct location.
  13. I ran the update again and this time it appears to have worked ? Also, I found that where the version number is available in the plugin (from the "About" button which seems to be missing from some plugins e.g. bx_boom) it's best to use that rather than look at Programs and Features as they are reported incorrectly there.
  14. They have now got back to me and gave me the same reason (I bought the library at T&S). So I have sent them a copy of my invoice and await a response ?? Update : they got straight back to me with a discount code ?
  15. Tempted by the Slide Bundle and Passion Flute (to go with Flutes of Fire). Got some slices to use up so should be a great deal.
  16. None of the 29 plugins were updated! Although the Installation Manager looked like it was downloading and installing all of them and even gave a message to say that it was complete. I don't like how it downloads to somewhere which is not configurable so I will have to go hunting. I have raised a support ticket as I really don't fancy updating these manually.
  17. I just tried updating all of my P.A. plugins. I checked the installed versions before update and again afterwards. No change! Looks like I will have update manually as most installed versions have been updated (I manually checked installed versions vs the ones available in my account on their website) ?
  18. Double ditto. I have used both MX300 and MX500s over the last few years without any issues. My current system has a 1Tb and 750Gb MX500 in it both operating at full SATA III speeds.
  19. Hey Fleer, Like it! I must remember that one
  20. Thanks for the heads up Glyn. I never got a reply to my email to support so I am inclined to pass. It's not like I don't have enough string libraries ?
  21. Thanks Larry and abacab for the recommendation ?? Luftrum 10 does indeed sound greaaat!
  22. Thanks for the heads-up Marc. Really loving these presets and with all those amp/cab variations it could take all month to explore all of the sounds on offer ?

    Sektor

Just noticed that you can get the 1.3 beta update from Initial Audio. I am using it and have had no issues so far. https://initialaudio.com/my-account/sektor-v1-3/ Note that the link has "my-account" within it so you may need to be logged in for it to work. Here's the changelog: Sektor Version 1.3 Improvements: -Switched to a much cleaner sounding limiter on the output of the synth so sounds better when the volume is pushed hard. -Made the resonance of the filter less extreme at high settings. -Adjusted the cutoff range for the filter. -Added 2 new filter types Analog lowpass and Analog Highpass. -Improved the filter menu to have more descriptive names. -Added a more analog sounding overdrive to the master section and filters. -Reduced the CPU usage of the Convolution reverb. -Added a clear notes button and Humanize mode to the sequencer. -Hold Ctrl or Command while dragging on the Osc+ page to set finer values. -Added support for loop points in user wav files. When enabling Loop mode in the sampler if the file contains loop points these will be used instead of looping from the end of the file. -Tooltips now take longer to show, so they don’t popup quite as much. -Improved the level meter to show peaks more accurately. -Improved the CPU usage of the GUI. -When Clicking the link to generate serial, the machine name and activation code are automatically entered. -Users can now move or install Sektors content to another harddrive instead of being forced to install all content to the main drive. Fixes: -Samples where not retriggering correctly in mono mode with long release times. -In MPE Mode Glide wasn’t always polyphonic. -Fixed Heat Up 3 instruments not loading in the sample oscillator. -Fixed a possible crash when an Impulse response was missing. -Higher notes were louder in volume that lower notes, added some attenuation to balance out the difference to sound more natural. -Fixed some values sticking when turning modulations off.
  24. It's an evil ploy to get you to upgrade to TH-U, Mesh ? JRR got back to me quickly and have now sent working serials for both. Thanks Uncle E ?? I can see what I will be doing this weekend
