Yay! Initial impressions? For anyone who missed it the link to buy Asterian (and Solaria) is here https://www.eclipsedsounds.com/shop The intro sale ($79.99 instead of $89.99) lasts until 9 December. Another new demo here...

I have voklm Fleer and it's noice. I'm thinking of going for Cinematic Shades with Fluidity and Organic Keys.
-
Hey, no problem Brian; I should have read your post more carefully, or even remembered there was a limit from previous years ??♂️ Now you've got me looking at that delay and Thorus ?
-
Ah yes, I had forgotten about the limit; post adjusted ?
-
Thanks Brian. Alternatively, maybe 3 expansions for $61 (3 x 27) - 20)). https://www.uvi.net/en/falcon-expansions

Grains and Fragments can be downloaded here.. https://feelyoursound.com/packages/grains-and-fragments/ You can just copy it and paste it in the Chordpotion UI. Also, worth checking that you have all of the existing packages for both ChordPotion and Sundog : Chordpotion packages - https://feelyoursound.com/packages-for-chordpotion/ Sundog packages - https://feelyoursound.com/packages-for-sundog/

More news on Asterian. They added two more vocal modes (see below) ! Also, the intro pricing will be extended by 1 week.
-
It runs on your own computer. No need for upload to the cloud for rendering. You get both standalone and vsti plugin versions when you purchase Synthesizer V. No iLok or similar dongle is required. It uses a serial number registration. Not aware of any sales as yet apart from intro offers.

Have to say that this is pretty impressive, even compared to Melodyne Studio which has become my standard pitch correction tool. The draw tool is pretty useful, and the way that you can tilt notes to fix pitch drops/lifts is also intuitive. I tried the demo and bought it (crossgrade from Vocalign Ultra)! It can even load Vocalign Ultra for alignment duties.

I'm also torn between Weina and Natalie. Weina is their first Gold standard bank which supports more tonal variety and vocal range. It is also bilingual (English and Mandarin Chinese) although I will only be using English. Also, the experts seem to have been able to get more out of Weina by manual tweaking. I do like the tone of Natalie though and of course, it is quite a bit cheaper. Decisions, decisions!

Latest Asterian demo - much clearer and more impressive to my ears. Also gives an idea of his range. They should have released this first imho. Also, their latest ad is a pretty cool demonstration of Synth V capabilities (the voicebank is thought to be Natalie).
-
Yes agreed; both on the voice not matching the music and it sounding more promising anyway.
-
Yes, it's been on my "to-buy" list for years, but I never thought it was worth what they were asking. Just demo'd it again now and it does sound great and is definitely worth 29 bucks.

Thanks for pointing this out @abacab. I have just added the MIDI Producer Pack to my Waveform 12 Free. I am curious about the MIDI capabilities of Waveform, but don't want the outlay of Pro to find out. Also, I did the 90 day demo if Waveform 11 Pro (for Wotja beta testing) but never got around to trying out the MIDI capabilities before it expired ?♂️
-
Good point, thanks. I have updated the title of this thread.
-
Latest Asterian demo. Better voice clarity on this one I think. Also, Asterian's vocal modes have been confirmed: Clear, Warm, Gentle, Strained, Rough, Open, Closed, Passionate and Theatrical.

Thanks for the video. Another useful one; I've watched a lot of his reviews. He even used it for de-essing ?
-
I like sonible stuff in general as I find their UIs to be pretty well designed. They can also get you close to the settings you want quickly often needing only minor manual tweaks. I have Trackspacer so will be interested to see how the unmasking capabilities compare with it. This video piqued my interest when Smart Comp 2 was introduced so I kept it on my radar waiting for a decent upgrade price.
-
Same for me on Sonible website. I have Smart Limit (and other Sonible stuff) which is now in my default template. I was waiting for Smart Comp 2 ??
-
Also added, thanks again. I'm out for the rest of the day so will have to add any updates later.
-
Thanks, I'll add it to the first post.

I have seen Tone2 sales on Bestservice before but don't recall seeing them on JRR. If you own any other Tone2 synths, then you can sometimes receive offers by email direct from them. Also, you can email them and ask for a price for a specific synth or synths, stating what you already own.
-
The trouble is that my opinion might be different from yours. Anyway, I own all of them and in my opinion they are among the best-sounding synths available.
-
Incidentally, you can download trial versions for evaluation from the Tone2 website. https://www.tone2.com/download.html
