dont have a guide or list to diagnose, but I would first check settings on 'my computer' sound devices, and then check the settings in Cakewalk.
if your CPU meter in Cakwalk is showing high load, that could be a point to start checking.
You could find a lot of info through Google, sorry I don't have time to guide you through.
good luck
Mr Torture, I have a 10 year old budget Medion desktop that runs perfect on high sample rates, even at the lowest buffer size.
Maybe it's not the computer itself, or just 1 component that's causing the prob.
For a start I would disable '64 bit engine' and check settings in Sonar, fe. try cache reading en/disable, etc.
Also you could dowload a free latencymon software tool, that might show you what the problem is.
I have these, sound nice without fatigue, I don't turn them up loud that is.
Don't expect tons of clarity, detail and imaging but it's really a nice sounding speaker with good portion of bass.
Just my 2 cents.

your chance to become a Bapu..
Hugh haves 2 computers with each 2 monitor outs, can add 4 monitors directly to them (simples).
Then update computer/software/app settings to display the stuff you want on each monitor, possibly there's some (free) monitor manager software (once figured out, simples).
Bapu plectrum yes ? oboy oboy oboy
I bought a big box of car tyre balancing weights to glue into control cavities of my cheap guitars.
that way they shouldn't feel so light and cheap anymore.
I'm mad I know
at approx half Squier money, this guy with Roswell (UK) Alnico 5 pickups, maple neck, graphite nut and Diaddario strings
normally would be simular quality level to Squier.
So now I get a signed Bapu plectrum maybe ?

maybe let him know (friendly, respectful, calm) he cannot drink again at gigs, or he'll be replaced, period, that's it.
would try not to get into a discussion etc.
at least you gave him credit and a last chance...
just my 2 cents.
sorry, also forgot that they are cutaways, so that'd look funny upside down.
If I'd be rich would get ye just the SRT2 electrics from a Yamaha dealer and have it mounted in a nice western guitar from a guitar builder.
Hey Shane, was testing out my elec/acoustic Yamaha AC3R lately after not playing it for a few years, heard how good the onboard SRT2 system is.
IMO it's superior to what I've heard online from the Fender Acoustosonic, the Yamaha can sound like a real mic'd guitar while the Fender sounded a lot like a piezo pickup.
I noticed yesterday mostly when pressing the 'focus' button, it really sounded like a mic'd guitar.
Don't get exited as they don't have a lefty, but am I mad thinking one could quite simply make an acoustic a lefty ? (you'd have the control panel for the electronics on the bottom though...dunno if that's a showstopper).
The SRT2 system is the one you need I'd say...Yamaha's come in western and concert body's.
