  1. We are all white belts. There are no masters. Well... Scook and bapu maybe.
  2. @Johnbee58 No sweat. I can see how the misunderstanding happened. I'd be glad to make you a video to show how you can use melodyne to inspect your own work. You can also adjust it, which i did to your vocal track. I then measured your bpm manually and fixed the clip to an exact length to fit 80 bpm. After pitch adjusting, i bounced the clip to commit the change. I then looped the clip and played with exciter, compression, side chained limiting, eq distortion... Etc. I was trying to make it awesome from my perspective and have enjoyed it over and over. I don't really think you have any problem or any reason to stop making amazing sounds. Keep rocking. ?
  3. @Johnbee58, I wasn't making a mockery of it, Just so you know. I was trying to do something cool with it. I grabbed. Analyzed it. Messed with it. My tastes may not be yours. I love making things sound edgy. I've actually listened repeatedly to your lyric and enjoyed it. Regarding folks talking about proximity effect etc, I don't see any low end at all. Your voice is very very different from mine. I did apply a little Melodyne and put you in the key of Ab. Idk what you were really doing. I made some pitch adjustments and then twice bounced while twiddling fx to get the result I did. Please don't be hurt. Be flattered I took the time, if anything. ? If you want me to give real advice, the first thing I'd say is lighten up. The second would be to feel it as you sing. Have fun. ? Don't sweat the small stuff and don't quit. I can't imagine why you'd quit.
  4. <I posted a link to a remix of the vocal but the OP thought it was abusive so I'm removing it.>
  5. idk if this helps, but you can always toggle waveform preview to make it disappear and re-enable. You'll lose the waveform history, but you'll be able to see the envelope, make changes and then renable waveform draw. Alternatively, Sometimes when I want to see the waveform for a track, I'll bounce to track and just look at the wave form there. ? Takes a couple of secs but not too long. Then mute the track and toggle waveform draw as necessary as you work on the envelope.
  6. I started on drums at 10 with lessons. I learned to count and read rhythms from sheet music which has been immensely helpful to me. I tried bass in middle school. Couldn't keep my spot in the band. Switched to guitar in 1988 when i went to the University of South Carolina. I've had one since.
  7. Does recording on your phone count ?
  8. I use it on a 15 year old laptop with 4 gb of ram for capturing live recordings. At home i use a desktop built by purrfect audio. https://studiocat.com/
  9. http://gswitz.blob.core.windows.net/tunes/PolarBlue(Geoff8).7z Give this one a try. Strip Label Text under Console View controls the color of it. Geoff
  10. I think the version I posted changes only the background of the processors so you can watch your processors more easily.
  11. It's not my theme. I'm just tweaking it for you.
  12. It's green in trackview... want me to change it to pink there? I'm still hunting for it in console view.
  13. Wait a sec. Let me double check. Any color you'd like in particular? I've got theme editor open now.
  14. Try this one... http://gswitz.blob.core.windows.net/tunes/Polar Blue (Geoff).7z
  15. https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Theme-Editor There is a theme editor that gives you control over most colors.
  16. Bummer of a first pedal.
  17. I see the blue-green. Tried a couple of screens. It's consistent for me.
  18. when i practice, i move tempos up and down by arbitrary increments with each try. This helps me when i play with others. At one point i practiced a bunch of bluegrass tunes at fixed tempos for months before trying them with others. I was unable to vary tempo at all.
  19. You mean Sean's dad? I didn't know he was a musician. What did he play?
