Thanks Larry. It's also available on IOS and sounds amazing (£6.99 so probably $6.99). Will definitely demo the Windows version. Have you demo'd this @Zo?
  2. Ok I have raised a support ticket with ILIO. Under settings - Patch database you can click on "View database" to see the patches and their tags. You can see a couple of those patches in this screenshot which should be tagged "PG-8X" and that it is only present for the "KEY - Spittin Piano" patch on my install. The other patches do have other tags present though and seem to work fine.
  3. DaVinci Resolve has been updated to v16.2 and there is now also a separate download for Fairlight Sound Library 1.0. The latter adds over 500 royalty free sounds (~1.5Gb uncompressed) for use with the foley sampler in DaVinci Resolve 16. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/
  4. Thanks, yes that 2.35 Gb file was installed when I first got Unify on 25th Feb and the file date has not changed from that. I think that was v1.0.9 and the install instructions were different depending on whether you already had an earlier version installed. I didn't and I followed their instructions to the letter. The 10 new presets in 1.0.12 are also present in \Unify\Libraries\Unify Standard Library\Patches folder and work fine as per John's video. I mean it all seems to work fine, it just appears to be missing the tags discussed above for some reason. Then again it makes me wonder how many other tags are missing. At least it will be a good opportunity to test the 3rd party support on this as it was not bought directly from PG.
  5. Ok thanks - yes I also haven't used it in earnest yet although I have been through and favourited quite a few patches These are the files I have for the latest update with their file sizes (I haven't listed all the files inside the main zip as they are just a .rtf and a website link): UnifySetup.exe (the main file inside the ILIO_Unify_Win64_1.0.12.zip file) is 38.3 MB (40,257,462 bytes) or "size on disk" 38.3 MB (40,259,584 bytes) Unify Content 1.0.12 Update.guru is 578 KB (592,722 bytes) or "size on disk" 580 KB (593,920 bytes)
  6. Yes I got both thanks Simon although I thought the guru file was quite small. Then again it didn't add much. I added it via the settings menu rather than dragging /dropping to the UI if that makes a difference. One thing that does occur to me is that I didn't refresh the patch list (thunderbolt icon) on previous updates before applying new updates and I wonder if that has somehow affected the tags even though all the updates went without a hitch. I'm thinking that should be an automatic action on updating without requiring user intervention.
  7. Yes I did hit reset all first. All my files came via ilio btw as I purchased from Audiodeluxe. I might also reinstall everything.
  8. Thanks - I do have all of those patches but the only one listed when I use tag "PG-8X" is "KEY - Spittin Pianos". I tried those other patches and they aren't crashing.
  9. It's not crashing here either Matthew. Tried standalone, VST2 and VST3 BUT I only seem to have one patch under PG-8X which is KEY - Spittin Piano. Wish they would display a total number of patches to make it easier to see that you have the correct number of them.
  10. Thanks TS! Just a note to anyone who has updated. After updating you need to rebuild the patch database (press the lightning bolt top right of the browser) in order to see the new patches. These are discussed further in the latest livestream...
  11. Good find Christian! I got it at Blue Cat's site as nobody else had it at the time. I guess I shoulda waited
  12. Wish it was that much in the UK! Instabuy in the USA I'd say
  13. AcouFiend is pretty much the same as Mesh's response re the Freqout pedal. The authorization is by user name and key which you enter when you first run it. There's a demo version here if you want to try it Grem... https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_AcouFiend/ Also these YouTube videos are worth watching... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om1I6i5zbPw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg_ZUMHy-84
  14. I like your thinking @aidan o driscoll... That might be all I need to push me over the edge. Thanks for emailing them and fingers crossed they make it happen!
  15. Yeah Christian, it's a doozy alright! Sorry to be responsible for lightening your wallet It goes back to a discussion I had with Mesh...he bought the Freqout (and Larry had also given it a glowing report before). I have a Les Paul with a Fernandez Sustainer pickup on it which can do some similar things to the Freqout pedal but of course it's only on one guitar whereas the Freqout can be used on any guitar (or other instrument/voice). Then I wondered whether there was a VST effect that could so something similar and at the time I drew a blank looking for one. Next thing I see Blue Cat has brought out AcouFiend! Job's a goodun! ?
  16. I tried the Mercuriall Euphoria demo Mesh and feel the same as you about it. I decided to get that AcouFiend plugin as an alternative to the Freqout pedal (although may also get that in the long run

  18. I have been playing with it some more today in Studio One and the workflow is pretty smooth and fast. I might still be tempted before the 15 days are over
  19. Seems an odd strategy doesn't it? Especially in the current climate with seemingly everyone offering sale prices or freebies on their products.
  20. That seems to be the case Simon. It's 99 euro or 79 euro for the first 15 days with the special coupon code in Matthew's post ( ORBREWARD ).
  21. Great video! Gotta demo this one.
  22. Thanks Matthew. One thing it has convinced me to do is spend more time using Cubase. I really like it but feel like a newb whenever I use it.
  23. I have now briefly tested it in Studio One Pro, Cubase 10 and Reaper 6 and they all seem to work more reliably than CbB, especially where selecting things in one part is supposed to be sync'd to the other parts. The shared top part of the interface seems to be easiest to work with in Studio One where each part appears on a tab of the same window although I'm not as familiar with Cubase and Reaper as I am CbB and S1 so I might be doing them a disservice. I also tried it with Amadeus in Kontakt using Cubase (Chords - piano, Melody - Trumpet, Bass - Double Bass, Arp - Harp) and got some nice results but as you say the lack of velocity variance and articulation switching can make the sections sound a bit robotic. I liked the idea of themes and got some nice variations using them. I would like a bit more in-depth manual to be able to get the most out of it and understand what all of the various options do. Do you think owning one of their previous products made it easier to use Orb Producer or does it work quite differently? If I were to buy it I think I would probably use it mostly to generate initial ideas and then drag out the MIDI to refine by hand also adding articulations and other expression variations. I didn't notice any timing issues in Cubase but I probably had it set up differently to you due to my lack of in-depth knowledge of Cubase. For me I think the jury is still out.
