Common problems when using the internal PC chip are running Windows and CbB at different sample rates (audio devices run at one sample rate at a time) using the Realtek ASIO driver (bad driver) using small buffer setting (trying to achieve low latency a small buffer setting may cause distortion) If the Realtek ASIO driver is installed adding ASIO4All can be a problem because there are 2 ASIO "drivers" installed for the same device. If both are installed consider removing one or both of them. When running Win10 try using the WASAPI driver modes.

How to make downloaded instruments available in Cakewalk?
scook replied to Сергей Репков's topic in Instruments & Effects
Paths should be unique. In the image below, c:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins\cakewalk sound center is redundant and should be removed. The plug-ins in that path get scanned as a result of c:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins being in the scan path. -
Need to make the track headers a little wider in the track view to account for the new WAI display.

All tracks/buses will be aligned because they will be padded with silence starting at 0. If you prefer you can export broadcast wav clips but full tracks/buses may be easier to work with.

The last reference to a mono delay was in X2. Here are the plug-ins included with CbB.

By default project templates are installed in C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Project Templates The template path used by the program is setup in preferences. -
The bundled Sonitus Compressor and Gate also have sidechain inputs.

Make sure CbB is not running WASAPI Exclusive driver mode and the sample rate is the same as Windows.

Is the device in Control Surfaces? If so, all the MIDI data may be going there instead of to the tracks.

I found this free software for creating backing tracks.

LoopBe1 gives you up to 16 channels of MIDI data coming out of JJazzLab or ChordPulse directly into CbB allowing you to make instrument assignments in CbB using regular synth plug-ins. Once setup, CbB can record the MIDI in real time or just use it as a sound source while composing in JJazzLab or ChordPulse then export the a MIDI file to use in CbB. -
If deleting everything to the right of the "end" of the project does not fix it, it may be a problem with the project template. This has been reported once before, rebuilding the template seemed to be the only solution.

Use the Add Track menu. For some reason it never enables the option. To me it's a bug but it is also an expedient way to always have this feature disabled on synth insert.

Remember tools like this do not lock you into their sounds. They can send MIDI directly to your DAW using a virtual MIDI cable such as LoopBe1. -
Might be too low a buffer setting in preferences.

With SONAR X3 and older, any plug-ins bundled with 64bit SONAR may be added by running an Advanced install of a SONAR version containing the plug-ins and selecting them from the advanced install pick list. Newer versions of 64bit SONAR did not offer an advanced install option. Instead the plug-ins were either part of the core installer or bundled in separate installers. In this case, plug-ins not part of the core installer may be installed at any time by running the appropriate installer. If a plug-in is part of the core installer, it will be necessary to re-install CbB after running the SONAR installer. Keep in mind old DX plug-ins that were not ported to 64bit will not run in CbB.
