A user posted this on the Melda forum. He's working on a reproduction of a "classic analog synths - Octave Cat". (Disclaimer: I honestly have no idea what this is/was nor if this is a good representation of it.) He did everything in this with MSF - even the drums... Sounds pretty good to me though!
-
Melda is doing right by their users once again. Honestly, MSoundFactory had no appeal to me because I still find the Melda UIs a little counter-intuitive sometimes. And MSF is a few steps up from that! But the LE and Player versions are right down my alley - pre-made instruments that you can try out without having to design them yourself. And guys are making NEW ones all the time. Whether or not they'll be made available to the lesser versions remains to be seen. I really need to dig into the FREE subscription next month before it times out and play with these things to see which other Melda plugins I'll add to my "want" list.
-
Good news! I actually emailed support the other day and asked this same question. And the answer is YES, it does work with the FREE player.
-
Ahhh.... ?
-
?? I can't help it. I always think "steel toed boot" when I see him do that... ?
-
Full Kontakt... ?

That does sound pretty great. How is it on the CPU? Can you use other plugins besides? How many of you guys regularly use N4? Is "Pink" a direct substitute for "N4"? Is it better than N4? I think I have a free N4 and couldn't figure out what it was supposed to do?
-
I had/have no idea what "N4" is, just like most of their plugin names. From what I gather it's a "hardware emualtor". That's nothing new. From the description: "Experience the full power of our proprietary audio processing technology, based on Vectorial Volterra Kernels, and find out what Nebula technology can do for you"... Sorry, but it just sounds like marketing jargon. But when you guys who own the plugins speak so highly of them, that's different and makes me think twice. Still, 79 Euros is no "bargain".
-
I'll have to give them another look, because they do update often and you guys seem to like them. Although honestly, they're still way too $$ for the likes of me.
-
Wow! You have lightened the load quite a bit! Where do you sell them - KVR?
-
Sorry, but Acustica and "truly affordable prices" just don't belong in the same sentence... ? To their credit, they have beautiful UIs and have given away some nice plugins - which I never really use because of the CPU hit...
-
(bump.) "Those Four Notes" is a great selling point! Clever video!! I had this in my shopping cart for a week or so considering buying it to get the freebie this month. Then I saw this MixBusTV review and bought it on the spot. I was going to come here to post about it, but you guys already had it covered. (I haven't used it yet, but thinking it WILL get some use!)
-
Yes, that's a requirement from Waves which, IMHO is totally bogus. I bought the plugin, I should be able to sell it. (Not the I really sell plugins but I think it's a pretty ridiculous money grab on their part.) And I'm sorry, but just simply changing the version number does not qualify for an "update". But it DID cause no end to the headaches of trying to get "previous" versions to run... === edit === I don't mean to sound "angry". I like some of my Waves plugins a lot, I just wish they wouldn't "age out" without me having to pay a LOT of $$.
-
I wouldn't go this far. Maybe for resale, but I still use a few of my Waves plugins. They've definitely got some good ones.
-
Just curious, has there ever been a plugin "update" other than the recent UI for the Renaissance plugins? (Not being sarcastic, this is a real question. )
-
Sorry Lars, this does not qualify to be in Deals. Not only is my WUP is "over their cap", but it would be $192.08 with the 25% "discount". Thank you Melda (and other devs) for no nonsense purchases and updates for life. You earn loyal customers that way...

Loudness Targets for Streaming Services (not a deal...but FREE)
mibby replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
And here are a couple of sites where you can drop your mix and they'll analyze the loudness for you... https://www.loudnesspenalty.com/ https://youlean.co/file-loudness-meter/ Definitely a "deal"!- 1 reply

Not worth the WUPping for a better GUI tho...
-
That looks like my v9 version. Doesn't it have a fancy new UI?
-
I use and like the VPRE-73. A LOT! It's got a nice grit to it and some features you don't see on most saturators. However, I also got the Magnetite on sale and was very excited about it. This one I am very "meh" on and am still looking for a use for it. The jury is out on this one. But that's it for me, the other plugins have always been too $$ and now I'm pretty much set with compressor for the next couple of lifetimes...
-
No, that would be me...
-
When Sonar went belly-up, the Nomad guys very graciously gave users a deeply discounted upgrade to their stuff. Sadly, I never used the coupon and it no longer works... ? I DO use Bus Driver fairly often and quite like it, and I'd suspect these have similar saturation algorithms, but that's just a wild-@ss guess...

There's a few threads on the Presonus forum and some goods videos on Production Expert. It's a little controversial because of some Crosstalk "bugs", but I love the one that comes with Studio One and am thinking really hard about this one. My niggling beef is that they have given it away to new users recently and IMHO it should be part of the professional version of the DAW... (Now get out of my yard you damn kids! Hrmph! ) ===== Here you go James. As I said, I'm thinking hard about this one - I have it bookmarked. https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/studio-one//6-things-you-should-know-about-the-ctc-1-pro-console-shaper-from-ari-ahrendt

Yep. But if you're patient you can usually get CM for $5. It's also worth keeping an eye out for their "monthly giveaway". I've bought a few times just for those. But, $19 plus the freebie is a totally good deal IMHO.

Sidewidener is really good. It's nice to have the different flavors and tones. I got it with the Computer Music bundle - that's the best way to get it. Then you get scads of other plugins too. JST Clip is great too. Boz programmed that one too.
