  1. Oh, didn't see that. Thanks for the spoon feeding!
  2. This one I do This one I do get to see. How strange that they'd do something like this. So tell me, if I bite and pay the $49, what happens at the end of the year. Do I still get to use Sonar Premium?
  3. Love this Wookie, makes we want to listen to Meddle from end to end. Timbo
  4. I own Sonar Home Studio 2004 and Sonar 8, if that counts for anything.
  5. That didn't work for me.
  6. I wonder why I don't get the discount.
  7. Thanks Jonathan! I'm so glad that you've offered this to us. Timbo
  8. Bristol_Jonesey, I'm from Missouri. You have to show me. Actually Mississauga, but it's spelled similarly. Just kidding. The question that I forgot to ask was are the projects backwardly compatible, i.e. CbB project, saved in Sonar, will it open in CbB again? Let's just say I was burned in 2018 and don't know what to believe with this generous, free offer. Timbo
  9. Does this free version work side by side with CbB, as in will it break CbB? Thanks, Timbo
  10. Thanks. Here comes the thick part, if the MIDI data is daisy chained, how does the DAW know which device is sending what?
  11. I know this is a necro post, but looking at the 4*4 for example, I thought there would be a connection on the back where you would run cables to your interface. Are the 4*4 and 8*8 daisy chainers or am I completely missing the boat here. Thick Timbo
  12. I went to the "12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz" with 32 gigs of RAM and SSDs last year or so and couldn't believe the difference. I can load a zillion synths and effects without a hitch. There is an upper limit though, where things start to stutter but I can load way more software than I used to before this happens. I find the newer software is more graphics intensive (Ozone 9). The onboard Intel graphics suits my needs but you may need a dedicated graphics card, but good ones are expensive. I did a lot of research before my last build, including posting at tomshardware and although they don't know DAWs, they know enough to help. In fact they talked me out of the i9 to the i7. I suppose it's up to how much of a risk you want to take with the ultra chips. Hope this helps! Timbo
  13. I messaged him using the internal system but I can't find an actual email address.
  14. I haven't seen a post or heard a song from him in awhile, hope he's okay.

    Crazy Fool

Nice to hear from you Daryl! Love "you put the fun in dysfunctional", great lyric! Excellent mix, kick and bass done well, snare's got some oomph, funky rhythm guitar could come up a bit. Thanks for sharing, Timbo
  16. Thanks you two! Believe it or not, I worked with ChatGPT on an early and incomplete version of the story and lyrics. It suggested I try something different from the usual "trade your soul in a deal with the devil" trope. I didn't use it to write any of the lyrics, they just kind of came to me, but for lasering in on the story line. The only "lyric" that I did let it write was to name the fish Gilligan. Timbo

    On The House

Had a bit of fun with this song where the devil bargains with a young man who has an unusual request. Sorry about the lead guitar, my fingers are getting old and fumbly. And it's me on the rest of the synths and bass. There are some swear words, so beware. i waited for the father at the backdoor to the club five knuckle shuffle in my future, time for some Brandi Love red eyeball swimmin in the peephole, like somethin from another song door opened and there he stood in his technicolour raincoat flashing me with a great big smile he stood there flashing me he glowed like a big *****in meteor, the heat was stingin my eyes smelled like some kinda Mount Vesuvius in his chintzy Halloween disguise his voice boomed like the mother of all bombs, his hooves tap tap tapping on the floor he said, folks call me Satan round here, what the hell can i do for you boy (for you, son) what can i do for you boy didn't know if i should sit on his lap but i threw caution to the wind listened politely to my request gave me a two fingered salute full of sin (as above, so below) forked tongue licked jagger lips and he brought life back into my dead fish in the matter of payment, he laughed, i think this one's yeah this one's on the house yeah this one's on the house when i snuck back into my bedroom, i dropped Gilligan into his tank the water boiled like chemistry class and his little friends slowly sank thoughts of Brandi Love disappeared, and i swear i heard the devil laugh in the matter of payment, he chuckled, yeah this one, this one's in the tank yeah this one's in the tank

    1975

Another great song! I always hear a touch of Zappa when you play your sweet, sweet music.
  19. Lordy you're some kind of player! Love the lyrics: "singing with the coyotes, running neath the stars at night" ... just wow. Thanks for this song Mark. Timbo

    Bridges

I like the song, Keith. Lyrically, it has the feel of "This One Goes Out To the One I Love", but is very much different. Great singing, can you tell us what you did to reprocess a 40 year old vocal? Did you have to do any pitch correction or do you sing pretty well in tune, like it sounds? The drums sound great, as does the lead guitar. Maybe the snare could cut through a touch more. IMO the mix is a bit dry in the reverb department and the bass needs to be moved back, while the rhythm guitar can come forward. As for the lyrics, well done. I liked "I'll build a wall around your brain"! Thanks for sharing, Timbo
