So after all this-It seems, for the most part anyway-Rapture Pro needed to be Run as Admin as stated by Bristol and Wookie. So Rapture Pro works fine. dim Pro still does NOT work but Rapture Pro easily covers what I needed- Thanks very much folks! Great forum! Has been great for many decades-well, you know what I mean.

First we heard that the logistics for retail boxes, etc, etc, were the reason for the delay in a license. It goes on and on. I dare not say anymore. But as John V. explained in a video post it "SEEMS" the language on the Bandlab website says cwbl will continue and even have maintenance updates now and them so for now, for me, this will do. Do I want a sonar License for the New sonar-definitely yes, but I am content with CWBL staying alive................ With CWBL still alive for the foreseeable future my paid Reaper 7.xx and Studio One ( I think I have a lesser version, but not a trial) will just have to wait-hopefully forever for me ?
-
Thanks-Yes I have tons of space... I'll try launching both as admin also
-
That is where I did the re install from, but like I said above I thinkCW is confused. I don't mind re installing CW. The only plug I use from CW is TTS-1, which Plat installs. I have all my CW disks going back to CWPA 9- I upgraded every year until. I have all the sonarsx1,x2, etc and of course Plat.

Appreciate it Tom. But I have tried everything else suggested on this forum for quite a while. In another post I mentioned that I have a dedicated samples drive and just did a clean install of Win 10x64 Pro ( I have win 11 but like win 10) Anyway, way back when, 2021 I think I also did a new install (built a new PC, same as this time) and used mlink to move c W Content and other folders to the sample drive. Pretty sure the paths are all messed up. CW works fine ans so do ALL my other VSTS. Dim Pro not so much, maybe a handful of sounds. I also installed Rapture Pro. Figured why not try. anyway, none of them work. I searched the register and the paths seem fine including in CW prefs???? So, I think CW is just as confused as I am ?
-
So still wanting Dim Pro. If I uninstall CWBL, Dim Pro and anything else CW this will not affect anything else will it? I mean like my zillion VSTS (non-CW) Just want to be sure, I figure it doesn't, but!

Glad you got it solved. didn't mean to hijack your post...............

Weird error message when launching CWBL? SOLVED....
Pathfinder replied to Pathfinder's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Duh! I had turned off the VST scan display when launching a while back. I turned it back on and the scan was stuck on the plugin causing the error message-Izotope RX10 Breath control-which I have never used. I removed it and all is well. Edit: Just an FYI: I do OWN RX10 legally, guess if i want to use it I need to re install it-Thing is, it gets installed thru the Izotope Product portal- 1 reply

Weird error message when launching CWBL? SOLVED....
Pathfinder posted a topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Neve seen this message but it happens when launching the CWBL. NO projects, just the program. But the error message gives me no hints? -
For clarity: from years ago and and 2 PCS ago I have a CW content folder on my sample drive. The screenshot show the content of the folder. i don't use it but I guess i should just delete it and re install CWBL and Sonar Plat- I like having Plat installed also. I haven't directed anything to the sample drive as far as CW goes but maybe its happening anyway. I know dives are huge now but I have so many LARGE samples (scarbee basses-all of them, toontrack-all of them, etc, etc, et, that I really do need (want?) the sample drive. Where should the Cakewalk Content folder be? or should it be at all anymore?
-
Yes and I also tried all the things you and others have mentioned in other threads. See my reply to John V above. and Thanks!

I installed rapture session and rapture pro (the paid version) Neither one works for me. I have re installed many times and the only things I can think of are: 1- I use a separate sample drive and 2- I have CW content on the sample drive also. I probably should start over with CWBL install and not move anything until things work correctly. I am pretty sure it has to do with the paths between the programs, sfz's and the samples.

Not meaning to grab the ops post but after months of trying every suggestion I just cannot get Dim Pro to work correctly. A few of the sounds work, 99% do not. I have given up at this point.

Well, it stops me-So? I don't think ANYONE has been MORE vocal than I have been..............too much! Will it be forever? who knows-But I won't be forever either.....Come on man-Give folks a little credit!

I also have had arthritis all my life-Started with Psoriatic Arthritis and graduated to Osteoarthritis. The only thing that helps me is to keep playing. I was told by an arthritis doc decades ago that playing the guitar is what has kept my fingers from getting worse. My index finger on my chording hand is permanently bent and has been for many years. I have adapted my playing over the years to fit my hands. It works. I am very glad to hear that CWBL will continue. I will say Thank You to those that made this possible.........

Never mind- no point! Regards Frank -
Craig-OK they are not all millionaires. I don't see what that has to do with either letting us purchase a license or just tell us we can't? I don't understand why you and others seek to rationalize this situation? Just tell me I will NOT be able to purchase a license in the foreseeable future because as of right now we have no plans to sell licenses. Simple, all this back and forth goes away and folks like me will do whatever we need to do- instead of hanging around hoping that the product we WANT will be available to purchase. On another forum, I was slammed when I defended CWBL-Why? Because others suggested it was free so folks got comfortable with it, use to it, used it everyday, etc and then their would be a price. As stated many times by many others besides myself-no one is asking for it to be free-just not all SUBSCRIPTIONS. Guess it's time I woke up myself and just moved on to another daw. I will from this point forward. I will continue to use CWBL as long as I am permitted but at the same time will be learning another daw so I can finally make the transition complete. I also am so tired of hearing "it was free for xxx amount of years". Who cares? I never asked for free. I have no doubt most long time CW users like myself also never asked for free. we would have paid-no problem. I will end here and not participate in discussions about this BS again.................SAD!

So the guy that owns Bandlab is NOT really a multi-Billionaire? In response to no luxury cars in the parking lot?

I will try the suggestion 1-4. I know I can disable Bit defender, I don't like to do that. Hopefully your process will work Thanks very Much!
-
DP works fine-long ago I had the expansion packs . Not essential but some were nice. I am sure Bit Defender gives false positives like many others but, as stated,1-3 expansion packs would have been nice , not worth the trouble. Shouldn't it be a zip file, or an exe? Why htm file? oh well-no biggie.
-
Appreciate the replies but Bit Defender, which I have been using for over 2 decades. will NOT let me bypass the warning. In the past, I was always able to bypass it by selecting the option about i understand, blah, blah, blah. The HTM as mentioned by Glenn S. bothers me also. I have decided it's not that important-sad really.

So found a thread on forum that led me to the CW download for all my products (NOT the CCC). Installed Dim Pro 1.5 over the one that I installed from CCC. Then I attempted to install the 1-3 Dim Pro expansion packs and I get this from newest up to date Bit defender Total Security: Web Protection by Bitdefender Dangerous page blocked for your protection file:///S:/___Dimension%20Pro%201.5%20with%20exp%20packs/Dimension_Pro_Free_Expansion_Packs_1-3.zip.htm Dangerous pages attempt to install software that can harm the device, gather personal information or operate without your consent. I know sometimes we get false warnings but wanted to check with you folks first. I never found a link before to Dim Pro 1.5, before this. Reason O I am re -installing is Dim Pro just never worked consistently for me over the last few years. Thanks BTW, this the website that I got from the thread. Seemed legit to me? https://legacy.cakewalk.com/My-Account/Products

New Sonar pricing: how about a Senior discount price?
Pathfinder replied to Larry T.'s topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
True!
