  1. That combined with the embed patch mode - killer! ? The patch that Skippy comes up with in the video using Hive, Dune etc I now have recreated and saved!
  2. Download from your PG account https://www.pluginguru.com/my-account/ or from https://www.ilio.com/unify-updates if you bought from a 3rd party. Lots of great new stuff including a Load Random Patch option. Change Log: Version 1.8.0 (released 17 February 2022) This update is recommended for all Unify users. It includes significant enhancements and important bug fixes. New feature: Key Zones Patches can now optionally reference a "key zones" text file, which defines colored/named zones on the MIDI keyboard view in the GUI footer area. When zones are defined, ops-menus for MIDI and INST layers include a sub-menu to quickly set the layer key-range to match any named zone. New feature: Linked Media Patches can now have associated media links, which can reference local image files or web pages. Green border around thumbnail image indicates a local file link, blue border indicates a web link. Click on thumbnail to open linked content. New feature: INST layer titles automatically track name of the instrument preset Explicitly adding your own title disables this (edit back to blank to re-enable). Note not all third-party plug-ins report their current preset name to host. Unify itself and Guru Sampler now do report their current patch/SFZ name. Layer titles now update correctly when layers are rearranged/renumbered. New feature: Global Gain control Red slider next to thumbnail image, only active in stand-alone app. Allows reducing output level to avoid distortion due to overdriving audio hardware. Setting can be saved once the right level is found. New feature: Random patch button New "dice" icon between arrow buttons next to patch thumbnail image. Click to select a patch at random from among those currently displayed in Chooser (lower half of sidebar). Respects current Load-mode selection (menu at bottom-right corner of sidebar). Patch Browser changes All lists in Patch Selector (top half of sidebar) now update after you select a Library. All lists in Patch Selector display a "Clear" button when any items are selected. New "..." button next to Search text box allows selecting which fields are searched. "Genre" items have been removed. (They were unused, and there was no way to set the "genre" field.) Patch-load modes menu (bottom right of sidebar) now labeled "Mode", has an added "INST1 only" choice. Guru Sampler Numerous changes to SFZ file format, for compatibility with Bjoern's Sample Mapper. Several bugs fixed, mainly relating to mono/legato mode. Pump House Smoothing checkbox added. On by default: reduces DC clicks due to discontinuity between end of one cycle and start of next. Switch off to restore original, perfectly sample-accurate modulation. MIDIBox Added rising-edge triggered parameters corresponding to next/prev track and next/prev MIDI file. You can now use knobs and host-automation to select tracks and files. MIDI Filter New checkbox to filter out ALL note-events. Bundled plug-ins LoudMax updated to v1.4.1. All MOrgan plug-ins updated to latest versions. Smaller changes Channel pressure (aftertouch) can now be assigned to any macro knob. All pop-up (right-click) edit boxes now close automatically when you press Enter. Mouse wheel now works in CC sliders in ShowMIDI View. Ops menu for VST3 plug-ins includes "load .vstpreset" item. ShowMIDI keyboard-size and number of CC sliders are now remembered for future sessions. New setting to force embedded Unify layers to load with Master Effects layer enabled.
  3. @IainThompson I have just tried it and it worked ok. After clicking the orange Update button it took maybe 4 seconds before it started downloading. The update is around 295Mb, so not huge, but worth checking BTP's suggestion.
  4. Very sad news. Good luck for the future.
  5. @Reid Rosefelt Great work Reid! You must have put in a lot of work for this. Lots of useful tips and ideas to improve workflow. A must watch for Emvoice owners especially but also for anyone considering a vocal synthesis library purchase. I think the AI version of Eleanor Forte is more recent (Dec 21) than the non-AI (2018). I have both and, as expected, the AI Lite version is a significant improvement over the non-AI Lite version.
  6. Yup and it's for Kontakt Player for anyone who doesn't have full Kontakt. I'm loving all these huge discounts on Sample Logic libraries. Quality stuff!
  7. Here's the initial test I did. It's just the first verse and chorus of True Colors (based on the Cyndi Lauper version). This is the Eleanor AI Lite and Synth V Basic version --> https://soundclick.com/r/s8jv82 This is the Solaria and Synth V Pro version --> https://soundclick.com/r/s8ker8 These are mixed in CbB with my usual treatment on vocal tracks (Fabfilter compression, eq and some de-essing). I use the CA-2A on the vocal bus and a send for reverb. When you look at the waveforms in CbB for each vocal track the thing that stands out is that Solaria is much more dynamic. I can definitely see me buying some more AI voicebanks and even Eleanor Forte AI seems to bring a different tone to the table. Here's a song by one of the BIAB forum regulars on SoundCloud which features both Eleanor Forte AI and Solaria. https://soundcloud.com/dcuny/the-gates-of-babylon I will probably watch it anyway as your videos are always worth a watch ???
