  1. I just WUP'd a few bits through Koby and he always comes up trumps ? I also got the voucher through from Waves for the value of everything I WUP'ed. So I'm now looking at the latest Waves sale, subtracting 15% (Koby's price) and subtracting the voucher which is making an upgrade to Horizon look very attractive (Mercury would be great but that's still a bit too much!).

    JRR Shop

It's is working at the moment but my order history only goes back to November 2018, same as @Grem. I also keep everything but it is also handy to be able to find a full purchase history in your account.
  6. Cheers Larry! Your "software update" radar is in top form as usual ?
  7. Thanks guys. I actually had Sound Canvas VA set up on the old PC with VSTHost (which looks a lot like savihost) for playing MIDI files outside of DAWs etc. It was a bit archaic in the way it operated though but not bad for free. I'm sure I have also installed LoopBe on my old PC for some other piece of software that required it, can't remember now. I will investigate further, thanks again ?
  8. You must have read my mind John! I was just going to ask whether anyone had tried any of the Coolsoft stuff. What I would ideally like is to make windows 10 use my Sound Canvas VA software as the default MIDI device. Can you do that with their MIDI mapper or do you need VirtualMIDISynth? Thanks John
  9. Hey Mesh, that's pretty much how I use it. It will never replace Band in a box but for quick sketching it's excellent. It's also a lot smaller footprint! Some of the styles are a bit cheesy but there are quite a few good ones also.
  10. Another small tweak (I do like how easy it is to do these in CP) to create the break at the end of the chorus...
  11. Thanks, I like the dark skin and the color gradient! ? I wondered the same and I even started out on that journey, but then realised I have a million and one things I should be doing instead ?
  12. Thanks John, that will certainly save some time.
  13. Hey good effort John! Slow Ballad (under Pop styles) seems to work quite well but I'm still going through them to see if there any better ones (remembering to lock the tempo first). With the Bm in the chorus you can almost get the sequence they do on the song by replacing Bm for the whole bar with quarter notes for Bm - A (C# bass) - D - Em. It really needs eighth notes for the final Em followed by D (F# bass) but I don't think CP will do eighth notes so I have just left out the D (F# bass).
  14. Good reminder in case anyone missed my post ?

    VSTBuzz Freebies

I know this gets posted from time to time but I'm sure there's quite a bit more there than when I last looked so it's always worth checking back there from time to time. https://vstbuzz.com/freebies/ Also, I just bought Dune 3 and went looking for some soundbanks for it only to find a free one by Rob Lee at VSTBuzz. They seem to have some others for Dune 1, Dune 2, SynthMaster, SynthMaster One, U-He Diva, Sylenth, Zebra HZ, Korg MonoPoly and even Omnisphere.
  16. Indeed! I think it's a one man development "team" so I'm grateful that he's still developing it. I was kinda hoping for a VST version but it's still very useful as a standalone program and a mini sidekick to BIAB.
  17. Thanks for checking @twelvetone I have been out for a while and only just got back. I guess I will just leave that project as is for now and carry on working my way through all of the other projects. I suspect it is corrupted in some way and I need to check through some backups to see if I have an earlier version of it that still retains the MIDI but not the odd behaviour with saving audio.
  18. Waiting for this one, thanks and also @lawajava for the heads-up! ?
  19. Thanks @twelvetone. The old project was created in September 2017 so I think it would have been created with Sonar Platinum. There's something odd with that particular project though because other projects created at the same time have an Audio folder within the project folder and save their audio correctly there when loaded into CbB. So my question is where exactly is "the old default setting to save audio with the project" that you mention? I cannot locate it in CbB.
  20. I am just going through all my old projects from my old PC and checking that I can load them okay on my new PC. Most of them seem to be fine but on one project the MIDI tracks are OK but it cannot find any of the Audio content (vocals). On further inspection there is no Audio folder in the project folder and if I right click on the blank Audio in CbB and select "Associated Audio Files" they point to C:\Cakewalk Projects\Audio Data. I don't understand why it would have saved the audio there for one project and not others and I cannot find the missing files anywhere on my old system. I have resigned myself to re-recording the vocals for that track as any backups would only be backups of the project folder. I have copied the project folder to a new location to work on it (and to preserve the old folder if I ever find the original vocal audio tracks). I used Save Copy As which also creates a sub folder for Audio. However, on the copied project, when I record new audio it still saves the audio in C:\Cakewalk Projects\Audio Data ??? ? even though it has set up an Audio folder within the new project folder. The global audio folder setting is set to C:\Cakewalk Projects\Audio Data but that's also the case for my other projects which save correctly to their local Audio folder. So what's going on with this project and how do I save a version which correctly uses it's own local Audio folder for recorded audio? The MIDI is all fine and took a while to make so I don't want to have to re-do all of that from scratch. Thanks for any help. ZT By the way, any new projects that I create on the new PC do correctly save their audio to their own local Audio folder.

  23. Oh I do! I do! not well, maybe a bit.
  24. That's always the issue I have with articles and tweak tools. I have bookmarked quite a few in the past only to find that their recommendations are out of date on the next Windows update.
  25. Thanks abacab. Do you or anyone else use any Windows 10 tweaker tools and can recommend any? Such as... https://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.1836 or https://www.thewindowsclub.com/ultimate-windows-tweaker-4-windows-10 Thanks
