I have updated the Dune 3 Unified Factory Library to include the 40 new factory patches in v3.5. Here's the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/j2gnfsd6zttiw3w/Unified - SA Dune 3.guru?dl=0 You just need to drag/drop the guru file onto Unify and it will update your Dune 3 Unified library. You need to own the full version of Unify and Dune 3 (updated to the latest version 3.5.1.2) to use this. Here are the names of the 40 extra patches: https://www.synapse-audio.com/dune/dune35new.txt Enjoy! (I have also sent these to John who will hopefully incorporate them into the official list on the PG website).

Sounds pretty neat @abacab I gave VIP a go a while back but just never gelled with it for some reason. Shame that it's end of life or I would have had another look.
-
The other biggie for me is the ease with which I can come up with killer patch combinations e.g start with a Unify patch, click and add a Hive patch, click and add a Zebra patch etc. Skippy demonstrates this a lot in his livestreams. This is probably what distinguishes it the most from any other DAW for me.
-
I specifically didn't mention threads as the Unify manual only states that it makes use of individual cores on each layer. https://pluginguru.net/unify/manual/doku.php?id=overview If you want really technical details on it's inner workings probably best to ask the author Shayne Dunne.
-
The big advantage of Unify over other similar things is that each layer can use a different core in your cpu. So, for example, an 8 layer sound in Omnisphere might stress your CPU, whereas a similar patch in Unify would use different cores for each layer and potentially reduce the cpu load. There are a whole load of other benefits which I won't repeat here. Just watch some of Skippy's livestreams to get the gist.

Try the demo @Zo, you might be convinced! https://www.pluginguru.com/products/unify-demo/

Yes, I'm beta testing and it's looking good.

That reminds me; I Unified quite a few on that list and some of the original libraries have been updated so the Unified libraries need updating to reflect the changes. e.g. new patches in the latest Dune 3. There are also quite a few other 3rd party libraries that I and others have Unified. I posted quite a few on their forum e.g. Ultra Analog VA-3, Swatches 1.5.2, Super-8, Lounge Lizard EP-4, UVI Synth Anthology 3 and some I have still to post. You can find these and others here https://forums.pluginguru.com/unify-patchbook/ and here https://forums.pluginguru.com/unify-share/

Yup, cracking deal. Wonder if they'll unlock Amp Room Marshall edition at some point?

Also, if you own a previous Wavesynth you can upgrade to Wavesynth Pro for $29 ($10 reduction in cart). This comes with Wavesynth: The Classic library, VHS Cinema and Glow.

Pretty great prices, thanks Larry! I'm using Amp Room a lot at the moment. Tempted by Model 72 (downloading the demo).

Hey, nice work on the AAS front @Starship Krupa ? I remember working my way through your tutorial and finding/removing all of those pesky 32 bit culprits. The NI installer still complains about plugins being broken because it can't find the 32 bit versions but I got used to living with that. The other thing that "bothers" my OCD are installers which ask where they should put 32 bit VSTs and then afterwards let you choose NOT to install them. I have learned to live with this though as it is so common. EDIT: Found it!

Good summary @abacab I also started with the free nucleus followed by Ignite which I bought from Larry (nice price if I recall) ? I have added a lot since then, all purchased in sales plus a freebie (Year One Collection) which Cherry gave me as compensation after one of their standalone synths deleted all of my VST2 folder contents on installing it ? I had a backup but it still took some effort to get it all back to how it was before, as I had installed/updated many things since the backup. I now keep my Cherry Audio stuff in a sub-folder of my main VST2 folder and backup the VST folder before installing anything

He does have soooo many sales but I like him as a small dev and have bought quite a few things from him. One of his oddly named plugins which I like is HateFishRhyGenerator ( https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hatefish-rhygenerator/ ) to generate Euclidean rhythms.
-
Thanks TA ? I must find that old post by @Starship Krupa about where NI installs all of it's 32 bit plugins so I can delete them again.

Same here.

8DIO downloader hasn't worked here for a while. It always says "Can't get product URL with specified serial code". So I have been d/loading manually, which usually works ok. I'll see what I get after it has finished downloading... Seems to be 2 RARs - one around 896 Mb and another about half that. UPDATE: After unRARing I get a folder with only Resources and Samples folders, same as Larry and Tracing Arcs.
-
I also got it on sale around that price. The only issue for me is the tiny UI on my Ultrawide monitor, something which is not an issue with Arturia CZ V. The CZ101 was also my first synth and I was also an Amiga user back then (did you have Dr T's KCS by any chance?).

With Cubase Pro you only get HALion Sonic SE 3 and the Pro set of sounds. I'm not sure what content that is exactly as I upgraded to HS3 and then Halion 6 a while back which both come with 35+ Gb of sounds. I'm pretty sure that it should be more than 700Mb though. -

@Brian Lawler Yes, they certainly make you work for a freebie! I lost count of how many clicks I had to make before it was installed. @Zo I also have around 700Mb in that location but the main 35Gb content is on another SSD which I have set up in Steinberg Library Manager. Most of what's in ProgramData appears to be shortcuts to stuff I have moved to the SSD. If you have anything there that you want to register in SLM the easiest way is to double click on the .vstsound files. -

Thanks Mark. I was logged in but it didn't work. Then I tried logging out and logging back in again and this time it worked. Thanks for the suggestion although I will still hold on for now. Might work for others though.
