Missing ProChannel menu option for individual PC Modules
scook replied to Mánibranðr Studios's question in Q&A
Possibly a scanning issue. PC modules are based on VST2 and must be scanned in order to show up in the menu. The path to the PC Modules is stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST\VSTInternalPath By default, CbB installs PC modules in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal which is used as the key and data stored in the registry. Aside from the registry, the only place this path is visible is in the scan options displayed in the Plug-in Manager. This path is not shown in preferences but is one of the paths used by the scanner. Do NOT add the path to the scan paths in preferences. Verify the PC module path is in the registry Run a vst reset from preferences make sure "Scan in Sandbox" and "Generate Scan Log" are checked. Review the log. It should be pretty easy to see if the PC modules are getting scanned and if the scan runs to completion. -
While the company that made SONAR Home Studio is no more, the people at BandLab have been very accommodating. Their support email is support@cakewalk.com. You may want to upgrade to Cakewalk By BandLab which is fully supported. Use BandLab Assistant to upgrade. The instructions are here.

Make sure to run the DAW or stand alone DP as administrator to activate.

I am guessing this plug-in shows up as a synth, if so the process is described in this post The link also describes how to add effects that send MIDI data. Effects the read MIDI data need "Enable MIDI Input" checked in the VST2/3 drop down and a MIDI track with its output set to the plug-in (along with input set to yout controller and input echo enabled to use a controller interactively).

In order to upgrade one must already have a license for Melodyne. The feature matrix for Melodyne is here
-
CbB includes a time limited trial version of Melodyne. Celemony requires users to create an account on their site and register Melodyne to activate the trial period.

The files should be available for download from your old Cakewalk account If you used Cakewalk Command Center chances are the installers are on your PC. By default the installers were stored in "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads"

I believe you have partially answered your own question. Some rely on older 32bit only plug-ins. The bridge also aids in transitioning from 32bit DAWs and older projects where 32bit only plug-ins were used.

With take lanes open try "Flatten Comp" from the parent track context menu

Sounds like the VS700 is setup to call Paste Special. Can't you configure the button to call the regular paste function?

When using Melodyne as a Region FX, the clip should be rendered using the "Render FX Region" option under Melodyne in the Region FX menu either from the track view or clip context menu.

The dev seems pretty responsive. I found a problem yesterday and posted about it on the KVR thread, Today the dev fixed the issue and posted links to new releases.

VST scan doesnt find STL Tonality plug in
scook replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Instruments & Effects
Glad you got it working. Most manufacturers add tags to their VST3 plug-ins which CbB uses to categorize plug-ins. When "Sort by Category" was added to SONAR, Cakewalk added a bunch of VST2 and DX plug-ins to the category database. Plug-ins not found in the category database are added to the Uncategorized folder. The plug-in category is maintained in the browser. The help about category maintenance starts here. -
VST scan doesnt find STL Tonality plug in
scook replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Instruments & Effects
The plug-in is shown in VST3 effects. Adding it to a project is the same as TH3 or TH-U which are also ampsim plug-ins. Here is the help page for adding plug-in effects to projects. In addition to the method described in the help, effects plug-ins may be dragged from the browser into the FX Rack or ProChannel. -
VST scan doesnt find STL Tonality plug in
scook replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Instruments & Effects
The plug-in is not a synth, it is an effect plug-in so it will be in the effect lists. It does not make sound on its own, it is a guitar ampsim/effects package. Make sure to use one of the factory supplied "Sort By" lists or add the plug-in to the custom layout. If using "Sort By Category" the plug-in may be in the Uncategorized folder. -
Or let Melda install the VST2 plug-ins into paths not scanned by CbB. From there it is easy to either leave them on disk or delete the unwanted files. This is how I handle manufacturers who supply decent VST3 plug-ins but still want the VST2 plug-ins for hosts that either do not support VST3 or are 32bit.
-
All the plug-ins bundled with CbB are 64bit. When it comes to DX plug-ins, they are host bitness specific. IOW, 32bit DX plug-ins only run in a 32bit DAW, 64bit DX plug-ins only run in a 64bit DAW.

VST scan doesnt find STL Tonality plug in
scook replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Instruments & Effects
I do not have the plug-in and have not created an account to download the trial. I found this in their FAQ My guess is since the iLok Manager was not running when the scanner tried to load the plug-in, it was placed in the excluded list. Once excluded a plug-in is unavailable. To complete the scan for this plug-in, open preferences, temporarily set the scanner to manual scan, enable Rescan Failed Plugins and run a scan. Once the scan is complete uncheck Rescan Failed Plugins and set the scan option back to your preferred setting. -
