If the options are disabled, it means there are existing registry entries possibly from a previous SONAR installation. All Cakewalk DAWs use the same shared folders and Cakewalk Content folder.
-
Sometimes Cakewalk gets beat detection wrong. As you have already found out, it is easy to fix in the Loop Construction View or the Groove Clip section in the Clip Inspector..

This forum is new. The old forum contains a lot of valuable info.

See if Zero Controllers When Play Stops is enabled. If not, enable it. This might help with stuck notes. This is per-project setting so make sure the project template has the option enabled and any new projects will have the setting.

TTS-1 is a pretty old synth. The 64bit version has a few issues, the code was machine generated by Roland. For me, it is most useful for playing existing MIDI files. As long as there is no MIDI device selected in preferences, opening a MIDI files causes Cakewalk to automatically add and setup TTS-1 to play the file.

The partial personalization is harmless. It does not overwrite anything just restores missing files. The full personalization (CTRL key while opening CbB), on the other hand, overwrites files in user directory and restores some registry entries.
-
This is not safe mode, this is a partial personalization. What this will do is restore any files that are missing from the user directory. Safe mode is invoked when holding down the SHIFT key while opening a project.

Have you tried different synths?
-
Not sure what the object of the exercise is but it seems like something that may be easier to do using a modular synth - maybe something like VeeSeeVST There is a more recent version linked near the bottom of the kvr thread or get it directly from the github page.

if there is a lens in use try setting the lens drop down to none -
REmatrix Solo is a PC module so it should be in the PC module menu.

If the clips have rounded edges like the clips in SI-Drums, click-drag the edge of the clip to roll out copies of the loop. To make loops out of regular MIDI clips, select the clip and type CTRL+L Here is more info on groove clips.

Strange bug with tracks pseudo disappearing

The behavior may be specific to Cakewalk but that is no guarantee it is a Cakewalk bug. -
Loop function does not loop an audio Track but changes it to half tempo

For future reference, the links I provide may be changed to German by changing the language in the URL from 3 to 1 like this http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Views.43.html http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=1&help=Views.43.html -

I have no experience with the PG-8X. If you did not get the plug-in from the developer's site, may want to verify you have the current release. Could let the developer know about the issue too. -

May be plug-in related. Try opening the project in safe mode (hold the SHIFT key while opening the project). Safe mode has the ability to skip loading plug-ins. Might take a few tries to figure out which plug-ins if any are the problem. -
Yeah, when using the same audio device for Windows and CbB it is a good idea to set both Windows and CbB to the same sample rate.
-
That and disabling "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" in preferences are good ideas. The combination has caused unexpected playback for some users.

Loop function does not loop an audio Track but changes it to half tempo
scook replied to schnibbelkram's question in Q&A
Regular audio files do not contain BPM information so this does not matter. Part of the process for creating a groove clip requires the DAW to read the wav and assign a beat count to it. Adjusting the number of beats as described above does not change the loop? -
Usually duplicates from double pasting a clip will show up in different take lanes. Alternately, the event list view may handy for inspecting MIDI data. If this is a MIDI data problem. Copy/paste does not change the data in the clip.
-
The closest thing to data view provided in the OP is the Event List View

Before spending a dime check out the free world. You did not mention if you tried the other two reverbs. To supplement the plug-ins bundled with CbB pick up the MFreeFXBundle. As the name implies, it is free although, there is a licensed version which is a good value when it is on sale. It includes MConvolutionEZ with a bunch of IR files. you may find something in it that you like. While CbB includes REmatrix Solo, it is a pain to load 3rd party IR files into it. There are quite a few free IR collections on the net and a tool like MConvoluionEZ is a lot easier to add file to than REmatrix Solo.

There are a variety of ways to enter MIDI data. Many use a real MIDI keyboard but CbB has a virtual controller which uses the PC keyboard or touch screen. Most virtual instruments work the same and Studio Instruments are no exception. Add the instrument to a project Set the input to your controller, enabled the record and input echo buttons on the track Play a few notes on the controller to confirm the synth makes sound (some load a default preset, some require the user to load a preset). Try different presets. Start record in the transport. Cakewalk will start recording the MIDI data from the controller. Stop the transport and turn of the record and input echo buttons. Without a real controller, it may be easier to enter MIDI data using a different method. Either by step recording or one of the other views: the step sequencer, piano roll view and staff view. Or use existing MIDI loops. The Studio instruments include MIDI loops. Instead of loading the MIDI loops in the pattern grid pads, drag them to the track. It is possible to play the MIDI loops in the pattern grid using controller to send MIDI notes 7 through 11. This is in the documentation for the plug-in in the "Using the MIDI Patterns" section. To open the help, hit the F1 key when the plug-in UI has focus. May want to check out the videos in the tutorial section of this forum too.

Sounds like a sample rate problem. Verify the audio interface and the project are set to the same sample rate.
