In fairness, the real thing is probably priceless. So comparatively speaking this would be quite the deal.... It is also available as part of the Cremona quartet which goes for four hundred bucks.

$149! And that's on sale. ?

Question about Starting Up Cakewalk

Gotcha. No worries. One of the biggest drawbacks to the internet is missing all those subtle cues you get face to face.... -
Question about Starting Up Cakewalk
Byron Dickens replied to Jerry Gerber's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Really? You actually timed it? In all actuality, probably nowhere near as much as if you chilled out a bit and quit counting every second. That's quite an impressive output. I can't see how having to wait a few seconds now and then has hurt you. Good for you. Meditation isn't supposed to be a contest, however. Sorry if I offended you, but I spent too much time in some of my former jobs with a clock held up to me like it was a gun to my head by office bound jackwagons with no clue about the realities of things on the shop floor that I have a strongly negative reaction to anything remotely resembling that kind of stopwatch clicking mentality. A minute or so would definitely be excessive but I think 16 seconds is barely noticeable. -
Question about Starting Up Cakewalk
Byron Dickens replied to Jerry Gerber's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Sixteen WHOLE SECONDS? Not to be an *****, but the only idea I have is to develop just a wee bit of patience. -
Hmmmm... Right now, I have a project in the works with 5 or 6 instances of Voltage Modular and my computer doesn't seem to be breaking a sweat.

I gotta disagree somewhat about the cables. A good guitar cable is not that expensive and will save endless headaches. The overpriced snake oil ones are a waste of money for anyone.

FREE Mixbus Training + Multi-tracks with Purchase
Byron Dickens replied to FranciscoJ's topic in Deals
32c has 12 busses. Regular Mixbus has 8. But yeah, I track and edit in CbB, export all the individual tracks and mix in Mixbus. Probably when the next version comes out and the upgrade goes on sale for dirt cheap I will move up to 32c for that full EQ section.... -

Dated? Yeah, I guess, since orchestral instruments have been largely unchanged for over 100 years.... -
Trouble when double-clicking CWP file

You could have a corrupted installation or have missing or damaged Microsoft runtime libraries. -
Trouble when double-clicking CWP file
Byron Dickens replied to billwright2's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
There's nothing wrong with CbB. Its something in your system. Money isn't going to fix this, logical troubleshooting is. Nobody else seems to be having this issue. -
The Pro Fools crowd don't mind overpaying....

FREE Mixbus Training + Multi-tracks with Purchase
Byron Dickens replied to FranciscoJ's topic in Deals
Two things: 1) Like I mentioned before, the whole DAW is one giant Harrison channel strip. 2) What some people see as limitations (fixed number of busses, etc) actually force you to streamline your mixing workflow and make it more efficient. -
A real treasure arrived on my doorstep today…

You always have to do quite a bit of editing with this kind of thing. -
Spitfire Abby Road One crashes Cakewalk
Byron Dickens replied to Dave Maffris's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I have had trouble with Spitfire and IK VST3s, but the VST2 versions work just fine. -
FREE Mixbus Training + Multi-tracks with Purchase
Byron Dickens replied to FranciscoJ's topic in Deals
Keep in mind that Mixbus is based on the paradigm of recording and mixing onto tape through an analog console and designed to replicate that experience to some extent. Perhaps the greatest thing about it is that you can complete an entire mix with no plugins whatsoever. The whole DAW is one giant Harrison channel strip. If you feel the need to time align and pitch correct everything to an unreasonable and unrealistic level of perfection, its probably not for you. If you are "making beats" (whatever that is, exactly) , its probably not for you. If you are doing extensive MIDI editing, its definitely not for you. -