  8. I appreciate it guys. I bought the Kilohearts Ultimate Toolbox a few months ago and always intended to Unify Phase Plant, but there was an issue with handling the macros in Phase Plant (I won't go into the technical details here). It turns out that there's an undocumented feature in Unify which would have made it much easier. So I was planning to Unify it on Friday, but another guy on the PG Forum stepped in and volunteered to do it. I have to say that he has done a great job and even included all of the macro names from Phase Plant on every preset.
  9. Hi Reid, I think your analysis is fair, but I just thought I would add something as I have now jumped in and bought Synth V Pro along with Solaria and Ryo voicebanks. I guess I would fall into the category of someone who would like to "push the envelope on what a virtual voice can do". My own voice is just okay, and is not likely to improve as I get older. So having male/female demo singers available to sing my songs as realistically as possible with the least effort seems the way to go for me. After buying SV Pro and the voicebanks I thought it might be interesting to simply replace Eleanor Forte AI Lite with Solaria in one of my early SV projects, to see if I could tell much difference. Let's just say that I'm still trying to pick my jaw off the floor I have been following the improvements in SV and AI voicebanks for months, but I honestly didn't expect such a difference between the lite and Pro versions. Maybe some of the differences are to do with them being different voicebanks idk. Something I have discovered is the Auto Pitch Tuning feature which I had initially ignored thinking it was like Autotune/Melodyne. What it seems to do is to make the rise to the start of notes and the drop at the end of notes sound more realistic like a human would sing. Some of the results sound so realistic and, even where the notes are actually slightly out of tune, that in itself makes it sound more realistic. Anyway, I will look forward to watching your video.
  10. Also available are my newly Unified GForce Minimonsta, Unified Waldorf Largo and updated Dune 3.5 factory libraries. You can also still get Tone2 Saurus 3 and updated Pigments 3.5 Unifed factory libraries which I Unified last week. Another user has also Unified the Phase Plant factory library (some minor changes to make to it but it's very useable as is). Download links are here... https://www.pluginguru.com/products/unify-standard/ More details in yesterday's livestream where Skippy also demonstrates some of the new features in the new version of Unify, 1.8 which is due out on Thursday.
  11. That's cheapest I can find it so far. Xils Labs have it for 89 EUR Some of those demos do sound gorgeous (e.g. Through The Flames To The Ocean (Adam Borseti)) but I have Cherry Polymode which is probably good enough for me. https://www.xils-lab.com/products/polym-p-160.html#
  12. Thanks for the recommendations Fleer. I really love Phase Plant but some of the more EDM focussed banks are really not my cup of tea. I own Tremor and the Grattis 2021 freebie, but I was tempted by Animus, Suspension or maybe the Andrew Huang one (enjoy his YouTube channel).
  13. Yup, it was actually quite fun. I'm like you - tweak existing presets rather than start from scratch. I must do more. ? Good idea ??
  14. Done! Yes the instructions were pretty clear. I used the pictures to check that my cables looked the same at the end (different colours though). Also, I had a stuck note after connecting the amp output which cleared after reloading the patch (there is also a free MIDI panic module). Only another 39 to go ?
  15. @abacab I missed that one! Thanks for sharing. Now I know what I'll be doing on Sunday ?
  16. The free version is standalone only Reid. The Pro version includes a plugin version as well as standalone. Here's a more up-to-date comparison of Pro vs Basic...
  17. Voicebanks are quite small. For example, Eleanor AI voicebank is around 26Mb. As for the synth itself, SV Basic/Pro specs says it requires 1Gb for one voicebank but it's 44Mb on my system. You can download the demos from the link above to get an idea.
  18. That's exactly what I had in mind ?. Although I am exploring all of the great Kontakt libraries at the moment with Wotja driving it. Something that sounds universally great is a Wotja ambient preset pointing at Amadeus Symphony patch!
  19. Yes, you can get the SV Basic free version and Lite voicebanks from here (scroll to bottom of the page) ---> https://dreamtonics.com/en/synthesizerv/
  20. Thanks Larry! I've been waiting for a sale to grab SV Pro and I'll probably go with either Ryo or Kevin so that I have a solid male voicebank to accompany Solaria (from https://www.eclipsedsounds.com/ ). Here's a demo of Kevin... and Ryo (he can also sing in English) ...and Qing Su, a native Chinese female AI voice singing in English.
  21. Oh no! I've just spotted there's a trial version - be a shame not to, eh?
  22. I figured you had the "divil" in you in your post, although I am tempted by that EDM Country content ? (not) I saw that MYST post as well and it brings back memories of spending A LOT of time on that one. Unfortunately, I have zero time for games these days and have a lot that I haven't even installed. Actually, that's not quite true - I've been teaching my daughter chess on a real chessboard!
