  1. You looking in the wrong place. The company that made SONAR is no more but their website is still running for users who already own the products. BandLab purchased the Cakewalk IP from Gibson and with a couple of the staff from the old company created a new free product called Cakewalk by BandLab. To install Cakewalk by BandLab download and run the new Cakewalk Web Installer.
  2. The image in your post above BandLab the web-based DAW. That is not CbB the Windows DAW developed from SONAR.
  3. There is no paid version of CbB. Hopefully you are not confusing BandLab the web-based DAW with Cakewalk by BandLab the Windows DAW program. What version are you running. Maybe posting an image of what you are seeing or a link to the youtube video may help.
  4. With the exception of adding a few more options, visually the preference screen has not changed since the first release. If documented features are not visible, it may be your workspace setting. If workspaces is set to None and the FX racks are not visible, it could be the Track Control drop down setting
  5. Is "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Studio Instruments" or any of the subdirectories compressed compressed?
  6. There still may be a problem with the MS redistributable libraries You can download them from Microsoft or use this special installer @Jonathan Sasor built. If you elect to get them from Microsoft you will need the x64 versions for "Visual Studio 2012", "Visual Studio 2013" and "Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022"
  7. BA is being phased out for CbB installs and updates. Try the Cakewalk Web Installer
  8. Preferences is a graphical editor for master.ins

    Virtual Synth goes dead

Well known issue with Cakewalk sfz engine synths such as Rapture Session and Studio Instruments. See this post for solutions
  10. It is possible using directory junctions. I find it preferable in most cases to use directory junctions rather than messing with preferences and registry entries. There are several discussions about how to use directory junctions. Search the forum for mklink
  11. To save browsing time make sure to save the location(s) in the media browser drop down
  12. Did you watch the video in the Motu getting started link? There is a mention about setting the sample rate in the Motu config software if there is no sound from the device.
  13. I doubt it is the port or cable if the device is seen by Windows but they are easy tests.
  14. Did you try a different USB cable and port on the PC?
  15. Contact the dealer and see what they say. If it does not play any Windows audio, this is not a CbB configuration problem.
  16. If the device is set as the Windows default audio device, the drivers are installed properly and it makes no sound this does not seem like a software setup issue it appears to be a Motu support issue.
  17. It could be defective. Does Windows see the device? Can Windows play audio through it?
  18. Uninstall ASIO4All and install the M2 driver. https://motu.com/en-us/products/m-series/m2/getting-started/
  19. You may want to experiment with the ExceptionHandlingSeverity parameter added in 2021.04. See the Improved plug-in exception handling / crash reporting section in http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=NewFeatures.023.html
  20. VST reset is a scan. It clears the VST inventory in registry then executes a scan. There is no reason to perform another scan immediately after running reset.
