I've had it for a few years. I think I paid like $80 bucks for it. It was one of my first "big" plugin purchases. ?

Kilohearts ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Avoid upgrading to MacOS 14.4
mibby replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
... that a new Mac release will break things? I think this is the 3rd dev I've seen throw out this warning. -
Anyone who hasn't been scooped by Lars over the years just hasn't tried posting deals enough! ?

Cool! I've been thinking about a plugin manager app for a long while now. This ties you to KVR, but they've already got a plugin database, so there's that. I wonder how well Devs keep their versions updated on KVR? I think iLok is missing out on a real opportunity to do something similar themselves.
-
PS. I had to uninstall the VCA Comp (again) and reinstall with the "Automatically authorize" option off in the settings to get the VCA authorized to only my iLok... Now to actually try it out. ?

I've been updating plugins every night this week! "Marketing" - I find the "Oops, I just sent you the wrong link, let me send you another email with the correct link emails especially irritating. I also skip over YouTube videos if some wanna be influencer is mugging for the camera to try and get my attention. ...or "the 5 must have plugins for [insert purpose here]. Yes, I'm grumpy today. It's been a long week...

There are 2 of them. One is USB and the other is TB. These are B-Stock. They are factory refurbished and sold direct from Universal Audio. They come with a factory warranty and the same plugins the new ones do. If I hadn't literally bought one in January, I'd be all over these! I have NEVER seen this low a price on them and I've been watching them for literally years! https://reverb.com/item/33185788-universal-audio-apollo-twin-duo-usb-audio-interface-refurbished-new https://reverb.com/item/37882428-universal-audio-apollo-twin-duo-mkii-thunderbolt-audio-interface-refurbished-new

They've had these for awhile, but I don't remember the Flash one. (Transient shaper/clipper) Get 'em here: https://www.wavesfactory.com/free-vst-plugins/ They're also having a nominal 25% sale until Mar 10. PS. Track Spacer is awesome.

Softube VCA Compressor Worth $149 - Free During March 2024
mibby replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
If you go into Softube Central, Settings, the first item in there is "Auto Activate" which is set on by default and activates to the machine. I was getting squirrelly results attempting to active to my iLok only. By toggling this to OFF, I was finally able to active the VCA Compressor to ONLY my iLok. Before, I couldn't figure out how/why it was always doing a Machine Activation no matter what. And yes, I uninstalled and there was another one in there. Anyway, I'm on iLok only now with 2 other activations available. HTH! -
Promo is over. I already have 6 of them though. The last giveaway was Dec 23, so I'm still "wupped". But what's the point if they don't update it anymore?
-
Yep, that's when I picked it up.

I regularly use Nova's SmartOps as a starting place to find resonances. Lately I have been liking it better than MAutoDynamicEQ for this purpose. (I usually try them both.) It can do other things too, like eq matching and the pink noise spectrum flattening thing. AND the UI on Nova is second to none IMHO, although I'm not crazy about how the SmartOps thing was implemented. Do yourself a favor and watch a Dan Worrall video on it. It's an awesome and crazy affordable plugin with these sales.

Dirk Ulrich is leaving Native Instruments (not a deal)
mibby replied to Yan Filiatrault's topic in Deals
Fixed. -- edit -- BTW, I'm not poking fun at either of you. You're both making some great points. I'm just enjoying the new word. -
I'm hoping for another $25 Thank You coupon too!

Good point - I totally agree. But wouldn't a software solution be a better for a little workstation rig too? ?
-
Thanks! That looks perfect!

It was free when it first came out over a year ago. I hate to say it, I just used mine for the first time the other day and I kind of liked it. Although, now my copy is due for WUPping.

YES!!!! This would be ideal, but waaaay out of my price range. And yes, it makes sense that IK is targeting those of us who can't afford something like the Trinnov system. I do feel that IK is missing an opportunity by not competing with Sonarworks on the system wide software solution. What's the advantage of a hardware box if it can be done with software?
-
@Grem - yeah, I know I can do this, but I was hoping for a "system wide" solution so I can reference from Tidal or YouTube with my corrected EQ in place. After going down the rabbit hole yesterday trying to figure this out, it looks like my Windows USB Apollo does NOT have the I/O Routing Matrix that makes this possible with the UAD interfaces. I have a question on their forum about it, but I think I'm "done". Thanks though! ^^^ This ^^^ is what I would inevitably do and what I was trying to avoid. You can set up profiles for each speaker system. But I guess if you have them all running a the same time... On the other hand, it's really only when you're mixing that you need the correction, so maybe you could use it for your control room?
-
I'm reading up on them now. Thanks!
-
Hmmmm... I'm on Windows and I've recently updated to an Apollo Twin and I'm still learning about the interface. I'd need to be able to "host" the Arc3 plugin in the Console, right? I think I can only use UAD plugins on the Console.
-
Thanks for checking! I would LOVE to use the calibrated EQ from ARC3, but if I can't use it when referencing other mixes outside my DAW, it's pointless. Actually, it's worse than pointless because I'm not listening to my mix the same way I'm listening to the reference. That's nice! Unfortunately I don't have this option.

Nevermind the SOS article - it's basically an ad...
