  1. Yeah, this is not validated by the scanner, for example the Dimension Pro VST shows "Enable MIDI Output" is selected by default but the plug-in does not send data, never has.
  2. I suspect most VST MIDI FX plug-ins such as those from Code FN42 will pass through MIDI data Recently, I have tested NoteMapper and VeloScaler.
  3. When using multiple synths this is the way to go, one master with all the other synths being driven from it. There is no need to cascade synths unless one of the synths after the MSF is modifying the data for the rest.
  4. Works for me. I have "MIDI Thru" enabled in MSF Settings Surge input set to MSF Omni w/ input echo enabled.
  5. To save typing - With the SI-Drums Kit UI open and in focus click the F1 key This should open the SI-Drum Kit help. Read the section in the help on "Using the MIDI Patterns"
  6. Specifics are helpful such as VST plug-in names. Some plug-ins need to be configured in their UI to send MIDI data. Some do not. No requirement for SITs. But the plug-in generating the MIDI data must have a complete routing even if it does not produce audio. This means either a SIT or MIDI+audio pair.
  7. I am guessing this plug-in shows up as a synth so follow option #1 in this thread Add a synth plug-in (with the appropriate track(s)) to the project to play the data coming from the sequencer.
  8. There may be a problem with one of the plug-ins. Safe-mode has an option to skip plug-ins. Holding down the SHIFT key while opening a project invokes safe-mode.
  9. Depends on the synth. What synth is receiving the MIDI data?
  10. It is something that would need to be stored in templates if the request ever materialized. The request itself seems like a quick hit extending "set modules as default default" with flags stored in bus and track folders in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Core\DefaultPCModules
  11. Might as well add CbB to the mix. Then at least you will have a supported DAW. WRT M1, I tested it in 64bit X3e Producer, SONAR Platinum 2017.10 and CbB 2020.08 on Win10 Home v1909. It loaded and played OK. I am using M1 v1.8.4 from Korg Collection 2 If you are using an older version of M1 consider getting the free update. The new UIs are worth the trouble. Here is a thread about it
  12. Maybe a very old version. AFAIK, recent versions do not accept a wav file on the command line. This is a requirement to pass an audio clip between Cakewalk and another program. Wavelab should work fine. Any program that accepts a wav file on its command line may be called using this method. It is also possible to add practically anything else to the tools section of the Utilities menu such as the "User Reference Guide" or any pdf. Documents will open based on their Windows association.
  13. Can't change how ASIO works but the other driver modes do not have the driver limitation. If the amp has a line out that may be a better option.
  14. This is a limitation imposed by the ASIO specification NOT the DAW. A host may use one ASIO driver at a time. To change ASIO drivers in CbB both Audio input and output device options must be deselected before selecting a different driver.
  15. I have not had to petition Eventide for a new activation but have found their support pretty responsive.
  16. I like the H910. Occasionally use the H3000, Quadravox and Octavox (along with the H910 all are algos from the HW version of the H3000. I let the smoke out of my H3000 a few years ago so its nice to have the software versions). Instant Flanger and Instant Phaser get some use too. @Craig Andertondid a review a while back https://www.harmonycentral.com/forums/topic/1907695-eventide-anthology-x-effects-plug-in-suite/
  17. No weasel-speak in their install instructions https://www.eventideaudio.com/support/downloads/installing-and-authorizing-plug-ins Step 3 is pretty clear ALL Eventide plug-ins use iLok Dongle is optional

    Automating Audio Pitch

That is an interesting one, it uses MIDI to manipulate pitch. I have not been keeping up with this stuff, it appears zPlane has a product similar to Pitchmap called reTune. I have not played with it. Depends on the effect one is trying to achieve. The pitch parameter in zPlane's Elastique Pitch 2 may be automated with an envelope or MIDI but it is not free either. MAutopitch is part of the MFreeFXBundle. MIDI may be used to automate pitch change.
  19. If the files are copy protected, they cannot be imported. If the files are on a device that cannot be written to, the import will fail. Try copying the file(s) into the Cakewalk audio folder or some other area where Cakewalk has write permission.
  20. The only time I know of when Cakewalk sfz engine synths go silent is when unexpected data from 3rd party MIDI files gets processed by the synths. All the Cakewalk sfz engine synths react the same and need the same fix
  21. Nothing since Jan 2020. According to https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/18450-why-isnt-cakewalk-open-source/&tab=comments#comment-156127 SOS dropped the column.
  22. Yeah, try to keep the scan path as small as possible. Strange things can happen if the scanner opens dlls that are not VST plug-ins.
