  1. I use the dark grey screen as well. Using it is not my job but I do like the new UI better. I hope you get to a point where it's usable for you.
  2. Really nice, the mix is a treat, very smooth. Loved the percussion and the interplay between bass and drums. Excellent!

    Wanna Do

I really like this, lovely vocals with a sweet melody and a very cool rhythm. The autotune is more of a a style these days and you use it to good effect, never overdone. The mix is sublime. I thought the guitars, while relatively subtle, add so much texture that they almost push this track into another genre. Really stellar effort. And oh yeah, it needs a guitar solo. 😁
  4. Love the lyrics, the mix was really clean and I love the way you captured that acoustic guitar. Also dug the string solo, I guess it's been the Beatles since I've heard one of those lol. More of these please!
  5. This is great, Hawkwind came to my mind too. There are lots of layers and depth to this, but I agree with the bass/kick comments above. Super fun!
  6. This is a killer track. I loved the flow and the dynamics. The ending is just fantastic. I loved the tone of the LP especially, but really, everything just shines in this one. I'm looking forward to the album!
  7. Thanks, glad you like it! I used the Tonex VST plugin. Using the hardware is a more complicated proposition. I also used the Tonex plugin's tremolo effect for that guitar.
  8. It's a got a nice groove and excellent instrument tones, and that goes a long way. I enjoyed your lead, it kept me interested, nice!
  9. Thanks so much for your feedback, really glad you liked it!
  10. Thank you for listening, glad you enjoyed it. It seems like blue notes are all I have, relisted or not! 😀

    Jam

Great vibe, loved it. Brings back a lot of memories!
  12. Thanks for giving it a spin!
  13. Thanks, Steve, I appreciate you listening. I very nearly cut that line out, glad I didn't. 😬 Have one on me!
  14. Steve, I really like the T12, and it was pretty easy to build. The instructions are great and easy to follow. It has a very lovely warm sound to my ears, and it's the only really decent mic I own other than 57s and 58s. I use it for acoustic guitar and vocals, and yes, for a kit is a bit expensive but I think it punches pretty far above its weight class. Lately I have been reverting to using an old SM57 for vocals because as I get older my voice has been getting fuzzier and harder to set into the mix. The 57 helps a lot there. The plugins I use were all bought during sales during which I was able to pick up individual packages at steeply discounted prices. Keep your eyes open for sales, that's the only same way to buy software as far as I'm concerned.
  15. I spent a day working with the latest drop, I haven't run across any issues. Of course I'm not as deep a user as many here, but I depend on the things I use and they all work flawlessly. Seems like a pretty solid effort, congrats Cakewalk!
  16. Thanks for listening Steve, Beatles? Gosh, I love hearing your feedback. 😀 It's nice to hear your comments on the quality of my recordings, I consider myself a rank amateur compared to you and many others on this forum, notably Bats Brew, Devine, Baselines and Mark Skinner, so thank you for that. Yes, I do all of my own recording and mastering. My setup is prelatively simple, all in the box with no external hardware other than the interface. I have a few nice guitars, a Strat, an Eastman semihollow body and a good old p-bass. I use an an Audient ID22 interface and an SM57 mic and a Microphone Parts T12 mic I built from a kit . I use Tonex for all guitars and bass, mostly using Amalgam Audio profiles of Marshall, Vox, GK and Supro amps. I sometimes use a Waves maxxbass plug, and most always use izotope nectar for vocals, Valhalla supermassive for some reverbs and Izotope ozone for mastering. Addictive Drums and EZ Drummer for drums. For this song I used both, panned hard left and right playing. Any keys or synths use Dimension or Z3TA and since I don't play keys, I use PRV to create key and synth parts. I use Slate's VSX headphones for all mixing and mastering. I credit any goodness in my recordings to the Audient preamps for their warm, clean sound. It's hard to record something that sounds bad, even with my rudimentary guitar skills. Finally, I use the awesome Sonar for its ability to let me do take after take after take after take...
  17. Wow, great rocker! Kept me interested all the way through with the dynamics. Vocals are a standout (that bridge!) as are the lyrics. Guitars sound great too, nice one!
  18. What a beautiful, dreamy song! The vocals are mesmerizing and the guitar is lovely. I agree with others, remove a bit of mud, add some air and get some definition on the bass and this will be even more captivating.
  19. Pretty amazing, Steve. This song brings back a lot of great memories and you absolutely nailed it.
  20. Great one, loved the guitars! Had flies I'm my teeth after listening!
  21. This is clearly a labor of love and you've done it proud, I'm a fan! The mix is lucious. Your vocals are great!
  22. One of my favorite bands of the 80's, great cover. I love the chewy bass/rhythm guitar sounds, they really nail down the sound. A pristine mix, as always. You have far more patience than I do! Well done!
  23. Great mix, playing and lyrics,. I love the dynamics of this song. And man, that vocalist can belt out a tune!
  24. Enjoyed it, vocals sound nice and warm!
