Thanks for the research. Definitely looks shady.

How so? They are listed on Microsoft's site as a Microsoft partner: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-US/marketplace/partner-dir/7a227462-c05c-43cb-b265-4b2331884775/overview

Trying to get people to dial some sort of support phone number for numerous products including Mozilla and AVG. It was the same phone number for all products. The actual text did not make a whole lot of sense to me.

? Secret sale: only 24 hours, SongKey MK4 90% off
Doug Rintoul replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
You know you can get your money back...so not stealing! Demo We decided to not provide a demo for SongKey MK4 because we don’t want to to cripple our product too much and limiting the capability of this plugin for a demo would mean to provide a bad testing experience. For this reason we offer an instantaneous full refund within 15 days of your purchase if you buy SongKey MK4 and you don’t like it. -
Demucs works great and is free. https://github.com/facebookresearch/demucs There is GUI at https://github.com/CarlGao4/Demucs-Gui/releases

Culling my plugins ... pruning subs and direct debits .. it adds up
Doug Rintoul replied to aidan o driscoll's topic in Deals
Counterpoint...there is no guarentee that subscription service software will not become abandonware either. I don't know if it is less likely, or not. I also can't help that feel that you would still need to keep the legacy system running because the current versions of the plugins/software no longer work with the old projects. But as you pointed out, subs do make sense from a business perspective. -
I think the MGuitarArchitect release was a bit premature. The potential is there but this initial offering is a bit disappointing. However, being Melda, I am sure it will mature into a powerhouse guitar effect.

That first video is from 14 years ago. I wonder if there have been any improvements or development on RG since then. Or was it perfect when it was released? Still trying to decide if it adds anything to what I already have. I am not taken by the sound of RG but if the sequencer is unique, it might be useful to feed it through of the number of guitar effects I own.

I am not seeing 50% off everything.

It is. The videos on the page confirm it.

Mandolin? I thought this was a Ukulele. Maybe that is why you were disappointed.

HorNET? Secret sale: Complete bundle 40%+40% off
Doug Rintoul replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Waiting for a sale is one thing it looks like you never need to do with Hornet, they happen so often. Don't get me wrong. I like hornet plugins and own a number of them. I just don't find the bundle all that attractive even at 40%+40% off, especially when I can pick and choose individual plugins at 80-90% off. -
HorNET? Secret sale: Complete bundle 40%+40% off
Doug Rintoul replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Not much of a deal, actually. That only computes to 64% off. Unless I am missing something, you can do better buying individual plugins at 80-90% off. -
Good to know. I was worried.

So has anyone tried this yet? I am wondering how it compares to something like the Ethera series.

HorNET ? End of Summer Sale: Up to 75% off Plugins & 30% off Bundles!
Doug Rintoul replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
This is what I got from Hornet in the last few day: Pretty much an email a day. They do make decent plugins though and update regularly. Some people really like them. -
HorNET ? End of Summer Sale: Up to 75% off Plugins & 30% off Bundles!
Doug Rintoul replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Umm. No. Single plugins are 75% off. Bundles are 30% off. The discounts don't combine because they are for different things. -
Thenatan EVERYTHING IS NOW $5 ? 72 Hours Only?
Doug Rintoul replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I wouldn't hold my breath. Thenatan has a history of releasing and then abandoning plugins. -
This is one developer I avoid like the plague. Their offerings are the very definition of bloatware.

@kitekrazyThis one is for you. 300 GB of content!!!
