  1. Because 11 is one more!
  2. Not free, but worth the money. Not expensive, either. https://beatmachine.co.uk/index.html I got their Korg DW 8000 b/c my brother used to have a DW 6000 way back when. The 8000 is the big sibling. https://www.beatskillz.com/ https://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/ The owner was actually part of the development team for much of the original E-mu sound libraries. You're gonna need an Emax/ Emulator/ Emulator Ii! They saved my a** when my Proteus FX died. The Proteus 1/ 2 sounds are not identical but some are pretty close. And don't forget DEXED https://dexedsynth.com/ This one IS free, and one of the best DX7 emulations out there. The Cherry Audio stuff is very good and inexpensive. Well worth it.
  3. It looks like the OP is gone. Hasn't been back since starting this thread.
  4. Practice only costs some time & effort....
  5. Probably several kilobytes worth! ? I'll bet there's way more bloatware on the machine that can be dumped
  6. PG-8X seems to work just fine here. I loaded it up yesterday and cycled through a bunch of presets. Left it open all night and came back to it this morning and it is still working. Perhaps the dll is corrupted somehow? Another possibility is: I have had trouble with a couple of different things downloaded from one or another of those " free VST" sites that worked just fine when downloaded from the developer's own site.
  7. Please start your own thread. Hanging your completely unrelated topic onto another thread causes confusion.
  8. It's not Cakewalk. It's obsolete, no-longer-supported plugins and/ or user error. It all works just fine for me.
  9. I use HalionSonic SE quite successfully in CbB with the HaLion Symphonic Orchestra and a couple of other things.
  10. I don't believe that it's possible to transmit midi events via bluetooth. Even if you could, it wouldn't be a good idea because Bluetooth is buggy, unreliable, and has a lot of latency. Just use wired connections and be done with it.
  11. BSOD is typically a hardware problem, not a software one.
  12. But that's how you have to do it. Why are you so adamant about this anyway? Are you trying to conserve valuable, expensive parchment and ink?
  13. Why on earth would you want to do that?
  14. Cakewalk and other DAWs are really intended as a multi track recording tool more so than a live performance tool.
  15. No. CbB is SPLAT with about three years worth of updates and improvements.
  16. Playing vintage instruments and recording actual performances.
