I agree but definitely, MANY of US are NOT buying subscriptions we are using CWbyBL...I can say right here and now I will NEVER buy a subscription. I have had reaper for many years and also own a version of Studio One. I also think they are making a huge mistake. I am ready to buy Sonar right now. I'll deal with upgrades and paying for updates when u it happens. Sadly for me and I know many others I also started in rh very early 90's with CW. It's like an old friend.

I asked a simple question. It was answered by 2 people at the very beginning. Yet I have justify WHY I wanted to know this? I am unfollowing this thread now and thanks to the folks that actually simply answered my question. It's appreciated!

I do NOT use any hardware input devices. I was only asking if I could somehow view what midi channels that are being used in a project. i understand I cannot- That is ALL I was asking. I got my answer at the very beginning. Thanks

Hello David, I have been plyinguitar for appx 55 years. I played as a single, with backing tracks throughout those 55 years when ever I wasn't in a a trio, duo or full band. Anyway I have a zillion, well a lot of midi sequences, many downloaded from various sites over the the years. Some of my own. I normally always have keyboard ch 1, bass ch 2, drums ch 10 and after that it whatever was already in the sequence that I decided to keep in . Normally I turned everything else off because It was my vocal and my guitars (acousti and\or electric. I am trying to update them all to the newer VSTS I have. Planned on doing some weddings and small one night gigs........... Hence, a view or app to see midi channels would speed up the process greatly.

I wish I could. I use some of the Cal scripts all the time, don't know how to write them though. Probably not important enough for others though. just my oldbad habits and how I work.

I have zero issues with the update and I do have many different types of apps, from Photoshop, to games, plus reaper, Sonar Platinum and Studio one. etc. and around 500 VSTS. No problems with CWbyBL...........At All!

Yes I have been doing that forever. Works fine. Although, as mentioned I am just not thrilled with the Focusrite 18i20 3rd Gen. Some respects it's overkill for me and on the other hand some shortcomings for me. Thanks

For now I am just sticking with what I have, the od Mackie 1202VLZ4. Pretty disappointed- I mean it really felt like a plastic toy besides no FX loop. I have no idea why I thought I needed built in FX. I am happy monitoring my vocals with the midiverb 4. I was always the lead singer\guitar player in all the bands I was in-trios and all. I had to have FX on my vocal monitor. I know many do not like that but I do. Always have. Always got my way also 🙂

Well guess what. Irec'd the ProFX10V3+ . I have already setup a return. It feels like a toy but main reason is NO FX LOOP. I understand that it has it's built in FX but never dawned on me that there still wouldn't be an FX loop. Just really felt like a lastic toy

Well for my needs, as stated, being serious, maybe I just have been lucky with mackie mixers bi ut I have always used them since I can remember. I don't mean in bands and things, I mean at home because it is the MAIN way I monitor when working in CW. I use my BT770's when recording audio but besides Vocals and guitars all I use are VSTS. So I i like to monitor that stuff in the room. More fun. This is only for me of course. So i bought the Mackie Pro10FXV3+ and i will arrive today. was using Mackie 1202VLZ4. It will go to my closet which is loaded with tons of audio and midi and guitar stuff. even still have my first modeler in there-Boss GX700, the one with the copper color face. Works too! I do wish I could go back to a setup like the Echo Layla3G-I loved that thing. Always connected. easy to use interface. I did use it for while with a PCI to PCI express adapter but moved on. I like the idea of a pci express card type AI that's alway connected. Anyway we'll see how the new makie goes. I didn't get i because of the FX-I have to so many VSTS it's caray-all the Izotopes, Fabfilter, great reverb. In my little 2nd bedroom I actually use and like (only for MONITORING VOCALS) my Alesis MidiVerb 4.

I have my Focusrite 18i20 3rd gen of course but I also 2 fractal audio interfaces with my FM3mkII Turbo and FM9,,,,,,,,I really need to try them out. Others on fractal seem to love them.

Many, many decades I have NEVER had an issue with mackie mixers, never owned their other stuff. Sorry that you did though!

Is that one of those MAckie Onyx mixers? I was looking at those today!

So far seems to be ok. I have an SM58b into Input 3 on Focusrite 18i20. I have Warm Audio Wa-47 into Input 4. They both record fine. Of course I keep 3 off while using 4 and visa versa. Cool! Thanks again!

Thanks Very much for the reply. I guess, as usual I am missing something. It seems if the driver for input 1& 2 is the same driver than they cannot REALLY be split into mono inputs. But my knowledge about this kind of stuff is limited. Guess I need to try and record into 1&2 and see if they really only record what is in INPUT 1 and then whatever is in Input 2?

Focusrite 18i20 3rd Gen... So with Focusrite change everything to mono. Expected to see 1&2, 3&4 etc, separated in the CW prefs? The screen shot hopefully will explain what I mean. Is this a CW issue or a focusrite issue? Nothing changed in CW? Still 1, 3,5, 7. etc? Or is this even possible? Would a different AI do this the way I want? Thanks

Well Bristol, I guess the point is: why the heck are people posting saying it doesn't bother them, blah, blah blah? Who cares. I didn't ask if it bothered them. It BOTHERS me and I asked a simple civil question to START-Check the Wookie killed OIRIGINAL POST I MADE...... That's all I did. So the BS in this thread and the other is all the clowns that had to post and tell me it doesn't bother them? That makes sense to you? That's children speaking- Or internet tough guys with their keyboards. The only post I should have seen was from wookie or another moderator simply saying it cannot be stopped or however they wish to say it. .PERIOD. Is that really that hard to grasp? I wouldn't be in the CWBL forum and I wouldn't be bothered by the sonar annoying sales bs if I had sonar subscription, which I NEVER WILL. But of course, I guess that's too obvious for the high and mighty folks on here to understand and it would have not allowed them to ridicule, which seems to be the cool thing to do on this forum.. If this is ranting it was easily avoiding by competent CW mods and others to answer the dam question. CW forums use to be so great, now we have all these high and mighty folks that must prove how cool they are. Sad................
